8 of us dined at Misohappy on the afternoon of 12/31/2025. We sat outside. They were busy but service did not suffer. Our drink order was taken right away, followed by apps and then lunch. The food was excellent and believe me, with 8 of us, we tried a variety of the menu options. All in the party were pleased with their meals. The crispy duck soup was a standout, especially the broth. I would recommend that you try Misohappy for some authentic Thai food and fresh sushi.

Found a cute Thai place for tonight--and no, the name of the place had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. Obviously. Lol. We were seated at an awesome table upstairs so that you had a nice view if you got up to look over the banister while waiting to see the open kitchen and chefs at work. Moment I heard Poolside by Harvest Moon I knew music selection is awesome. We started with the gyoza and crab rangoon. I've eaten many a gyoza in my day, and based on both experience and the evidence before me, I'd skip these. The filling was just meat: no vegetables, no seasoning and the accompanying sauce was oddly pale, bland, and somehow not soy-adjacent. A mystery, really. The crab rangoon, however, was quite good: generously filled with crab and paired with a solid sweet tangy sauce that typically goes with it. No notes there. Our friends ordered a duck curry and a lobster curry of some sort, both of which looked good as curries go. The duck itself was crisp, moist, and delicious. I'll give it that but I'm just not much of a curry person, so I pivoted to sushi with my man. He shared three rolls with me: the Black Pearl, Godzilla Roll, and Smokie Roll. I asked for no sriracha (hard no), love unagi, and generally avoid cream cheese in sushi, but achieving all 3 here appear to be impossible. Compromises were made. I was concerned about spiciness and our server reassured me spicy mayo isn't actually spicy (it's not). I told him I hate sriracha but remembered I like spicy mayo before he reminded me it consists of mayo and sriracha. Oh yeah, I said. If sriracha's gotta be in a lot of these rolls because this is after all sushi/thai/asian food and what I am asking seems outlandish, why is it we have forks instead of chopsticks? He laughed and handed us all chopsticks for my snarky observation. The Black Pearl satisfied my unagi craving, and the Smokie Roll was flavorful and enjoyable because, frankly, it's hard to go wrong when tobiko is involved. Our server was cool, but the overzealous bus boy who was quick to grab dishes before we even actually finished (had to stop him from grabbing my plate with roll still on it) needs to slow his roll. Pun intended, lol Ordered chicken pad see ew for my son to go. What I saw didnt seem anything exceptional from all the pad see ew I've seen in past, though I have seen better. Not sure why other Yelpers chastised this place on their sushi. I can vouch it was quite good and well presented. Had we not all been completely stuffed, we would've ordered dessert aptly named MisoHappy Endings, which is exactly what I would've called it, too. Missed opportunity, but full stomachs win.

The food really tasted great! Not so good part was the time to wait, they seemed to have no system where people could put down their name and just be notified electronically that their table was ready so we stood in a long line for about 30 mins outside in the cold until we got seats. If there is that system there, then it just wasn't used during our visit for some reason. Typical Keys prices for entrees and sushi, but you might find some of the stuff is a little up there, especially the sake prices. Note: Gratuity is automatically added on checks.

I picked this restaurant it had good rating but in my experience, the food came fast. The pad thai I ordered the first one I feel like it wasn't fresh because the noodles are not soft and it was hard to chew and I ask our server to take it back, they made a new one but it was still the same. I'm disappointed with this. We ordered crab Rangoon, I was surprised it was big but not crispy you have to pull it when you bite. The filling was good but unfortunately the wrapper was not good. My best friend enjoyed his bento. That's a good one. It was a bad experience with the food and i don't know if I will go back. Our server Tony did an amazing job checking on us and making sure we're okay. The place was clean, small and right few tables inside and outside.

My search for sushi landed me at Misohappy. Sadly the quality of the fish was very middle of the road. For the exuberant KW price tags the expectations were high. My gf and I order nigiri over rolls to enjoy the fish without masking its natural flavors. Sadly the taste and texture was subpar. We thought about returning to try their Thai options but eventually opted out. Hopefully your experience is different from ours. ENJOY!!!

Absolutely exceptional on all levels. The ambience was very comfortable clean and could be casual or dressy. Service was so friendly and passionate about the food with very helpful suggestions. Everyone must order the donut dessert. I've never had anything like it. Very yummy!

Oh my goodness. I went here with several girlfriends on a trip and it was the gem-find of our whole trip. We ate out every meal, but this was by and large our favorite. Food: seriously so so good! Its FL, but the specialty sushi rolls found on their tiny wall menu are so delicious. We also loved their papaya salad. Service: this is where they truly shine. Every server went out of their way to be so kind and helpful. We went a total of 3 times on our trip, and they remembered us each time. Ambience: small, quaint, cozy inside. Small outside seating available for nice days. We loved this place and would go back again and again. If it's not rush hour, you can prob walk in. But if you want to go during busy times, make reservations.

Had to come back for a second visit because Misohappy was just that good! We had dinner the first night then returned for lunch the following day. The food was excellent, and the service was incredibly friendly and personable. The menu has more options than you could ever try in one and two trips, but I highly recommend the Sashimi Deluxe and the Lord of the Ring (a special at the time). Evenings can be busy, but lunchtime was easy to get a seat. There is outside seating as well and is good for people watching. Can't wait to return to Key West and enjoy more.

Happy my friend and I stopped in here before heading back home. Large portion. We shared the Misohappy roll and crab rangoons and it was perfect. Both dishes were seriously... amazing!! Small and cozy spot with maybe 12 tables, some outside and a seating area upstairs. Service was quick and friendly! I would absolutely make it back here next visit. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MISOHAPPPPPPY!

Super friendly staff! That's what stands out the most about Misohappy. I popped in for a quick roll and miso soup, upon the recommendation of a friend who said this was the best sushi in Key West. Nothing fancy, but cozy, with solid rolls. I had the Ocean Roll and was pleasantly surprised by the size when it came out! One roll was more than enough to feed me, which is great, when you're paying $20+ per roll. They also feature Thai food, with dishes such as panang curry, fried rice, and pad see ew. Definitely a cute spot, right in the middle of the town!

Chicken Teriyaki, very good

We ate lunch here and everything was absolutely amazing, great service as well. We ordered a California roll which was very fresh and tasty. My son ordered the pad kee mao with spice and chicken and it was one of the best we've ever had. I ordered the pad Thai with vegetables (delicious) and my daughter ordered the teriyaki chicken, which she enjoyed very much. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and the food came out at the right time nice and hot. We will be back.

One of my favorite sushi spots in Key West. Consistently good with both service and food quality. The place is cozy but vibes are good. If you want a bit more quiet then I recommend sitting upstairs. The Tom Kha soup is 10/10z I'm not a soup lover and that won me over.

Anyone Know About New Restaurant Next Door to Miso Happy? Called Souper.... Something

Last time we were in Misohappy they said that they had bought the place next door and that they were working on getting it spruced up for an opening. You may want to ask the staff for details. :-)

Tucked away in a quiet historical neighborhood of Key West is the Little Pearl wine bar restaurant…read more We made a reservation in advance for a pre-fixe tasting menu as they offer three seatings per night at 5 PM 7 PM and 9 PM.. We chose to select wine by the glass to pair with our courses, and the Wine selection was awesome. We added on the ceviche of the day, which was not only beautiful in its presentation, but so fresh , clean and delicate it was just a joy to eat. For our tasting menu selections, we enjoyed : Hamachi Crudo with fried shallots, Wontons with duck bacon, corn in a plum sauce, yum! Steamed mussels with ginger in a coconut green curry sauce so good you could drink it & topped unfortunately with some rather overpowering / overcooked fried udon noodles. The Finned Fare of the night, which was a beautiful piece of fresh grouper served in a sea of the best polenta I think I've ever tasted. The New Zealand venison strip loin served with a potato pancake in a black garlic sauce. Perfectly prepared For dessert, we chose the cheese plate and the brownie served with a salted caramel gelato. Perfection! The service was incredible and I only wish that they had had more patrons at 5 PM when we dined. This is truly a little neighborhood gem in Key West and I would highly recommend it if you want a intimate romantic and fabulous dinner out. The chef here is so very talented and he deserves all the love.

We came across Blackfin Bistro on our last night in Key West. If we had discovered it earlier in…read morethe trip, it likely would have earned a repeat visit. Food Blackfin is a beer and wine restaurant, so no cocktails. I'm not a big drinker, but I do enjoy when a place offers creative house cocktails. Since I'm not much of a wine or beer person either, I was initially a bit disappointed. That changed quickly when I saw they served Stiegl Grapefruit Radler. That alone felt like a small vacation in a glass. The menu offers plenty of choices to satisfy almost any palate. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a lighter approach: * Grilled Octopus * Tempura Green Beans * Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad Everything we ordered was very good. The salad was fresh and thoughtfully balanced, with bacon, goat cheese, apple, and honey bringing layers of flavor. It was served with a crusty baguette. We don't normally eat bread, but this was a welcome addition. The grilled octopus was tender, flavorful, and served hot. Always a good sign. The tempura items were nicely executed, lightly battered and not greasy. The green beans were crisp with delicate seasoning, served alongside a balsamic glaze dipping sauce that complemented without overpowering. Service Service was attentive throughout the evening. We never felt forgotten, and we never felt rushed. The pacing was natural and relaxed. Thank you, Gabor. Atmosphere The indoor dining area feels quiet and intimate. The outdoor patio in the back leans more casual. Surrounded by a tall fence and shaded by trees that form natural canopies, it offers a sense of privacy that can be hard to find in many of the more open-air restaurants along Duval Street. Even though this was a lighter, abbreviated meal for us, my sense is that Blackfin would be an excellent choice for a full dinner. We would definitely plan to return on our next visit to Key West.

The service was not just disappointing, it was completely unprofessional and left us wondering how this restaurant is even operating at this level. First, we ordered a clam chowder the moment we sat down. This is a basic appetizer, something any restaurant should be able to bring out. Shockingly, it didn't arrive until after we finished all of our entrées. I had to ask twice about it, and the explanation we received was, "We don't prepare the ingredients ahead of time, so it takes longer." I was honestly speechless. Clam chowder is a standard menu item, how does a kitchen not have basic prep done? By the time it finally arrived, it was no longer an appetizer but an afterthought. Second, before all of our dishes were even served, the staff came and removed every piece of tableware from our table.(included a little spoon we got for my kid, I have to ask them twice to get it back from their kitchen) We were literally left without utensils while still waiting for food, especially the clam chowder that was delayed. When we asked for utensils again, it took multiple reminders before someone finally brought us a few spoons. The lack of coordination and basic common sense was shocking. Third, we were a group of five adults and one child under 1.5 years old. At checkout, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity fee, yet the restaurant provided zero service for the child. We asked for warm water to heat a baby bottle and were told, "We only have cold water here." That response alone was unbelievable. We even brought our own child seat. Worse, the server repeatedly carried plates over our child's head, and even after several reminders, continued doing so until the very last dish was served. The lack of awareness and safety consideration was truly concerning. To be specific, our server was a female staff member with an accent, and throughout the entire meal, it felt like she had zero intention of providing proper service. There was no attentiveness, no willingness to help, and absolutely no sense of responsibility that would justify a mandatory 20% service fee. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Thirsty Mermaid displayed poor communication, lack of professionalism, and a complete disregard for basic hospitality standards. We will never return, and I strongly advise other families especially those with young children, to avoid this restaurant entirely.
