An incredible experience for me and my husband. Wanted to go for years but finally had the opportunity. Loved every minute. Taking the kids back later this summer. read more

I took the Segway tour with Gliding revolution of Downtown Austin with the seasonal Bats under Congress Bridge. I thought the tour was awesome. I hadn't driven a Segway before, and I had a blast! It's a great way to get some time on a Segway while seeing and soaking up Austin. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to see the city. In fact, I'd probably recommend doing just about anything on a Segway after this tour. read more

Had an awesome experience with a great tour guide... His name was Seth. Very fun and entertaining... And might I say very patient. :) overall the tour was very informative, I learned a bit more about Texas history that I did not know before! read more

Gliding Revolution and a tour of Austin, Texas on a Segway was an incredible experience. If you have never ridden a Segway, do not be hesitant. It is easy and fun to do. Our guide was nice and easy going. He gave our group choices as to what we would like to see and stops to make. We did not feel rushed on the tour. We would have liked to hear a little more in depth history about some of the sights. Also, we did not find parking information on the Yelp website so finding parking was a bit of a challenge, not knowing the city. We found out that parking was available right behind the Gliding Revolution office. read more

Gliding Revolution was super and provided excellent service to our exchange students. They answered our calls promptly, returned calls, and were flexible in all of the arrangements. They also provided over the top accommodations for the students offering obstacle course races which were a hit. Thanks Juan and Shay!! read more

Raymond was a great tour guide and was very informative. We had a great time touring the city on the segways.

My mom and I spent the past week in Austin. Looking for things to do, we came across Gliding Revolution Segway Tours. We did the Downtown Austin tour which was very fun and pretty informative! It was definitely a great experience and something very different from the usual walking or biking tour. Our guide was very helpful in teaching us how to use the Segways and we really enjoyed our 2 1/2 hour tour of Downtown Austin (includes 6th Street, the Texas State Capitol, historical landmarks, etc.). It definitely isn't cheap but we both considered it to be worth every dime. Important Tip: WEAR SUNSCREEN! read more

We had decided to take the Early Bird tour at 7 am. Perfect time to beat the summer heat and enjoy a tour of the main attractions in downtown Austin! It was our first time riding on segways and our guide Shay was very patient and took great care to ensure our riding experience was fun and informative. I was a bit nervous at first learning how to maneuver the segway, but he did a great job helping us get comfortable using it by giving us a couple of simple exercises to do onsite before going on the excursion. Within 15 minutes of riding, I gained more confidence and enjoyed the rest of the tour. We enjoyed every aspect of the tour and Shay is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. We definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great experience! read more

Three of us rented bikes from Gliding Revoluation located at the Holiday Inn off I35. While the free parking was a nice, convenient touch, the rest of our experience was less than ideal. First of all, the bikes we got to rent were not the the "Electra Townie bicycles" advertised on their website. These bikes were cruiser bikes (meaning no gears and pedaling backwards to stop). Plus, they weren't in great condition. No one helped us adjust the seats which were in the lowest possible position. I didn't realize they could be self-adjusted until some park workers saw how awkward we all looked riding these bikes with the seats at the lowest level and showed us how to move the seats up and down. Why didn't the staff do this to begin with? The bikes were hard to stop without handbrakes, and the lack of gears made it hard to go up the hills on the trails. They gave us complimentary water (a nice touch), but the water was very warm. There were no bottle holders on the bike, so I requested a free basket. Unfortunately, the basket made the bike awkward to operate when we put the 3 waters in it. They made a full color copy of my credit card and drivers license, even though they had both my credit card numbers & drivers license already in their computer. I don't understand why this was necessary! They gave me the copy back after the rental (and even offered to shred it), but I still was concerned about having my personal & credit info on a piece of paper! Gliding Revolution could provide a better experience for their customers if the bikes they actually rented were the bikes that were advertised on their website (Electra Townies). This was a "Bait & Switch" tactic for business... Also, having staff available to help with the minor adjustments needed for different riders is essential to ensure that renters can operate the bicycles comfortably and safely. Overall I must say that my experience with Gliding Revolution was VERY disappointing! read more

Three of us from 21 to 61 yrs of age rode with Jason on your first ever 4th of July tour. WOW! He was amazing and, although he started with a very able side-kick....when one of the segways fizzled out, the #2 instructor had to stay back with the equipment and he could not make the return trip with us. OK....on a night like that, there needs to be more than two guides.... someone knowledgeable at the front of the line and at the rear is essential. Maybe more historic sites or more of the UT campus could be added, giving riders more room and less contact with angry pedestrians on 6th st. Getting thru traffic and across intersections really needs a "strong second" as well as helping the stragglers who may get cut off from the group on a night like the 4th of July. I think it is only fair to warn people who came for the "bat tour" if the bats have not been seen lately. Luckily we had the fireworks, symphony and all of Jason's patience and insights. We were thrilled with the adventure, and frankly shocked at how smoothly it went. Holiday Inn location was great for parking and, even my college age daughter admits that the dork factor evaporates as the fun begins. read more

This was our first segway experience and it was loads of fun. Gliding Revolution is located in the Holiday Inn loby, just off of I35. We got on our segways fairly quickly and got a tutorial - it really does not take much to learn to ride it, it is very intuitive and feels a little bit like skiing (not that you have to be a skier to ride it). We practiced in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn. It may sound dangerous, but it was actually quite convenient. We ended up waiting about 30 min for several other people, but I did not mind the wait at all because we were riding around the entire time. Our tour guide Hugo was very friendly, laidback and funny. We were in a group of 4 people which seemed to be ideal. We rode all the way to the capitol and back, stopping at various landmarks. We rode both on the steets and sidewalk, and I felt very safe. The tour guide alerts you to potental dangers (eg potholes) and signals you to stop or turn. He takes pictures for you, both with their camera (they email you pics for free but the link expired before we got the chance to download them) and your own camera. The tour lasted about 2 hrs. The price of the tour is a little steep at $75 per person, but I thought it was worthed. We tipped our guide as well because we had such a blast. Then when we went to pay, we saw that they expect you to tip 18% which seemed a little too much given the already pricy initial charge, but it's a tip so you can leave as much as you want. read more

Segway tour was a blast - great team building event my boss surprised us with. You get to see the city, play with a cool, expensive toy, and race along city streets. Afterwards, we did some cone racing - I wiped out but loved every minute. read more

My first time on a Segway was amazing because of gliding revolution. Amazing service with really nice guys who help you get used to the Segway. On the tour my guide knew so much information and was so helpful. I would 100% suggest this place if you want to Segway in Austin. Defiantly the best place. read more

Fantastic. My hubby and I laughed and laughed the whole trip. Felt like little kids. Thanks for our Batty Adventure and Keeping Austin Weird. read more

We had a great tour of Austin last Friday morning. I would recommend this to anyone. We had ages in our group from 11 to 76 and everyone had a blast. read more

We had a great tour. However, one of the other guests was a bit tipsy and should not have been allowed to go on the tour. I don't think the guides knew quite what to do with her once we got on the road. read more

We had a good time with our tour guide being very knowledgeable of the city and accommodating to our kids. Like the other reviewers have said its best to go with a group of people who aren't juvenile for maximum enjoyment We booked a tour early Saturday morning and had a great time by ourselves. My little ten year old and twelve year old had no problems learning how to use the segway. We highly recommend this company! read more

My wife and I took a few days off to play around Austin last week and decided to take the Lady Bird Lake Segway tour. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour so we didn't have to put up with any knuckle heads - I suggest booking an early tour on a weekday for your best chance at a small group. It was a lot of fun and our tour guide was great! She took the time to let us to take pictures and really kept the trip laid back and fun - I would recommend this to anyone. read more

Easy sign up online and easy meet up location. The Segway tutorial was fun and easy. Juan was amazing and knew so much information and was always willing to take photos for us! I just moved to Austin and it was an amazing way to learn about downtown Austin and have fun on the Segway while doing. I'd recommend to anyone! read more

I was extremely hesitant about doing this but did it when a family member was in town. It turned out to be so fun! It was a little tricky to ride for the first couple minutes but I ended up having such a great time. We did the nighttime bat tour which I would recommend because it wasn't quite so hot. Seeing the bats is always nice and we got to go on 6th street towards the end of the tour when it was starting to get crowded which was absolutely hilarious. Totally worth it! If you're nervous, think it won't be fun, whatever- do it! read more

NOTE: this is a review of the kayak rental only. I purchased a Groupon for a 1hr kayak rental for $10, a $15 discount off the usual $25 price. $25/hr for a kayak rental is pretty steep, especially considering how out of the way this place is. Rental places right along town lake near Zilker are around $10/hr, and are much more convenient. I felt a little odd walking into a Holiday Inn to go kayaking. They don't seem like they get many kayakers - you even have to tug your kayak from the shed to the water. However, the east side of Town Lake is very scenic. It was not very crowded near I-35, and despite my initial thoughts otherwise, it was very clean. The staff is very friendly, and upon returning they take care of pulling the kayaks back to their shed. If the rental was much cheaper, I would probably return, but with the price and the location, I would rather just rent a kayak at one of the places that I can bike to near Zilker. read more

ask for Juan! so fun. lots of history and segways are really easy to ride

I LOVED this! I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone else and plan to do it again when we have guests in town. Juan was our guide and was the perfect blend of knowledgeable, helpful, professional and friendly. He gave an excellent tour of Austin (I've lived here for 20 years including many years downtown) He told us things that I'd never heard and pointed out things I'd never noticed before, it was super interesting and informative. I brought my 12yr old daughter and this is I think the only place that will accommodate kids that age. We did this as part of a mother/daughter weekend and it was definitely the highlight. My daughter loved it! Super fun to be on the Segways, they are surprisingly easy to use and the training is quick and excellent. Nice at 9:30am in the morning because the streets were quiet and it wasn't too hot. I've done the duck tour in Austin before and this beats it hands-down. read more
