I stopped by Glazed Donuts on my way out of Key West - it's a great little Donut shop with ample vespa parking outside. I was there around 8 am and there was a decent amount of foot traffic coming in and out of the establishment. The venue has limited seating, so come early to nab a spot or grab and go! Inside the walls are covered in robots a great place for a photo op then hop into the bathroom for wall covered in donuts (can you tell I love decorative walls?). On to things other then the walls of the shop - they have their donuts on display right on the counter so you get a quick idea of what you can order. The staff also does a great job of recommending their favorite picks, I grabbed about three donuts and all were delicious! Other then full sized donuts they also offer donut holes - which were pretty good. read more

Excellent donuts. We tried the regular glazed donut and the pumpkin cheesecake. Both were delicious. The donut itself is very light and the glaze does not overpower the donut. Same with the pumpkin cheesecake. At other donut shops, sometimes the toppings are all you can taste instead of the donut, but not here. Highly recommend. read more

Key West lacks a donut scene. This is your only option for donuts. They obviously make them in house which is awesome but sometimes they can be a little overdone and have a bad oil taste. It's not a typical donut shop with sprinkles and frosting filled donuts. They are more upscale. They are very expensive. A plain glazed donut is $2.50. I was charged $18 for six donuts including tax. Only one donut was "special" because it had jam on top but the rest were plain. Donut holes are $3.50 a dozen. I have tried most of the donuts but I stick with the plain glazed because it seems to be the best when it comes to texture, taste, and softness. I will admit they do have some donuts that are seasonal that are great in flavor like their gingerbread and eggnog one at Christmas and they had a pumpkin one in the fall that was tasty. It's not my favorite donut shop on Earth but it does qualify as a favorite on the island. read more

Family owned and operated. I could tell because the cashier had her baby strapped to her! So cute. They were making donuts when I arrived. Yum! Flavors are crazy unique. And they have each donut on display so you know what you're getting into. Of course I ordered the bourbon maple bacon. I was surprised by two things 1- the price. Only $2.75?!?!? This donut would easily be $5 in Orlando. 2 - how LIGHT the donut was! I didn't feel gross after eating the entire donut. In fact, I kinda wanted another. The store has a few bar stools and some table seating. There is a shared bathroom. The decor is neat. Coffee related stuff all over the walls. I loved how they have a roaster right there! If I hadn't just walked over with my Cuban coffee, I would've tried theirs. I hear they opened the store with donuts and after a couple years and much research, got their coffee. These are FANCY donuts! Fresh, good quality, not overly sweet. Very pretty and unique. The atmosphere of the actual restaurant is a little lacking - could use some more decor and comfy seating. Wow! The in-house roasted espresso here, branded as Red Buoy, is incredibly rich and almost chocolatey flavored. It takes a proper expertly poured double espresso to a level of pure Guatemalan deliciousness rarely experienced in coffee shops in America. This is what espresso should be. Apparently our traditional biking around town with frequent stops for drinks and snacks paid off. We stopped in one day, NOT at GLAZED DONUT, but instead at THE PORCH (classic beer parlor a block away from Glazed Donut's stop)... Turns out Landon (of The Porch) created "Monday Breakfast with Landon" where you get a free Donut with your beer (and of course the donuts are from Glazed Donut). We ended up trying an APPLE ALMOND FRITTER and a CHOCOLATE LOVERS and paired them perfectly with a couple drinks. FIRST TIME THOUGHTS Absolutely delicious but (and I hate to say but) we had been riding around for a long time, we were hot, a bit sweaty and in need of drinks (and the donuts were a pleasant surprise).... so at this point almost anything would've been good... not trying to knock the donuts but when the conditions are rough, everything will be good and refreshing. SECOND TIME AROUND We're back ! ! ! Well, actually we're back at The Porch... back for another "Monday Breakfast with Landon" at The Porch. What can I say, I'm a bigger fan of beer than donuts. This time we had a STICKY KNOT (possibly a Bear Claw) and another CHOCOLATE LOVERS... and again they were delicious. THE SHOP: A-L-M-O-S-T It wasn't until a month later that GLAZED DONUT crossed out path again.... this time we were catching the movie "CHEF" at TROPIC CINEMA and as we left the theatre we peeked into Glazed Donut's windows (being that they are next door neighbors)... The interior was adorable and very keys-like (wainscoting, vibrant blue walls with whites, outdoor patio furniture used inside, interesting wall art)... and I love that the donut preparation is out in the open so you can watch the magic happen. Even the outside, storefront window is open to the donut prep areas... unfortunately they were closed at this late hour but the seed had been planted... THE SHOP: FINALLY ! ! ! Keep in mind, we are not big sweets eaters; but when the carrot is dangled in front of your face, you find yourself craving... and that craving built up and first thing the next morning we drove into town with plans to buy ONE DONUT EACH to have with coffee for breakfast. We finally made it to the source where out beer pairings have been coming from. We immediately told the guy behind the counter that it was our first visit and how excited we were after having them twice a The Porch. I was expecting an upbeat salesman... after all, these are unhealthy sweets that are "treats"... not a necessity so why not be overly friendly and sell us on this goodness. It was like talking to a monotone bank teller... and I wanted someone on a sugar high to make us feel good. According to their website, everything is made fresh on-site; not just the dough... EVERYTHING jellies, fillings, frosting; even the sprinkles are made on premises. THAT'S WHAT SHOULD'VE BEEN SHARED WITH ME when I arrived when I mentioned it was my first time there. Make recommendations; show me you want regulars and fans. On the counter they have these 50's style glass cake covers to display the donut flavors of the day (very creative way to present the options to guests and makes for great pictures too). And that display brings us to our second problem... those donuts looked too good... so yeah, we ended up with WAY MORE than we planned... we actually ended up buying A DOZEN. GREAT OR OVER-RATED ? So, we took our box of donuts and headed back home... we weren't in the house for more than a couple minutes before we made a bee-line to pig-out on some donuts. NO, we did not eat 12 donut in 1 seating... but we did take bites out of most of them... Mostly because I think donuts only taste good when they are fresh and soon after they begin to harden and loose taste.... and trying to nuke a donut the next day is futile and darn silly. Overall, the donuts we tried were VERY GOOD... but here's the list of results: * Apple Almond Fritter * had it at The Porch and still remains my favorite * Chocolate Lovers * chocolate overload but if you're a choco-holic then you'll love it * Key Lime Pie * I do love a good key lime pie but this needs some tweaking * Blueberry Bullseye * BULLSEYE... loved this one * Maple Bourbon with Candied Bacon * * since everyone is baking something maple bacon today, I expected this one to challenge the best of them but unfortunately it was not even in the game * Raspberry Mascarpone * looks better than it is but still good * Lemon Poppy Cake * icing was on point but the "cake" part was too dry * Glazed * it's their namesake so it better be good.... and yes, it was very good MY FINAL THOUGHTS I'll be back... especially since The Porch recently ended "Monday Breakfast with Landon" read more

I visited this business for the first time this morning after hearing so much about it since moving here earlier this year. The staff is very friendly and pleasant #1. The donuts are light and airy and decorated as beautifully as a wedding cake! The photos they have online are close to what they really look like and they offer seasonal specials. Average is what comes to mind when I think about Glazed Donuts. Maybe I came at the wrong time of day, but our donuts did not taste fresh. I've been here multiple times and felt this way each time. The blood orange had a glob in the middle and as my daughter bit into it she said, "I don't taste any blood orange." The donut itself is a plain donut. The cinnamon sugar donut tasted fine, nothing extraordinary. The service is always good here. The line can get long, so consider this your warning. It's kind of the only show in town. Right after we ordered, the line got pretty lengthy and went out the door. Maybe everyone heard my daughter and I were there so they rushed to the scene! As far as catchy trendy donuts go this place gets an A. Where it drops is the quality. Most of the donuts are dry and rely far too heavily on their trendy or exotic ingredients to sell you on them. Last visit I had a Key Lime Pie donut. It was dry and not very heavily lime infused. The topping (marshmallow that had been bruleed and topped with brahman cracker) tasted old and as dry as the donut itself. This time I had the Blood Orange Jelly. The donut itself was dry. The blood orange favoring was there but again, not prevalent. It was almost like a donut as a cup. The contents and donut didn't eat easily as a bit. It's more like a danish where there is a dough perimeter with contents on the interior. I don't think I will be going back again. My family seemed to echo the sentiment that most of the donuts were dry. The fritter we chose was enjoyed by everyone. It was large enough for each of us to have a taste! We tried a raspberry-filled, the maple bacon, and the key lime pie. The donuts were average. Of the three, we liked the key lime pie the best. I thought the maple bacon needed more maple flavor. We decided to eat there and found it strange that there's no plate, tray, basket, or anything available.
