Being from Philly, I was so used to acrylic nails but since getting my nails done in Delaware, I've been introduced to gel. I've tried a few salons out and most in the Middletown area don't even offer acrylic services or always recommend gel. I can honestly say the gel has been good to my nails. They are stronger, grow healthy, and they dont easily chip or break. I've been to this salon a few times before reviewing it to ensure its consistency, as I've had some inconsistent experiences with another salon in the same area. I am happy to consider this place my regular salon now and cannot wait for me + my families next appointment.

I've been a regular customer of this business for a while and loved their services. However,…read morewhenever Mr. Lee did my nails, and I would leave quite unsatisfied because he's more of a business person than a nail technician/specialist. What happened yesterday was beyond believable. I went in for acrylic nails. He asked me whether I wanted it long, to which I responded, "No." He proceeded to do my nails, and I just let him do his thing. I reckon he steps in when there's no one available. At some point, I told him I wanted it oval. My regular nails are so short. He told me they were so short, and he possibly couldn't shape it oval. He hadn't added the acrylics because he had interpreted my "no" as I didn't want the acrylic extensions. I had even said I wanted "French tip" with the acrylic. He kept complaining and arguing with me about what was said or what was not said. I decided 'enough was enough'. Let me just pay and leave. At 1st, I had agreed that he could just paint it as it was so we could move on. However, he kept arguing with me, and Ms Kay, the owner also defending him, that I said I didn't want acrylic and now I'm saying something different when she hadn't even heard the conversation when it occurred. At the end of the day, my nails were left midway, with acrylic powder on it, no paint, just undone, and awkward. There was no "I'm sorry" and no attempt to make it better, just arguing. Nobody has to be treated like that by any business. I didn't disrespect them in any way and didn't deserve to be treated like that. I wish to convey that it's important to be mindful of how you treat all your customers because we all matter, and you may also need someone else in a different setting.

Booking the appointment was easy and I appreciate the amount of reminders sent. The shop is located in a shopping center, so parking is not an issue. It was very clean and beautiful inside. They also have a mini store in front, where you can find a good amount of hair supplies for purchase. My daughter was seated as soon as she arrived and the women who braided her hair was very fast. The appointment was listed for 4 hrs (3-7pm) and the stylist finished exactly at 7pm, so I was pretty impressed. The parts are neat and the braids are the perfect size for my pre-teen. The only thing I wasn't really a fan of is how hot it was. Not sure if they have an AC system or if it was just too soon in the season to use it but it was hot outside and the only air flowing was from the front door being left open. But with leaving the door open comes with flying insects coming in and out swarming around . Also, I feel like they end their child pricing too soon, as my daughter is only 11 but the kids pricing stops at 10. However, this doesnt take away from the great service provided. I'll for sure be booking with them again.

They sent me a text the same day of the appointment they booked for me to let me know I missed the appointment and they were going to charge me a fee of $115. Completely unacceptable because I did not authorize this. I hope my bank can reimburse me after this dispute.
