When an Asian place offers so much variety of food, it's usually not that good. BUT NOT THIS PLACE. Mom and I were in town for a weekend and just randomly walked past this place around dinner time and it was packed. Decided to go in to get some thai food, and oh my everything was amazing! Papaya salad was well season and generous portion, the Tom Kha was so flavorful, and the Hainanese Chicken Rice is also very delicious. Definitely on our Key West list now!
I was bummed because this place was recommended to us by a local. The spicy tuna had an aftertaste. The California roll is just sliced krab, not krab salad. The thom yum soup was watered down & tasted just like spicy broth. Wouldn't recommend. Too many better sushi places out there.
Found a cute Thai place for tonight--and no, the name of the place had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. Obviously. Lol. We were seated at an awesome table upstairs so that you had a nice view if you got up to look over the banister while waiting to see the open kitchen and chefs at work. Moment I heard Poolside by Harvest Moon I knew music selection is awesome. We started with the gyoza and crab rangoon. I've eaten many a gyoza in my day, and based on both experience and the evidence before me, I'd skip these. The filling was just meat: no vegetables, no seasoning and the accompanying sauce was oddly pale, bland, and somehow not soy-adjacent. A mystery, really. The crab rangoon, however, was quite good: generously filled with crab and paired with a solid sweet tangy sauce that typically goes with it. No notes there. Our friends ordered a duck curry and a lobster curry of some sort, both of which looked good as curries go. The duck itself was crisp, moist, and delicious. I'll give it that but I'm just not much of a curry person, so I pivoted to sushi with my man. He shared three rolls with me: the Black Pearl, Godzilla Roll, and Smokie Roll. I asked for no sriracha (hard no), love unagi, and generally avoid cream cheese in sushi, but achieving all 3 here appear to be impossible. Compromises were made. I was concerned about spiciness and our server reassured me spicy mayo isn't actually spicy (it's not). I told him I hate sriracha but remembered I like spicy mayo before he reminded me it consists of mayo and sriracha. Oh yeah, I said. If sriracha's gotta be in a lot of these rolls because this is after all sushi/thai/asian food and what I am asking seems outlandish, why is it we have forks instead of chopsticks? He laughed and handed us all chopsticks for my snarky observation. The Black Pearl satisfied my unagi craving, and the Smokie Roll was flavorful and enjoyable because, frankly, it's hard to go wrong when tobiko is involved. Our server was cool, but the overzealous bus boy who was quick to grab dishes before we even actually finished (had to stop him from grabbing my plate with roll still on it) needs to slow his roll. Pun intended, lol Ordered chicken pad see ew for my son to go. What I saw didnt seem anything exceptional from all the pad see ew I've seen in past, though I have seen better. Not sure why other Yelpers chastised this place on their sushi. I can vouch it was quite good and well presented. Had we not all been completely stuffed, we would've ordered dessert aptly named MisoHappy Endings, which is exactly what I would've called it, too. Missed opportunity, but full stomachs win.
8 of us dined at Misohappy on the afternoon of 12/31/2025. We sat outside. They were busy but service did not suffer. Our drink order was taken right away, followed by apps and then lunch. The food was excellent and believe me, with 8 of us, we tried a variety of the menu options. All in the party were pleased with their meals. The crispy duck soup was a standout, especially the broth. I would recommend that you try Misohappy for some authentic Thai food and fresh sushi.
Obsessed with this place! Has now become a must-visit whenever we're in Key West. Fresh sushi, lots of different options, and amazing service.
The food really tasted great! Not so good part was the time to wait, they seemed to have no system where people could put down their name and just be notified electronically that their table was ready so we stood in a long line for about 30 mins outside in the cold until we got seats. If there is that system there, then it just wasn't used during our visit for some reason. Typical Keys prices for entrees and sushi, but you might find some of the stuff is a little up there, especially the sake prices. Note: Gratuity is automatically added on checks.
FRESH FOOD , FRIENDLY SERIVE , CASUAL AMBIANCE Petchi , was a very a friendly & efficient server. He educated us on the freshness of the seafood.The restaurant is cute and little hidden gem. We are so happy with everything at misohappy. We are coming back on the next trip! Awesome miso soup , happy shrimp , seaweed salad , sweetheart roll , Thai salad , Osaka bento box , tuna roll and for dessert sticky mango rice.
I picked this restaurant it had good rating but in my experience, the food came fast. The pad thai I ordered the first one I feel like it wasn't fresh because the noodles are not soft and it was hard to chew and I ask our server to take it back, they made a new one but it was still the same. I'm disappointed with this. We ordered crab Rangoon, I was surprised it was big but not crispy you have to pull it when you bite. The filling was good but unfortunately the wrapper was not good. My best friend enjoyed his bento. That's a good one. It was a bad experience with the food and i don't know if I will go back. Our server Tony did an amazing job checking on us and making sure we're okay. The place was clean, small and right few tables inside and outside.
My search for sushi landed me at Misohappy. Sadly the quality of the fish was very middle of the road. For the exuberant KW price tags the expectations were high. My gf and I order nigiri over rolls to enjoy the fish without masking its natural flavors. Sadly the taste and texture was subpar. We thought about returning to try their Thai options but eventually opted out. Hopefully your experience is different from ours. ENJOY!!!
Oh my goodness. I went here with several girlfriends on a trip and it was the gem-find of our whole trip. We ate out every meal, but this was by and large our favorite. Food: seriously so so good! Its FL, but the specialty sushi rolls found on their tiny wall menu are so delicious. We also loved their papaya salad. Service: this is where they truly shine. Every server went out of their way to be so kind and helpful. We went a total of 3 times on our trip, and they remembered us each time. Ambience: small, quaint, cozy inside. Small outside seating available for nice days. We loved this place and would go back again and again. If it's not rush hour, you can prob walk in. But if you want to go during busy times, make reservations.
Had to come back for a second visit because Misohappy was just that good! We had dinner the first night then returned for lunch the following day. The food was excellent, and the service was incredibly friendly and personable. The menu has more options than you could ever try in one and two trips, but I highly recommend the Sashimi Deluxe and the Lord of the Ring (a special at the time). Evenings can be busy, but lunchtime was easy to get a seat. There is outside seating as well and is good for people watching. Can't wait to return to Key West and enjoy more.

Started coming here about a year ago, absolutely my favorite place. First off the people, they are the kindest most welcoming people I have ever met, secondly, the food. It is the best food I have found. When it comes to sushi you want an art and these people are artists. I will recommend time and time again! Come here if you love sushi or stir fry, all is great! read more

We came here for dinner on Saturday night, they have 2 different settings, one kinda like a sushi bar and another more like a restaurant, we preferred the second option. The food came out quickly but I gotta say, the quality is lower when you compare to Miami and the prices are higher. Otoro was pretty average and definitely not worth the price of $25. Their pad see ew noodles were overcooked and very bland. The ocean roll had more rice than fish in it. read more
Last night in the Keys and we were glad we stopped by to eat here. Thai cuisine connected to a Noodle Soup restaurant so we got to try two restaurants in one. 5 Stars - Service - our server was engaging and friendly and was aware when we our drinks were low. Other staff members were attentive with the quick meal service and picking up our empty plates or trash due to the small two seater table. 4 Stars - Ambiance. Limited seating on The 1st floor but has a 2nd floor. Can get really crowded quickly and loud. 4 Stars - Food We ordered the Love Key West Bowl - main ingredient is the local source Lobster tail. The broth was coconut cream based so a little bit sweet. Ramen was chewy, al dente'. Added hot chili oil and lime to satisfy our tasting profile. Lobster Pad Thai - Star of the show was a whole tail lobster which was perfectly cooked and the chewy noodles absorbed the Tamarind and Peanut sauce which made it wonderfully yummy! Added Thai spice and fresh lime to enhance the seasoning. Items missing the fresh Thai Basil, Cilantro and Bean Sprouts. 2 Stars on Shrimp Summer Rolls - totally disappointed with the two freshly made Summer rolls especially being charged $12.95 for Basically a Veggie roll with One shrimp per roll. Didn't even take a picture of it but should have just to show all the veggies and noodles in it. Great if you are a vegetarian. But at $12.95? Bummer. read more

The food servings are great enough for 2 to 3 People. The prices are very reasonable and compatible for the area. The food is so spectacular and delicious! We went two nights in a row. The staff is so friendly and super fast. I recommend this place ten times over! This is definitely our favorite place in Key West for amazing Asian food and food in general. The ambiance is also great! Cool vibes, cool art! Feels local, small in size but big in flavor, portions and hospitality. We are from New York, Pennsylvania, Miami and Los Angeles and we would pick this restaurant again and again. Best thai food and drinks i have had anywhere, even compared to big city living. read more
I'm not even being biased, but Asian food is just better! Decently priced restaurants close early here, leaving Misohappy to be one of the pretty reasonably priced stores still open. Unfortunately, the menu I came for was seasonal, back in October. The service was impeccable, best I had on the island. The waiter saw to us to the end, all smiles and super efficient. The water refill also went crazy! My Penang Curry with Seasonal Fish Fillet ($25.95) was so comforting. I asked for mild, but it still had a pretty kick to it. Vegetables were ok, but the fish! For the price, you are getting huge pieces! They also gave a huge mussel in their Tom Yum Soup. Their Key Lime Pie ($10.95) is a house special, made with a Thai twist. Not a fan, it reminded me of a not as salty egg yolk of a mooncake. read more

Well, this place is appropriately named, as indeed "Me so happy!" when I left. By far my favorite meal in Key West and the very best service we had all weekend. The food was amazing and while I was leary of the fried avocado, it totally worked, especially with the bright and fresh seaweed salad. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening, despite being out on the busy sidewalk; it only added to the ambiance of Key West. People watching and a fantastic dining experience. 5 experience! read more
After a full day in Key West, my husband and I were looking for a bite to round out our culinary experience for the day and had already eaten at a couple of spots we knew we enjoyed from previous trips. Looking to try a new place, we found Misohappy and decided sushi would be a good way to wrap up a solid seafood experience. We decided to share a couple of items and went with the Crab Rangoon appetizer and Crunchy Munchy specialty roll. The Crab Rangoon came out really fresh and piping hot. The crust was perfectly fried to a have a nice crispy texture and hadn't retained a lot of oil. They were generously stuffed with the crab mixture. The sweet chili sauce served with the dish provided a perfect balance to the crab mixture. My only complaint with this item was the amount of black pepper in the crab mixture. It was a little too much for my personal taste, and seemed to be the prominent flavor in some bites. The Crunchy Munchy Roll was tasty with a lot of different flavors and textures to make it interesting. It tasted fresh and had a good rice to filling ratio. It was a good balance of sweet and spicy with both mango and jalapeño in the center of the roll. I'm not a huge fan of significantly spicy items, but I can manage the spice level from that pepper. The other flavors prevented it from being overpowering. This is a roll that is torched, and the slight char on each piece just adds even more to the flavor. Other than the black pepper in the rangoon, the only minor complaint was that service seemed a little rushed. Because we shared, we cleared the main plates each dish came on, but still wanted the sauce for the rangoons. It left me with a partially eaten crab rangoon with no sauce to dip it in because the staff grabbed it up before I knew what was happening and could ask them to leave it. Again, a minor complaint that still warrants a 4 star from me because food was worth it. read more

Highly recommend. Great restaurant. Good location. They found us a table pretty quickly - but hard not to ignore there was a constant steady line of people coming in and looking for a table. I could tell there were lots of locals here. The staff is incredibly attentive and go out of their way with recommendations. The Food was BEYOND delicious. We ordered 2 different rolls. We had the shrimp pad Thai, and the basil stir fry Duck which was our favorite. And of course - Thai donuts. read more

Delicious Food, quaint atmosphere, and quick service late at night, yes that's a winner for us!! Arrived at 10pm-they were on the short list of restaurants open until 11pm so they were a great option as we were wanting Thai or Asian cuisine. We started with the edamame and fried calamari. The calamari had a very light batter which my daughter has now ranked as one of her top ever. She gets fried calamari at just about every restaurant and always rates them so this was a clear winner. On to the main courses, shrimp basil stir fry and tofu cashew nut for the family. On a last minute decision after reading the menu close to ten times lol out popped the grilled whole squid. One of my absolute favorite that dishes that I get every time I find it on a menu. Grateful I found it on the 10th read. All these dishes were very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. We left nothing behind. I am still kicking myself for not getting the whole fried snapper red curry. Table behind us ordered it and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Pleased with my decision but still kinda regretting it. Next time Key West, next time! read more

We were visiting Key West and we noticed this cute sign. We returned the next day and we were SO happy we did. From the appetizers of calamari and dumplings (gyoza), to the fresh contents of the California Roll, so good. We had entrees of Crab fried rice, pad tia and my husband had some Lad No which he really enjoyed. The food has quality ingredients, was served quickly and the staff are very friendly. We will be back on our next visit for sure. read more

What a fun and friendly restaurant! Parking can be difficult as it is a bit congested in the area, but I was lucky to find a spot out in front, where they had outdoor seating (which it was humid in the Key West) so that's a nice option for anyone looking for that outside air. I went inside and was greeted with a welcoming smile as I noticed the place was crowded, lively, and busy. They asked if I wanted the sushi bar and I happily accepted. Since I was in a rush to drive back to Miami, I figured this would be a quick dinner. They have an extensive menu so picking out what their star dishes would be proved to be a task. I ended up with the Phen's Famous Crab Rangoon, which if it's "famous" you gotta try it, along with a sushi deluxe and coconut key lime pie. The rangoon came out and then I understood why it's famous: crispy and flavorful as you can tasty the creamy crab with each bite. They give you a nice amount and with the sweet sauce, you keep going back for more even if it's hot! I recommend this appetizer for sure! Soon the sushi deluxe, 16 pieces of sushi cut by the sushi chef. It was great trying the tuna, salmon, hamachi, and white fish, but at the very end, I found a bone in a salmon. I pointed it out to someone, this lady acknowledged it and knew it wasn't a good sign, but they didn't do anything more than to let the chef know there was a bone. This is where my one star was deducted. It's considered a poor reflection on the sushi chef as they are supposed to not have bone in their fish cuts. I would not recommend the sushi deluxe. Finally the dessert. I wanted to make sure I had room for it! It was a sweet treat since it was key lime pie with coconut milk drizzled over it. Creamy and it has a lovely consistency. The taste is spot on to what it is. I recommend sharing this with others as it is pretty rich and sweet. The service was quick and friendly! They didn't rush me out, if anything I wanted to get out fast since I had a 3-4 hour drive, but it was the perfect amount of time. The interior decor reminds of a forest and the Mekong River rather than the Key West. I love the Southeast Asian roots and the fusion with serving Thai and Japanese foods. I would visit if I was in the area again and try the Thai foods next time! read more

Came here to update my review. Place is still 5 stars, the crispy duck Panang curry is INCREDIBLE. Every single bite was better than the last. The Red Dragon Roll was really good too. Waiter was attentive with refilling our waters and making sure we were taken care of. Plenty of bar seating inside. read more

So close too a five star but I was not that impressed with my sushi roll...BUT the appetizers and Thai donuts made up for it! Best Thai donuts I've had (and I've tried plenty)...the tuna nachos were a must have and my patty was very impressed with their sake mixed drinks! I always have to give credit to the crab Rangoon and chicken wings which was completed greatly with the Thai chili sauce. Will definitely be returning on my next trip! read more

I came here on a suggestion from a couple I had met while in key west.. such an amazing suggestion. It is a small but cozy place. The thai iced tea was just sweet enough. The chicken pad thai I wanted Thai hot At first it wasn't. My server, I wish I had learned her name, asked if it was ok. I told her it was not thai hot She gladly took it back to make it spicier. Although still not thai hot, it had a pleasant heat to it. I genuinely like my thai food spicy. I don't like to get the pepper wheel. When I add spice it is to prove a point, when the chef adds heat she/ he does it while still holding the great flavor. I do believe I genuinely surprised them with the amount of heat I can do. Lol The piece of resistance was the stir fried crispy duck with basil. Oh my god!!! I have my favorite place where I live in va. If this place was in va. I would definitely have a hard time picking which place I would go to. So glad to have received this suggestion. Definitely a place to hit up when in key west!!!! read more
I have calmed down a bit and settled at a 3. We heard excellent things about this spot. We grabbed a reservation and showed up about 10 minutes earlier. They weren't sure where to seat us (red flag #1). A server volunteered and they sat us upstairs with three large parties. It took the server over 20 minutes to greet us they had less that 3 minutes before we were walking out - I had a timer going on my phone. She walked up the stairs at least 6 times and right past our table (not a great set up for us to flag her down. The service was a 1 star experience. The food was a solid 4 star with a super star! If you go there for nothing else go for the Tuna Nachos. Flavor packed and a creative idea. This is what eared them a 3. The New York Roll was ok, but the steak was a bit over done (and I am a medium well girl). The sweetheart roll was good, nothing spectacular. They were out of a few rolls we tried to order. The Happy Bubbles drink was not good. Still bummed this was out last night on the Keys and it was not a great experience. read more

Was good enough, something like a solid three from me. It's a smallish space with some nice sidewalk seating and sufficient service. We heard good things from friends who Love this place. So I'm no sushi snob though I sure do eat a whole lot of it thanks to acquiescing to friends and family. Here, here. lol I actually like the bento box here. You know how it is, sometimes you get a laughable ginger lettuce "salad" and miso soup or whatever, but this was just one or the other. ...otherwise, the box itself was the largest one I've seen in a long time. Check out the pics. They feed you. I'm usually hungry within an hour of eating sushi which usually includes splitting gyoza dumplings and/or spring rolls apps and this was no different big as it was. read more

Last time we were in Misohappy they said that they had bought the place next door and that they were working on getting it spruced up for an opening. You may want to ask the staff for details. :-)
