The sauce was bland but I recall reading that's the traditional Italian way. It's not what I'm used to but I didn't mind it. I wouldn't return for one simple reason- the restaurant is dirtier than Ndamukong Suh. The non-slip mats on the floors are filthy, as are the walls. Even though there was only one other customer eating when we arrived, there were crumbs and trash under tables. I even saw ants crawling around the table. Just ordered delivery from here, ordered a two topping large pizza and an order of fries. Paleo, no. Delicious, yes and no. The Fries were undercooked and they are delivered in a paper basket with a piece of foil over the top, all this in a paper bag, so they really have no chance to stay hot and the foil traps the moisture, making them soggy. Cold and gooey, good for pudding, not fries. The pizza on the other hand was piping hot, good flavor on the sausage, but not much pepperoni flavor. Good cheese and a lot of it. The crust was a bit soggy on the inside of the pie, but the crust had a nice crunch and flavor. I'll order pizza again from Giuseppie's. read more

Giuseppi's used to be my goto for pizza and especially the curly fries. It's a shame to say, I will not be revisiting. I ordered two slices of Hawaiian and two slices of mushroom/green peppers. The Hawaiian was missing pineapples and the mushroom/green peppers were never cooked. I then received 4 slices of burnt dough(I couldn't even fold in half), dried up tomato sauce, and plastic cheese that looked like it had been nuked. What made my experience even worse, I watched the guy pick off the burnt pieces with his bare hands. All in all, I question if Giuseppi's passion for pizza is truly there. If the restaurant was truly family operated, I would have never been served pizza like I did today. read more

This is the absolute best pizza in Maryland. It tastes sooooo good but you have to get a pizza, as the slices are reheated and don't taste as great. I want to give be this place 5 stars but on my recent trip I used the restroom and I have to say, it was incredibly gross. The floor was wet and clearly mopped (no sign for a wet floor) but it wasn't even close to clean. There is grime and so much dirt everywhere. Please please please close the bathroom and clean it properly or even better remodel it. I think the walls are plastic sheeting that is so textured that it's not easy to keep clean. I love this place. They have this everyday special where you get 2 slices of cheese pizza and a medium fountain soda for 4.50 and 50 cents for additional toppings. Their pizza is (typically) not greasy at all and full of flavor. Their sauce is delicious and not overbearing and they have these huge pieces of feathered mozzerella that melts on the pizza to perfect. The only thing that gets me is their crust is missing something that steers it from being the best slice in the Gaithersburg area. The crust is perfectly crispy but towards the end, after all the cheese and sauce is gone, it falls short by itself. But who cares, I go anyway, add a little garlic and forget my troubles. The staff there is very friendly and laid back and they are fast too. I can get in and out and then run errands on my lunch break. It is a must try! The pizza isn't the only thing that keeps be coming back. They hav a Hot Chicken Salad that is basically a regular salad that is topped with their yummy feathered mozzerella, well seasoned grilled chicken and fried onions! Praise [enter your preferred spiritual leader here]!!!! This salad is a silent moment of bliss! The only other item I have tried on this menu is the Italian Cold Cut Sub. My roommate introduced me to their subs and she was definitely right. One of the best I have ever had. So Kudos to them! I haven't tried much else though the menu does seem intriguing. The everyday special hits the spot everytime and I tend to stay comfortable with that. You know what, I am going to challenge myself and try something different here. Updates to come! I ordered a pizza in the Kentlands location, the staff was pleasant and I sat down to eat it. While I was eating, a couple came in (the owners I was told) and walked behind the counter in their street clothes to talk to the manager/pizza maker. This is where the cheese topping, meats, etc. are for the pizzas and the preparation is done and baked in the oven. They were walking back and forth and both started to pick up the mozzarella cheese with their bare, unwashed hands and other toppings, standing there eating it while talking to the manager. It was very unsanitary, disgusting and inappropriate behavior. The bathroom was also dirty and needed cleaning. The whole restaurant could use a good cleaning and better organization. Solid pizza joint.... they 2 slice and a soda special is a great deal but if you have more than one person you would be better of buying a hot fresh pie. The reheated slices are far less tasty than a fresh pie from the oven that has the toppings cooked with it, rather than thrown on for the reheat. If you order onions, they put far too many on and if you get them with the slices, they are raw, so you are eating slightly warmed raw onions. The crust is doughy and they often don't bring the sauce out far enough so you are left with a big crust... that, and they don't hold back on the cheese, so you get some grease and goo... better to let the pizza cool a few minutes to start the congeal. The subs are good, fries are curly. Decent salads, especially like the hot chicken salad. Bonus that they sell beer too. Service is also efficient. The interior could greatly benefit from an upgrade to make it feel like a restaurant vs. a carry-out... They have all tables, bright lights and a very high unfinished industrial ceiling.... how about putting in some booths around the perimeter and a drop ceiling? Great for kids, but you end up dropping unnecessary dollars on their arcade games. Personally I would be better off without them. read more

I used to love this place, and the pizza special is still great. HOWEVER, the last couple times I have been in, the grownups all seem to have stayed home. Good food cannot make up for being served by rude or disinterested kids. They all seemed to be having fun, but that is not what I am paying for. Made to order the closest thing to Jersey pizza you can get right here in the Kentlands. We can typically order wings, two slices and two 12 inch cheeseburger subs for an amazing price. Great place to have a pizza party or enjoy the outside seating. Did I mention the cheeseburger subs are the best around?!
