Extremely Disappointed - Please Read Before Booking…read more I had an appointment for a consultation at this salon and was reassured that they were experienced and confident in matching my root touch-up to the rest of my hair. However, from the moment I arrived, things went downhill. The stylist who was originally supposed to do my hair told me she didn't have enough time and would have to rush, so she passed me off to another stylist. This second stylist seemed confident and reassuring. I showed her pictures of how my hair looked before and explained what I wanted. She said she could definitely achieve it. The next day, I arrived for my actual appointment at 4 PM--and I was in the salon until midnight. My hair was bleached three times in a row, severely damaging it. I went in with long, healthy hair and left with it cut extremely short because the damage was so bad it had to be chopped off. Even after hours in the chair, my hair came out a mix of different colors--blonde, orange, gray, ash, and even dark black in some areas. It looked like 10 different people's hair on one head. I was heartbroken and left in tears. For me, this was never about the money. I was trying to get a clean, seamless root touch-up to match the rest of my hair without damaging it. I was genuinely happy with how my hair had been done before, but unfortunately, I had moved out of state and had to choose a salon nearby. I paid full price--and even more the next day when I went back to get it fixed. Again, it wasn't about the cost. It was about quality and getting the job done right. The following day, I returned, hoping they could fix the mess. The manager stepped in and gave me a new haircut (since the first one was done poorly), touched up the crown area, added some highlights, and styled it nicely. I appreciated that she tried to help--but the damage was already done. My hair texture is completely ruined. It's now brittle, dry, and breaks easily--like brushing through a corn husk. And despite all of this, it's still not the color I wanted. Now I'm in the unfortunate position of having to spend hundreds of dollars just to try and repair the damage and restore some health to my hair--damage that should have never happened in the first place. This experience has truly been traumatizing. I'm writing this review not out of anger, but to warn others: do not take a risk at this salon unless you are seeing one of the owners or experienced managers. Most of the stylists appear to be inexperienced or not properly trained. Hair is personal, emotional, and something you carry every day. What happened to me has taken a toll not just on my appearance, but on my confidence. Please think twice before going here. My hope is that no one else walks out feeling like I did.

I enjoy the new updated salon design, the shampoo area is very comfortable and I love the pedicure chairs. Many of the hairdressers have been with Hairworks for a long time, but they are up-to-date with trendy styles and are very experienced with color. I can honestly say, I only have had one bad experience there when my regular stylist had a death in the family. My stylist even went out of her way to make it right after she found out about my experience. I have used many of the services at Hairworks. I feel they are my place to go in Delaware for haircut, color, extensions, pedicures and their facials and waxing can't be beat. Take the time to go there and I'm sure you'll find your new favorite salon too.
