My first time having deep dish and I am a fan! I was just back in the country from vacay and had an overnight layover in Chicago. I already knew I wanted to try deep dish so I asked our shuttle driver for his recommendations. His first place was Giordano's and they delivered to the hotel. Perfect! Especially after a long flight and a long travel day. I called and placed the order super easy and they said it was going to take about an hour and a half but it ended up coming in about one hour. Which again was perfect because we were able to shower and relax before it got there. Anywho, the pizza! Soooooooooooo big LOL and sooooooooooo damn good. I ordered the veggie and it was everything I needed. My sole complaint is you really need some sturdy utensils to fully enjoy this pizza lol. The plastic utensils that came with it worked but I was always nervous it was about to snap haha. This pizza was so good I brought it back to Charlotte with me and ate it for the next 2 days LOL. What do you have to eat before leaving Chicago? You have to try a deep dish pizza!!! I looked up in yelp if there was any place I could find a good Chicago deep dish and Giordano's had a good number of reviews. I read through the good and bad reviews then asked the concierge what they recommended. They recommended Giordano's! I guess I better go! Staying near the free shuttle loop- they told me to get off at the CTA stop and walk on River Street towards McDonalds. It was a nice stroll. I got to the restaurant a few minutes early, was seated and received great service. I was by myself and couldn't do much with leftovers so I didn't want anything too big. I could have built my own for $18+ or settle with a one choice lunch special combo for $10. I chose the lunch special and you can choose soup, salad or fries. I chose the tomato basil and real Italian sausage deep dish. Customer service was awesome! A very sweet lady that took some time to explain the sizes, refilled my water and brought me extra napkins and just came by to check on me often. Thank you for a great experience! My father-in-law Bill passed away in August 2025 in St. Louis, but a lot of our family members are elderly and still in Chi, so we had a life celebration/memorial at Giordano's in September. It is a FANTASTIC place and they took great care of us. The manager Jim K. was awesome. Very flexible and accommodating as we planned the event from our home in St. Louis. The prices are a steal for the quality of the food, which is phenomenal. The wait staff were top notch as well. Drink refills appeared before you asked, and they were present but not intrusive; perfect for our situation. In addition, they partner with a company that provides photographers, so we now have professional pictures of the family to memorialize the event. A pleasant surprise! All I can say is wow! My first time in Chicago trying deep dish I was presented with so many options and Giordano's was one of the them but I decided on another option that someone said "was the best". They were absolutely wrong. After a 45 minute wait for our pizza, we chatted while our stomachs ate themselves, our food came out. The food was WELL worth the wait. First off can you see the cheese pull?! They wait for you so you can capture it for social media/ pictures which made the Yelper/social media girlie in me internally screech. The temperature of the sauce was scalding but that didn't stop me from going back bite after bite. Tastebuds smcht who needs those The pizza was a burst of flavor in every bite and made me regret ever seeing anything but Giordano's. Some guys will never cheat on their barber, I will never cheat on my Chicago deep dish pizza place. In my honest opinion, Giordano's Deep Dish Pizza is one of, if not, the best deep dish Pizzas I've eaten. It's filled with pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. The crust has sort a pie crust, flakiness and very tasty. Of course I went with deep dish but you can get thin crust. The pics and videos I posted; that's considered a small size deep dish. You can still share it with another person especially if you've eaten an appetizer or two. I had the calamari, which is pretty good. The place itself is clean and the service is good. Our waiter was attentive and had a nice personality. Wish I would've gotten his name. The first time I went to Chicago, we had went to the one downtown and the one by Midway Airport. This 2nd time around we went to the one located in Rosemont. Don't know how I missed this on the previous visits but I noticed those making the pizza could be seen behind a glass window from our table. I spent my first night in Chicago next-door I thought it would come over and check this place out. The staff was friendly but the food was a huge disappointment. We had a medium Chicago style pie. So tasty and so filling. One partner had the Chicken Parmesan and was happy with the flavor and size of the meal. Our group shared the sampler appetizer; enjoying the cheese bread, mozzarella wedges and breaded chicken nuggets. The drinks we had at the bar pre-dinner were also well done. Had a great meal at Giordano's with my family! We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked over to Giordano's for early dinner. We were seated right away without a reservation, probably because it was in between hours of lunch and dinner. Still, there were good amount of people dining at the restaurant. We ordered chopped salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, and bacon bbq chicken deep dish pizza. Everything was delish! Spaghetti was surprisingly delicious. Chopped salad has blue cheese in it, so if you are not into blue cheese, consider ordering without it. Bacon bbq deep dish pizza was a good choice since we already had tomato based pasta. The Giordano's at this location has apparently fallen by the wayside and I hope it doesn't reflect the service and food at other locations. We arrived and you can immediately sense the service wasn't going to be good. Like any organization, a restaurant's management reflects the kind of service it provides and the employees here didn't seem engaged at all. We immediately ordered drinks and two pizzas (1 thin crust margherita and 1 stuffed). Both pizzas took forever to come out and interestingly they came out only after asking how much longer it would be. As for the food, the sodas were the highlight of the meal.... the margherita pizza had obviously been sitting around for a while (the cheese had hardened and looked "dull, off-white") and the stuffed was not very hot. What the heck? Did I just order for delivery by motorcycle?? And why didn't they just bring out the thin crust before the stuffed pizza? Lastly, both pizzas had parmesan when we expressly asked the waitress to not put parmesan on both pizzas. Lame. Won't be going to back. Looks like Lou's and Pequod's from here on out. read more
