Carol is a master stylist and gave me the best haircut I have had in years! She is a genius at cutting long layers. My color was great too! We moved back East from San Diego in 2016. As a woman, finding your stylist, nail artist, and other beauty experts is rough. I've probably tried a dozen or so places that could never achieve what I wanted even though they all said they could. Then I found this place and my hope has been restored in hair humanity. First, their receptionists are customer service experts. They listen, genuinely care and matched me to the perfect stylist, Eva. Janice and Vicki, I think you are rockstars and deserve bonuses. Totally made me feel welcome and special. Second, the salon is clean, chic and has a great vibe. The 14 women working there work really well together. At some places you can pick up on the cattiness. Not here. The vibe is serene and they all work like they actually like each other. Professionalism on fleek. Third, they carry great products like Unite, one of my favorite Carlsbad companies. And lastly, Eva was a rockstar. I presented hair that really need a champ and she delivered impeccable results that I'm loving. She was super friendly and easy to talk to. Her back up profession should be a therapist because after talking to her I felt a lot less weight off my shoulders and left feeling pretty again. Admittedly I was scared I'd still see the red the other place left me with. But Eva totally made me feel relaxed and I took the leap to trust her skills and am so glad I did. Since the pandemic began I have hesitated to visit a salon for my monthly cut & style which is very precise and asymmetrical. My at home attempts were ok but not fantastic. We recently moved to Newark De and figured it was time to find a new stylist. Over the years I have been disappointed when visiting trendy, overpriced salons where the stylists and staff had "attitudes" and frequently messed up my cut. Most people have a few horror stories. I did a google search and Carol Cole Salon in Newark, DE came up high on the first page and she had great reviews...the website looked trendy, simple and she looked nice & friendly. I took a chance, called and the receptionist was professional & accommodating and managed to get an appointment for the next day. I started to feel very comfortable. The salon is immaculate. Carol was punctual. She listened to what I wanted, took great care with my cut and communicated the entire time. It is obvious she takes pride in and enjoys her work. I had 2 poor experiences with other stylists when I first moved to Delaware and then I found this salon. I've been going to Vicky for my hair (cut and color) for about a year now. She's fantastic and I'm always very happy with my hair. My hair is pretty routine now but my first appointment I came in with awful chunky highlights and red I didn't want and she was able to fix it and get me back to my natural color. The salon itself is nice, very clean, good vibe. The receptionists have always been friendly and helpful. Also, I prefer not to schedule my hair appointment too far in advance because my schedule changes a lot so I just call when I'm ready and they're usually able to get me in within a week or two which I really appreciate. I LOVE this place! I moved to Delaware from New York about a year and a half ago and was so stressed about having to find a new hair stylist. I tried a place in Wilmington but I did not feel like the stylist listened to what I wanted and on top of that, I payed and arm and a leg for something I wasn't completely happy with. After doing some research I found Carol Cole and I won't go anywhere else! I get my hair done by Ashley and she is so upbeat and friendly, it makes the experience that much better. On top of that, she actually listens to what I want to do with my hair and gives me recommendations based on what's possible and what would look best. The prices are also very reasonable for the amazing work being done! I also just recently got my eyelash extensions done here and they came out fantastic. One star is being generous. I came here based on reviews for Samantha and she did a terrible job cutting my hair into a short bob. Both sides were significantly uneven, the front of my hair was thinned out compared to the back of my hair, and my hair did not sit right at all. It was too embarrassing to flat iron or style my hair. Find another salon. read more

I went there for the first time today for the eyelash lift/tint with Tracy. I love my results !!! The staff was super nice and the salon was very neat and fancy looking! I am glad I didn't see the bad review about the lash lift before going there or otherwise it might have deterred me from going!! If the results aren't exactly what you had hoped for you should tell them before you leave so you can give them a chance to fix it. Having gotten lash extensions for the last few years, and then moving around a lot, it's always overwhelming not find a new place/person to do my lashes. I like them to look natural - not too long or too much curl, and not gobbley looking with too much glue. Tracy is an absolute pro and expert. She goes my lashes exactly how I want them, and is a joy to know as well. Most can't tell I have them - which is the look I'm going for because there's nothing worse then when you can see the glue and extensions (FYI, I have very thin/straight lashes so before extensions used a lot of mascara and curled them throughout the day). I went here about a week ago to get a refill on my eyelash extensions, the ladies were super super sweet but unfortunately the quality of the extensions were terrible!! I followed all the care instructions (don't get them wet, no oil based products etc.) but almost ALL of them fell out within 3 days!! I was so disappointed, I also ended up paying the full price (which was not cheap) so I would really not recommend going here for eyelash extensions. The salon itself is bright, stylish and tastefully decorated, the stations are clean and organized and the overall atmosphere welcoming. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly, professional and attentive. Now for the hair. I have long, thick hair that was in desperate need of a trim/some shaping and my stylist Ashley did a superb job. She completely heard what I wanted and breathed some life back into it. I styled it myself for the first time this morning and still couldn't be more pleased with it. My hair feels fresh and healthy again. In addition to being technically skilled, Ashley is very sweet and a total pleasure to chat with. Lastly, the price was great, even disregarding the 15% discount for my first visit. Overall experience was horrible at this salon, I went in for a balayage and went to Eva for it, everything was fine and she even showed me a picture on Pinterest that I liked only problem is my hair turned out way too bright purple and not what I wanted so I came back to get it fixed, she put a burgundy over it and it looked pretty but she blamed me using box color on my hair for why my hair wasn't taking the color, she was rude and annoyed by me when she was the one that made the mistake. I didn't use a box color I used wella and without her putting a filler in my hair the color she put in has washed out leaving my hair looking terrible !!! Super unhappy with how I was treated by this salon, if she just admitted she messed up I would've understood but blaming the customer is never a good thing. read more

I had scheduled a hair cut and a consultation for a body wave or loose perm with Grace. Right off the bat, she was very honest and politely said that the treatment would damage my fine and thin hair and gave me other options that would be less damaging.
