The steak was amazing! Right around the corner from the Grand Flora. Strongly recommend.

Stayed at Westin nearby and asked concierge where I could get good carbonara within walking distance, and this is where he suggested. It was only 3 blocks away, and easy to find. The ambiance was traditional, but not too fancy. Funny - the server asked me if I wanted to order carbonara! Maybe the concierge already told ahead or it was written on my face...??? Carbonara was not too heavy/rich that you might see in the US, and it was not salty. The pasta was cooked al dente, of course! It was accompanied by good Chianti Classico that was recommended by the server: perfect match. Unlike other restaurants in Rome, they did not try to oversell anything which was appreciated.

Great place. Cozy and excellent service. The best place we have eaten in Rome. Staff was very friendly and professional. Food was very tasty. Good pasta e fagiole and ossobucco. Drinks were prepared perfectly. Definitely will come back. The desserts were very fresh.

    The delish tortellini

Food was all delicious, the pasta was fresh and awesome. My daughter had the lasagna which was amazing, the tortellini with cream sauce was wonderful. Hubby had the spaghetti carbonara and that was so good as well. I will say the green salad literally was all greens, not great. The veal was just okay and the bread was a little burnt but still 4 stars...I would do 4.5 if I could. Service was excellent, very cozy restaurant. Definitely would visit again!

My wife and I went here tonite for dinner on the recommendation of our private your guide. It's a cozy place with a very friendly wait staff. They 1st bring you a fresh bowl of olives and toasted French bread with olive oil brushed on it. We both had soup as the 1st course. I had the vegetable minestrone which was great. My wife had tortellini soup which she enjoyed. I also accompanied my meal with 2 glasses of moscato, which I thought was the best wine I've had in Italy so far. For the main course I ordered Veal Milanese and my wife ordered the T bone steak. The T bone steak was just fair full of lots of gristle, but the Veal was lovely. We finished the meal with huge cuts of watermelon!

This is a really uninspiring dessert menu.

Meh. Went here from a zagat recommendation but should of listen to Yelp. Food was mediocre at best. I've made better minestrone soup. Porcini pasta was good. Dessert menu was not inspiring at all. The tiramisu was watery.

Three days in Rome and three meals at this restaurant. It is warm and inviting. The house red wine is better than any we tried during our three days. There is no automatic gratuity percentage. Black olives with zest of lemon and orange are served immediately upon seating. Toasted Tuscan bread served thereafter. The mixed antipasto included prosciutto with the freshest, ripest, sweetest melon, Italian meats, mozzarella, outstanding meatballs and sauce, olives, and roasted zucchini. The pasta and sauces (we tried three different ones) were unparalleled. The butter and sage ricotta ravioli was unbelievable. The price point is reasonable and less than many other restaurants without the same quality of food. The chef is awesome and the flavor profiles are outstanding. Pricing: For example, tagliatelle con fungi porcini is 14 euros. Spaghetti alle Vongole is 18 euros. The service is professional and fabulous. We felt like we were treated like family.

One of the best in Rome. My father has going there for 40 years. I only went once and was happy I did. My son is going next month

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, coated in the creamiest, silkiest sauce, and the Parmesan cheese was absolutely heavenly. Simple ingredients, flawless execution. I also had the berry cheesecake, and it was just as amazing. Light, creamy, not too sweet, and the berry topping tied everything together perfectly. Pure heaven from start to finish. From the food to the experience, this place is a must when you're in Rome. I'd come back again and again without hesitation.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Great first meal in Rome!…read more I loved my artichoke pasta dish with bacon, it was a daily special. The amaretto dessert was delicious! Carbonara was super al dente. Seafood risotto was fresh. Grilled radicchio was like stir fried. Dinner for 3 for 77 euros, impressively busy for a Tuesday night. Friendly staff, easy for English speakers. :)
