You know it's good when you come here almost every morning to grab coffee and donuts while on vacation. I happen to come across this little gem a few years ago when I was craving a good coffee and luckily it was right around the corner from where I was staying. I was SO happy to have found this place. The service is great, the coffee is always freshly brewed, and the donuts are handmade on a daily. I know so, because every time I walk in, there was someone in the back rolling out the dough...let alone the smell of the goodies baking. Everything there is made from scratch. These are hands down some darn good donuts. I always buy a dozen and I have my top three favorites. In MY opinion...these are MUST tries...Apple Fritter, Lemon Poppy, Bourbon Maple Bacon and of course the Key Lime...ok...I lied...FOUR favorites. They have donuts that you can't find anywhere else that taste this good. I wish we had one in TAMPA! Even though they open at 0700, I usually walk over between 0800-0830 to grab my coffee and select my donuts and bring them back to the room. Meh is how I would rate these donuts. I had the apple almond fritter. It was way too sweet and way to greasy. Nothing was light or fresh tasting about it. Mind you, there are no a lot of open places to get a donut at 9am here in Key West... I guess I am used to chicago where we have Stan's Donuts, Doughnut Vault, Firecakes, Glazed & Confused (sadly closed), and many more... Oh well... We stopped at Glazed Donuts on a recent Key West visit. This shop is top notch, with a variety of unique donut flavor combinations and fillings. The donuts here are thick, lightly glazed, and not greasy. I got the key lime pie donut, which is stuffed with a delicious key lime flavored jelly filling and has meringue on the top. We also got a brown butter donut covered in cream frosting. The donuts were very large and you could easily split one with a friend. They do a fantastic job roasting good coffee beans. Roasting coffee is a challenging skill requiring lots of practice and time to perfect. The medium roast here has nice body and character, hard to find qualities. After tasting other highly rated coffees on the island I returned here daily. while the first day had a slightly different flavor, I was happy every visit. It was fun to watch them cook and glaze the donuts. They are extremely fresh, likely within the hour. I am not a big lover of donuts but I did try several varieties, splitting them with my family. The apple almond fritter was the only one worth getting for me. It had ample fruit with a nice crunch from the almonds. The tall guy with the beard is not at all friendly. My wife didn't want me to tip when he served us on our first visit. The quality of the coffee brought me back. The other staff are actually nice. This place was EXCELLENT. whenever we are travelling, we seek out donut shops. This took the #1 spot on our list (2nd to donut king near groveland, fl). Husband had the blueberry pie cronut and I had the lemon poppy seed roll. On our second visit, husband went with the blueberry pie cronut (bc it was that good to have it twice) and I had the apple/almond fritter. The only donuts I've tried in Key West but damn were they delicious. Friendly staff, locals coming in and out. Espresso roasted in house and in front of you, lots of unique donut flavors. My only gripe - so this would really be a 4.5 if I was able - is that the menu did not differentiate between which donuts are cake and which are yeast. Thankfully they are right in front of you in a case to see, but you can't tell from the menu. Also - there needs to be a colorful donut. Sprinkles or something. I know this doesn't matter, and there might be colorful ones when the menu rotates, but our selection was so... brown. I want some pop to my innovative donuts. Plus, makes for better pictures (sorry, I am a millennial, after all). I ate the sticky knot (mmm like cinnabon but with slightly crunchy outer layer), and the prickly pear jam (tart, soft and delicious). Will definitely be back next time I'm in Key West. read more

Good, solid basic doughnuts, and then interesting unique flavors. A great stop for a snack (and a mimosa?) while you're out strolling, or, be the hero of your meeting or vacation and bring back a dozen for your family or co-workers! Go early, because when they run out, they close. The basic doughnuts are seriously inexpensive (under $1) and then the unique flavors are more pricey (up to $3.50, but worth it for their originality). My one issue with their doughnuts is that the non-cake doughnuts have very little flavor in their batter, so if you get a bite with none of the filling, they are kinda "meh". I could go for a richer vanilla or yeasty flavor there, and given the hype about this place, that issue is surprising. Their very simple seating area is just that, simple. Basically deck chairs and small tables, and not really designed for lingering or a social coffee. I would actually appreciate a nicer seating area to be able to linger with my coffee or mimosa and not feel rushed or transient. read more

We were meandering around Key West after visiting the Hemingway house. We were not due back on our cruise ship for awhile and a couple of women were raving about these doughnuts so we decided to pop in. OMG these were yummy. I am a HUGE fan of fritters and I've never had one with almonds and now I think they should always be made with almonds. LOL It was bigger than my hand and I was stuffed after one. Perfectly crispy on the edges, moist on the inside, crunch of the almonds was a nice touch. Mmmmm My BFF got a classic chocolate frosted doughnut and she said it was a sweet, yeasty goodness. Got there at around noon, there was a sign saying "sold out" on the door. We saw some people inside so we just went in and see what they got. Turns out, they did have some donuts still, only the seasonal ones were sold out. Anyway, we got a cinnamon ring donut, a mango glazed donut, a maple and bacon donut, and songs glazed donut holes. The cinnamon one is the best, with the perfect amount of sugar and cinnamon, not to sweet nor overpowering. The others were okay. But donuts aren't usually what I like but I had tried their donuts a while ago when the porch was doing a breakfast and beer special and they were really good.
