We celebrated my birthday at Gitano NYC with a group of 10, and it was everything I hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredibly attentive, warm, and professional. Every detail was taken care of; they even customized the header of the menus for my group. Our servers made sure we felt celebrated and taken care of the entire night. Because we were a larger group, we did family-style dining, which turned out to be perfect. It gave us the chance to try a bit of everything, and honestly, every single dish was a hit. We started with the guacamole and ceviche, both super fresh and full of flavor. For mains, we shared steak, chicken, and bass, all perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The steak was juicy and flavorful, the chicken was tender with just the right amount of char, and the bass was light and flaky with a gorgeous sauce. And then came dessert...chef's kiss. The cheesecake was creamy and not too sweet, and the churros were warm, crisp, and totally addictive. They disappeared in seconds! The ambiance is unmatched. It was lush, tropical, and feels like an escape right in the middle of NYC. It was the perfect backdrop for a birthday celebration, and I honestly can't recommend Gitano enough for a special occasion or a chic night out with friends. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful interior. Service was good. The food was flavorful but the portions were average to small and the appetizers were hard to share. Mocktail was delicious. If you want good vibes and fresh food and don't mind paying extra for small portions, this is a spot for you. If you want a good value, not so much. Definitely more of an experience than a true foodie spot although most items were good quality. Skip the roasted cauliflower and get the sea bass or the roasted chicken.

I stopped by Gitano for drinks with a friend. It has a unique jungle like themed vibe inside. The food and drinks are not bad. They were able to accommodate for a nut allergy. I would stop by again.

This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. The apps were amazing and filling, we shared with 5 people. The drinks were yummy. They even gave us a drink on the house! I will definitely be coming back and trying some more dishes. The ambiance of the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing.

Great new spot! Having been a patron of Gitano's in Tulum, Varick St, and Governor's Island, I was excited for them to move into a more permanent, weather-friendly space while keeping the amazing views. The restaurant is stunning and I love the scale of the high ceilings, with tall bars, giant chandeliers, and a massive disco ball to balance. The service was mostly good. The host stand needs to greet people immediately instead of keeping their heads down for several minutes until they are done with what they're doing. All the service staff had vibrant, fun personalities. We felt very taken care of. Noticed the clearing got a bit too aggressive with the servers having tried to grab 3 different cocktails before I was finished. A simple "May I take that for you" instead of touching the drink goes a long way... which was ironic, because when we got up to dance at the end of the night, they left all of the dishes on our table for over an hour. The music was GREAT. I'm a bit of a music snob having worked in the industry for several years, but the first DJ played some of my favorite house tracks and the second DJ kept the energy going. I love that the area near the DJ booth turned into a dance floor at around 11pm. This is a LATE crowd. The restaurant didn't fill up until about 10pm. The cocktails were great, but you MUST like mezcal, because 8 out of 11 of them contain mezcal. lol And finally... the FOOD! It was fantastic. Every dish was complex and bursting with a symphony of flavors that were perfectly balanced. We had the cotija cheese, ceviche, and lobster was sent compliments of the chef! All were fantastic. And it was great to see so many gluten-free options!! I will definitely be back.

Very vibey spot in Seaport, doesn't even feel like you're in New York. There's a dj and open air into the dining area which was super nice especially on a warm night. The food was OK, we got the carne asada, guacamole, a queso dish, and churros.

I wanted an extravagant night for Halloween so we opted for Gitano's death and opulence dinner and party. We were not disappointed, the dramatic Tulum inspired decor transported us to Mexico, the beautiful views of the Bk bridge brought us back :) the food was plentiful and delicious, outstanding dishes included the ceviche, beet salad, salmon and lemon cheesecake. Not sure if these dishes are on their regular menu but if they are, you couldn't go wrong if you ordered them. The service was wonderful there were a lot of people and I'll admit that our waitress got distracted by larger tables but in order to make it up to us, she gave us two glasses of wine on the house. The party was fun! Great music and the crowd was great. I'll be coming back!

Mains, carne asada, lamb birria tacos, salmon cooked perfectly, and another order of the fish ceviche!

Was pleasantly surprised with this new permanent outpost of Gitano. I always had solid experiences at the pop up but this restaurant truly impressed me. The space is stunning, the food was so good and so fresh, and the service was top tier. Just also want to give a shoutout to Chef Sebastian and the team for such a fabulous experience. Perfect for a date or a girls night. Will definitely be back!

From the entrance to the floor to ceiling windows the entire scenery is set up beautifully. The checkered tile and draped chandeliers were stunning. They had performers and it was girls night so that was unexpected but fun! The service was pretty good, in the beginning they wanted to take our unfinished food an odd amount of times and then kinda went ghost in the end but we enjoyed our time. The food was spectacular, we ordered only apps and drinks but 10/10. Would recommend!

Gitano NYC is all about atmosphere--lush greenery, oversized woven fixtures, and a sparkling disco ball set the stage for a transportive dining experience. The cocktails are beautifully executed, and the food was a standout. We ordered the whipped cotija, which was rich and velvety, the duck huarache packed with bold flavor and a touch of heat, and the lobster tostada--a must-order. It was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. A stylish spot that delivers both ambiance and substance--ideal for a night out that feels a little extra.

My friend and I originally came here for the aesthetics. We'd read so many reviews hyping up the vibe that we figured the food would just be a bonus. But honestly? The reviews didn't do this place any justice. The food blew us away--flavorful, fresh, and absolutely worth coming back for. I'm already planning to bring more friends next time! While the prices are on the higher side, you're also paying for an unbeatable view of the Brooklyn Bridge, which makes the experience totally worth it. The service was quick and friendly, and the ambiance? Amazing. At night, they even have a live DJ that takes the vibe to the next level. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. It gets busy for a reason. Overall, this spot exceeded our expectations. Great food, great vibes, and a view that seals the deal. Can't wait to go back!

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
