Got takeout from them to be mindful of covid as Duval st is very popular and crowded. It totally hit the spot! Huge portion of tuna in the nachos with a lot of cut avocado included (hate when it's just a slice or two.) And they gave me about 6 wonton chips which was just enough. Packaged separately so it didn't go bad or get soggy. Tuna was well marinated and soo soft and delicious. Mango sticky rice was also an excellent dessert with a good portion of mango on it. An absolute delight. A crowded Saturday PM we were the idiots who didn't make a reservation for dinner. The hostess worked hard to get the 2 of us in, and boy were we grateful she did! Food was great: a spiny lobster tempura roll and the crab Rangoon were our absolute faves. So sad I didn't snap a pic....we absolutely will be back! read more

4 of us were seated right away at 6:15 on a Thursday evening. They have a lovely table upstairs and we had the floor to ourselves! FOOD: Excellent. The pad Thai and pad Thai with shrimp were both fantastic. Large portions, plenty of veggies and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. BAR: A glass of house Chardonnay was $12 and it was a generous pour. They also have cocktails and selection of beer and saki drinks. SERVICE: Sam took wonderful care of us. She was super friendly, attentive and a pleasure throughout our entire meal. She helped us decide how spicy we wanted our meals and was quite knowledgeable of the menu. ATMOSPHERE: It has a warm, welcoming feel. i was craving sushi and yelp led me here, this place is a cute little spot with not much seating. we were seated outside because there was no space inside for us. we started off with sashimi, the salmon was the best salmon i've ever had in my life. it melts in your mouth like butter. (i didn't take any pics of it) unfortunately it started to rain but they quickly moved us indoors. for my entree i got the misohappy roll with no asparagus. i loved this roll, the portions are very generous here i couldn't eat my whole roll in one sitting! we also got a jb roll and shrimp pad thai. everybody loved their meals, this is gonna be my go to spot when i want sushi in Key west! i also want to mention the service was amazing as well! read more

Small place with lots of sushi options. We enjoyed all the rolls between the 3 of us. The special looked AMAZING but we couldn't get it due to a food allergy in the group. Not sure I would get a cocktail again, mostly because the sushi stands on its own. read more

Perfect combo of spicy Thai and fresh sushi. Sooo stuffed but this Love Key West roll with tempura lobster is a must get. We had the Shrimp Pad Thai (5 out of 5 spicy) as well and have splurged on the Lobster Pad Thai before. Never been disappointed. Thai is my favorite cuisine, and pad Thai is my favorite dish. Every time I go to a new city I try a new Thai restaurant and their pad Thai. I usually eat duck pad Thai. I had never seen lobster pad Thai on the Menu, so I was surprised to see it offered at Misohappy. It did not disappoint. The service here was amazing! It's a cute little hole in the wall and we sat upstairs feeling cozy and quaint. There were 2 servers that consistently checked on us and the sushi I ordered was great. I had green curry with beef and I shared a bento box with my grandmother. The sushi tasted really fresh and the whole bento box was delicious. The curry was good too and it was so filling I got full so fast. The whole restaurant is a bit cramped but what can you do it's a pretty dense city. The upstairs area was really cute though and our server was nice and kinda cheeky idk. I wasn't adventurous to try sushi while 8 hours away from home, so I left that up to my family and friend. That left me to order my go-to Pad Thai. This Pad Thai was arguably the best I've ever had in the continental U.S. So while I was chopsticking the hell out of the noodles, the other 4 ordered the sushi boat for 4. When they say, boat they mean a child's size yacht. I have never seen that much sushi in one sitting. We also ordered drinks, sake, a ginger drink and a lot of beer. The server was a lovely woman who put up with two very tipsy women. Based on my family's quick downing of sushi on the boat, we will definitely be back. How can you go wrong with their sushi when the ocean is at their fingertips. read more

My wife and I both agreed that this was our favorite restaurant meal we had while in key west. My friend and I came to the keys for a quick trip and met a bartender who recommended a couple places. Her top recommendation was misohappy! Sooo glad we stopped by because the sushi was delicious!! First off the rolls were huge! We're used to 8 piece rolls but these had 12. They also had a good amount of sushi and the fish was sooo fresh. Definitely recommend coming here for sushi. We stopped by misohappy last night and the food was very good. We ordered 3 different sushi rolls all of which tasted great alongside the Thai curry which another member of our group found amazing. What didn't feel spectacular was the service, from the second we started ordering an appetizer our waiter was trying to upsell us, hard, insisting one appetizer wasn't enough for the 4 of us (2 of which being young kids). Then when we went to order our dinners (one of the kids wasn't hungry at all but we ordered him a roll anyways) he continued to try to upsell us but this time in a more judgmental way by giving us weird looks and asking multiple times if he wanted another roll despite already being told he wasn't hungry. By the time we were done eating we had tons of leftovers but being continually badgered to order more left a poor impression on us especially with it being one of the priciest meals of our trip. Overall the atmosphere was very nice, it was incredibly quiet as we were one of two groups eating at the time, the food was great, but the service left a pretty poor taste in our mouths. read more

The service was not just disappointing, it was completely unprofessional and left us wondering how this restaurant is even operating at this level. First, we ordered a clam chowder the moment we sat down. This is a basic appetizer, something any restaurant should be able to bring out. Shockingly, it didn't arrive until after we finished all of our entrées. I had to ask twice about it, and the explanation we received was, "We don't prepare the ingredients ahead of time, so it takes longer." I was honestly speechless. Clam chowder is a standard menu item, how does a kitchen not have basic prep done? By the time it finally arrived, it was no longer an appetizer but an afterthought. Second, before all of our dishes were even served, the staff came and removed every piece of tableware from our table.(included a little spoon we got for my kid, I have to ask them twice to get it back from their kitchen) We were literally left without utensils while still waiting for food, especially the clam chowder that was delayed. When we asked for utensils again, it took multiple reminders before someone finally brought us a few spoons. The lack of coordination and basic common sense was shocking. Third, we were a group of five adults and one child under 1.5 years old. At checkout, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity fee, yet the restaurant provided zero service for the child. We asked for warm water to heat a baby bottle and were told, "We only have cold water here." That response alone was unbelievable. We even brought our own child seat. Worse, the server repeatedly carried plates over our child's head, and even after several reminders, continued doing so until the very last dish was served. The lack of awareness and safety consideration was truly concerning. To be specific, our server was a female staff member with an accent, and throughout the entire meal, it felt like she had zero intention of providing proper service. There was no attentiveness, no willingness to help, and absolutely no sense of responsibility that would justify a mandatory 20% service fee. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Thirsty Mermaid displayed poor communication, lack of professionalism, and a complete disregard for basic hospitality standards. We will never return, and I strongly advise other families especially those with young children, to avoid this restaurant entirely.
