I was a little nervous about what to expect from the experience, but she made me feel so comfortable and truly reach total relaxation. The place is one giant snobfest. Very few of the stylists are just ok. Most are subpar. The receptionists act like they are bored and make you feel like you are bothering them. They are not rude, but are definitely unfriendly. You get vibe that they hate working there. The restroom is always dirty, and sometimes lacks soap, and paper towels. The prices are too high for the quality of the work. The best way to change the culture of a business is by boycotting them. read more

Obviously it depends on the stylist, but mine was awful. I called and asked for the highest level of stylist but was told those people do not take new clients. Strange but ok - I got the next level down. I explained what I wanted color wise and cut wise and ended up with neither. I paid $250 for a service that I cried all the way home about. I asked for edgy and got a bowl cut. The stylist showed me golden brown samples that were supposed to be my base color and I ended up with dark brown - it looks fake especially with the highlights she put in. When I got home, I immediately washed and styled my hair hoping that might help. It didn't. All that happened was that strange pieces stuck out and were clearly missed. I am glad other people had great experiences here, but I will never try this place again. And the stylist I worked with should definitely get demoted to beginner status. read more

My co-worker told me about this place since I am new to the area. I'm coming from Cherry Hill, NJ where there's tons of options for a nice hair salon. I called and spoke to Emily. she was so sweet and made sure she answered all my questions. She also got me a spot right away, which was great! My hair was up to my waistline and I wanted something new. I showed Keri, my hairstylist, how I want my haircut and she did a phenomenal job and she also made sure I was comfortable the entire time! Went to the salon with pictures of what I wanted the salon colored my entire head purple. Salon gave the excuse that I had difficult hair. In my opinion if you're a hair professional working at a salon you should be able to do all types of hair. If you are unable to, make the person aware that they cannot have the desired hair style. Not attempt multiple times and ruin the client's hair. I had to go back have them take out all the purple leaving me with brown, copper, grey, and still purple hair. This salon felt comfortable enough to let me leave and pay $120 for this awful hair. The only reason I left was because I spent 6 hours at the salon the first time and then about 2.5 hours the second time. I was nervous to let them recolor my hair for the fear of making it worse again. The staff was polite and professional. I'm just leaving a review of my experience at the salon. read more

After a terrible haircut in Wilmington, I figured I couldn't go wrong with just going to an Aveda salon. I made a call and got in the next day right after work. The receptionist was really nice and the location and decor of the salon was fabulous....exactly what I look for in a salon. Absolutely love my haircut with Lorraina. It's incredible how fast she cut my hair without any error or second guesses. It was exactly what I wanted. Her skill & confidence really do make you feel at ease. I never felt any anxiety with her like I usually do elsewhere. Also, loved Jessica. She was able to do an underarm wax for me even though I had just remembered while I was there that I needed one. Bring cash to tip. I felt awful I couldn't tip them both. There is no ATM. I only have my hair done there (by Laura, the best stylist I've ever found!), but I know from their brochure that they offer a full range of services - massages, waxing, wraps, facials, wedding hair and makeup, even electrolysis by appointment. The space is gorgeous and peaceful (and child-free), and they offer a great range of cosmetics and hair products, including Aveda. read more

Lorraina my stylist moved from wilmington to here. She is a nice talented New Yorker. She does a wonderful color and slamming blow dry. I tried the new location on my way from from Lewes. It is pretty. My concern was lots of stairs. I'm ok with it but elderly would have an issue. When I bring my mom I'm hoping they have an elevator. It is an Aveda concept salon and I usually prefer other color brands but time will tell. The lady at desk was very nice and for my next appointment I needed earlier than she starts and she got right up and asked and they accommodated me no problem. Prices were very good and fair for her work. They offer a $20 off $50 or more service for new clients as well. I will make the trip to Middletown. Parking in back was tight since small and they have to share with other businesses. Try it, you will like it for sure, read more

Fara is a miracle worker! She color corrected my hair that was previously done by a competitor. She knew exactly what to do with the length, texture, & color and suggested a plan, but didnt strong arm me into it. I trusted her and went with her plan and I am glad I did - she took my atrocious, dry and brittle hair to a beautiful, shiny fall color that I can now be proud of. I cannot say enough about this little slice of beauty HEAVEN! The staff i.e. front desk are very friendly, patient and professional. And, Diana is hands down THE BEST STYLIST IN DELAWARE ESPECIALLY FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR ( and, I am quite certain she can do any kind of hair).... I have not found anything like her since I left Chicago. She pays attention to your needs, analyzes your hair and determines the best treatments, styles, etc to do from there. She is sweet, kind, very friendly, patient & may I add very fashionable ( LOVE IT) and even with her large clientelle she works fast while making you feel like you are the only one that matters while you are sitting in that chair. Her assistant La Qwin is also friendly, professional and quite charming.... They truly do make you feel like you are welcomed and that they are happy to see you! And, I also LOVE that they are an AVEDA CONCEPT SALON and also use MILBON Products ( now, if you don't know Milbon - get all of your life and learn about it). Yes, Miss Diana is a Brand Specialist and Teacher for the line... That stuff is the truth!! As well as the fact that they promote and focus on continuing education for there stylist.
