Tried Gio's Flying Pizza in Dickinson and had a really good experience overall. We ordered the toasted ravioli to start--crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the marinara. We went with a build-your-own pizza, and it definitely hit the spot. The crust had a nice balance of crispy and chewy, and the toppings tasted fresh without being overloaded. Shoutout to our server, Julian--he was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out right. Service like that always makes a difference. Spicey eggrolls I always order the item. Have I never recvd them the time I ordered for over years. This is not the same wrap they put ingredients in. It's literally for Chinese eggrolls. They use another wrap for this entree. Called and spoke with mgr she stated it the same wrap.i don't want refund I want to original wrap. Don't skimp on ingredients. To save a buck. We have ordered pizza from here several times in the past. This was our first time dining inside. We were seated immediately and the staff was friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is clean. We were given some bread and seasoned olive oil as a pre dinner snack. I asked for some balsamic to add to the oil. The bread was cold and maybe could have been given a light toast to warm it up. I ordered the Pork Valdostana. This was delicious. I had never heard of this before and felt adventurous. I would have loved to give 5 stars however, we were kind of forgotten by our waitress. We waited a long time for refills on our drinks. We finally asked a very nice woman, the one passing out the bread, and she asked our waitress for our refills. We also ordered Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, this came with fried chicken, not sure if grilled is an option. Baked Ziti, and San Gerrero (Sausage and Peppers). We went for lunch before New Years and I opted for the pick 3 lunch combo. The salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and tasty. The half sausage and peppers hoagie was also good but the Italian Wedding soup wad terrible. It has no taste and resembled a canned soup. We eat here often and this is not the typical experience - I would steer from this particular soup. My husband had tried and enjoyed the tomato basil before and I suspect the pasta fagiole is also good. My husband got his typical chicken parmigiana which is huge and consistently good. Came here with friends on a busy Friday night. Very family-friendly restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Super busy. Our waiter, Brandon, was friendly even though it was clear that all the servers were in the weeds. My husband and I ordered the beef cannelloni and the chicken parmigiana. I had the spaghetti substituted with fettuccini alfredo. We also ordered a bruschetta for the table. We first got complimentary bread and olive oil, which was a nice teaser. The olive oil mixed with garlic and other herbs was excellent. We waited a while for our appetizer, and it arrived along with our entrees. The bruschetta was also served in a way that was weird to us: the bread is separate from the tomatoes/cheese toppings. It tasted all right but it wasn't anything special. Also, by then, we were onto entrees, so what was the point of the appetizer? The chicken parmigiana was very good. Generous portion, came out hot, well-seasoned. The fettuccini alfredo was bad. The sauce is watery and flavorless. For an additional $1.99 to replace the side spaghetti was definitely not worth it. A friend of mine ordered an entire bowl of fettuccini alfredo with chicken and she said the same about the sauce. Chicken, good. Sauce, not so good. My husband's beef cannelloni was good, he said. Overall, the food was meh. Some highs, some lows. Brandon, who we never saw after our food arrived, came by towards the end of the meal to refill drinks (most of our glasses were empty by then), and he refilled my husband's Diet Coke with Dr. Pepper. Weirdly, not one person came by to pick up any used or empty plates that we'd conveniently placed at the edge of the table. Yeah, it was time to go. I don't think I will return to Gio's, at least not for dining in. Maybe their take-out pizza is better. Maybe they were just having an off-night. Maybe they're short-staffed. I loved Gios Flying Pizza and Pasta! We went on a whim, hungry and later in the evening. Very few restaurants were open. We were impressed from the moment we walked in. Everyone was super friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and had a family feeling. Hugo, our waiter, was phenomenal! He was patient, friendly, kind, made recommendations and took his time with us. The dipping sauce that came with the bread was the best I've ever had! We ordered a large meat pizza. It was huge and jam packed with toppings. The meatball sub and fries were great as well. Took my mom here for Mother's Day 2020 lunch. I'm very impressed with how the eatery took serious precautions when it comes to fighting COVID-19. The staff wore gloves and masks and practiced social distancing. Speaking of social distancing, tables were marked to separate diners. And yes, we enjoyed our meals. I usually get the lasagna, and it rocked! The boneless buffalo wings packed a tangy punch. We chanced upon this place when we needed a lunch. Crowd is definitely 65+ and lots of blue hair but makes it feel like a local place. Good for families as well. Service was prompt and friendly and the manager / lead pie thrower also came out to ask how our food was which says a lot. We got a large pep so can't comment on anything else. As far as pizza, it's probably one of the best I've had in TX (I'm from Boston). Didn't expect to be as good as it was. Also have a really good draft selection. Small but nice mix of craft and macro. They need friendlier managers here. I tried to apply for a server position and the GM or whatever was rather difficult, confusing and surly to talk to. I asked when I could set up an interview and she said "it needed to be discussed through Indeed" or nothing. Uh ok? We have been eating at Gio's for almost 10 years. The food is consistently good. We have had multiple items from here over the years. They have pretty good Italian dishes. The atmosphere is very casual. They can also accommodate larger groups if needed by pushing tables together. Additionally, this is the only place we will order pizza for delivery. Although they are located in Dickinson, they will deliver to parts of League City. All of these years, they are fairly accurate with the estimated delivery time given over the phone and the actual time your order is delivered to your residence. Bottom line - Gio's is an easy five star review. The food is consistently good (dine-in, carry-out, or delivered). Deliveries are consistently on time. What more can you ask for? My first (and so far only) time eating at Gio's Flying Pizza was outstanding. It was literally right at closing time when our party of 3 walked in their door. The staff welcomed us with open arms and served us an amazing pizza and ravioli. The food and service were excellent and gracious. I even accidentally spilled a beer on the floor (I felt horrible about it) and even that couldn't flap them. I was just visiting at the time (from Dallas) but will be quick to return when next I visit Dickenson. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! read more

Well, I don't know for sure if Gio's is owned by Italians or not, but I would be willing to bet a lot of money that it is! This is true Italian food. Lasagna has pillowy pasta that makes it just melt in your mouth. Their sauces are all amazing - from marinara to Alfredo. Nothing canned except maybe the tomatoes? The tortellini is great too. Everything I've had here is absolutely outstanding and huge portions with great prices to boot. Biggest thing for me is they deliver - you know - that thing many restaurants used to do with their own staff before the Doordashs of the world took over? This is the best local pizza shop and Italian restaurant. I recently had them for dinner two nights this week. The first night I tried the Chicken Gios with spaghetti. The chicken was so delicious and flavorful in a butter wine sauce with mushrooms. Tonight, I had their pizza Bianco, meat special pizza, and portobello mushroom fries. Everything was outstanding! Ordered takeout from here for an early dinner tonight--they charge a small delivery fee to deliver and we took them up on it, so less than an hour later (about 40 minutes), the food arrived packaged really well an piping hot. We didn't order pizza this time that is what they are 'known' for, but instead we ordered our go-to favorite, the tortelini al a panna. It is so creamy with bits of ham and sundried tomatoes (though my son get the without the tomatoes. I also got crab cakes which were tasty but I tiny bit greasy. The bruschetta was as yummy as ever. Good stuff with crunchy toast to go with it. For my sister, I got the mushrooms with cream sauce. She loved them. The salads were kept separate from the hot food so they stayed cold and didn't get warm and wilted. The salad dressing is quite tasty--I think it's a balsamic dressing with lots of flavor.
