The beauty of this nail salon is that it's fairly cheap and not high-end yet it hits all the "typical" salon qualities very well. Interior: clean and well decorated. There is a great selection of both gel and regular nail polishes that line the wall. The best feature that stood out to me was that the nail tables have built in UV lights. This is super convenient to just stick your hand under the table to set your nails; no more clunky, plug-in UV lights or fans! Service: equally as great. Even though the salon was busy when I went around Friday 12PM, there were enough technicians to quickly cater to all customers. My technician in particular was soft spoken but definitely knew what she was doing. She worked quickly and precisely on my full set of gel nails. My total came out to about $35 which is a decent price for what I got. At the end of the manicure I also received a cute stamp card that rewards based on amount spent! Looking at the pictures form other reviews I thought I wouldn't have an issue with this place at all. I got a yin yang design of my middle fingers that the woman really struggled with. The polish isn't smooth and you can see the bumps and ridges on the surface. I also only went in for a fill and they told me I had to take my acrylics off and get a full set. I complied because their pitch was compelling but within the time I was there they said the same thing to every single other person that had acrylics on, and when I got to the register I found out why. They charge you an extra $15 to tear your acrylics off your nails plus the few extra dollars for the full set instead of the fill. They definitely like to take peoples money with very lackluster work and in a not so relaxing environment. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied. My nail tech is out the county. Called to get an appointment, was told come on in for 5pm. Got there sat for 30 minutes. A man and his child came in to get pedi for both and mani for young girl. They immediately take them back and sat them down. I complained to them. One techs said they not getting in front of you. I asked for the nails and the lady (i think her name was anne) told me she could do it. The nails i asked for looked very hard to do but she did a great job! The overall gel manicure I got was fine, it was rushed, I'm not sure if this is typical or was because we were late/close to closing time. The gel manicure was overall okay, just the basics nothing extraordinary. The pedicure though was great and I have great results, just again not a lot of pampering, just the basics were done. I didn't mind the short process time, it was actually nice in a jiff, however the gel manicure was sub-par the color is not uniformed throughout each nail/is opaque in areas after 4 coats of polish. I still would recommend this place since it's not expensive and you get what you pay for, they have many colors but limited polish brands. read more

I was fortunate to have Luanne do my nails and eyebrows and she was so friendly that it felt like I was chatting with an old girlfriend. I enjoyed my experience with Shining Nails. First, I am so happy to find a nail salon that's close to me that does SNS. While they don't have a ton of colors, they did a good job with the application and made them look natural. She tried a different top coat approach which was fine with me...she also told me if I didn't like it that I could come back and let her know..which was reassuring. Everyone was very nice. There were small details about the work that could be improved but I just need to open my mouth about them next time. While the decor of the salon needs a bit updating, it was quite clean which was reassuring. By the way it's $30 for SNS but $5 to take them off. I still think the pricing is high... I discovered this nail salon on yelp I wanted to get a full set by someone with good hands and a keen eye. Looking into the comments I noticed Jenny's name several times, so I thought I might as well try this salon out. I am very pleased with the service I received, from the start Jenny was gentle and aware of how long I wanted the tips and how pointy I wanted the coffins. She took her time to cut each pair of fingers and thumbs so that the length was matching, I prefer lighter nails so she even filed them down to my liking. I can say I am in love with my new gel set!
