Londoners loved their first tavern style pizza, thin, crisp and delicious. Nick's friendliness and attention made the experience even better. And the ambiance of this simple, "red checkered table cloth" strip mall eatery was the perfect setting for the out-of-towners.

After a frustrating loss at the rink, we needed to eat our emotions and we chose wisely with Spunitos pizza. There wasn't a single item that was less than superb. The customer service was excellent, they had fantastic suggestions, took our order straight away and refilled our drinks quickly. The pizza and sauces blew my mind. Their "thin crust@ isn't like a STL thin crust thank goodness. It is cut the same in squares but has a chew to the crust unlike the cracker type of St Louis thin. Mozzarella sticks and sauce (seriously, I want to buy a tub of this sauce) were hot, fresh and oh so cheesy. We also devoured wings, fried ravioli and cannelloni.

We got a little of everything but what we were in search of was an Italian beef sandwich and they got it just right!! Very satisfying. Custom pizza- cheese and anchovies, a sub, and calamari as well. All were great and I'd definitely go back! The staff was very kind and helpful. There was even some very rude people at a table in there and we witnessed the stuff handle them beautifully. It's a hole in the wall, not fancy, but delicious!

Nick & the staff at Spuntino's are amazing! Just catered from them on Tuesday with less than 24 hours noticed. Everything was outstanding! Neighbors loved it! You're asleep if you don't dine from this true gem.

Garlic Bread

My boyfriend and I visited this place on our first trip to Chicago, it was the first place we ate at and oh my it was so delicious. I got the chicken parm, we also got the garlic breadsticks, and my boyfriend got one of the deep dish pizzas. We left happy and full for sure. The breadsticks were so unique in the way they were made, I personally haven't seen anything like it and the sauce it came with was so flavorful. My chicken parm was so so flavorful, fresh and my pasta was cooked perfectly. Not to mention the lovely server we had. He was kind, very helpful and had great conversation. It is kinda a small place so I wouldn't go with a big party unless you maybe call ahead, but it was clean and you can tell they care about their establishment and customers. Overall 5 stars across the board!

Hmm ..So we tried Spuntino's Pizza because it was in close proximity to our hotel in addition to being listed as the first place on Yelp..the reviews were ok but I wanted to give it a shot. We decided to dig in for a deep dish cheese pizza...after all we're in Chicago right! I opted for a thin crust Pepperoni and it was "ok" kinda salty! My bestie opted for Deep Dish cheese and it was VERY wet, the prosciutto tasted sour and old, and it was not a good taste. The service was "ok"...I was very shocked how we were treated...we were actually called "tourists" and when we asked for a suggestion as we were advised they were the best...the owner said, "look at the menu...aren't you here for pizza?!" can you say rude and disrespectful?! The ambiance was horrible..it's a hole in the wall type of pizza place..there was more junk behind the curtain than I cared to see and how do you have a dine in restaurant without a restroom or the use of hand sanitizer?! Come on...we have to think smart here. I am always up for small family owned restaurants but please remember to treat your customers with respect and kindness. Although we received horrible service and the pizza wasn't great, we still left at 22% tip.

I never had Detroit style pizza before- and theirs is amazing! Even non-GF eaters love it and there is no way you would guess it is GF. My newest favorite is a GF Detroit with the Verona toppings and instead of chicken I get sausage or bacon. AND another bonus is that it re-heats equally well in the microwave or the regular oven.....even the 2nd or 3rd day after you get it! Unheard of, for any kind of pizza!! Their order takers and delivery folks are great- and the prices sre more than fair.

My absolute favorite was the Cavatelli Vodka. I'm a sucker for good vodka pasta and this one was creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best pasta dishes I've had in the suburbs. The pizza was also really solid with a crispy crust, and I love that they offer several different crust options to switch it up next time. To end the meal, I had fried dough topped with Nutella and it was the perfect sweet bite fresh, warm, and so tasty. The service here really stood out too. My server was kind and attentive, and I even got to meet Sarah, one of the owners, who was so welcoming and friendly. The whole team made the place feel warm and inviting. They have multiple locations, but the Park Ridge one has a great atmosphere and even a cute patio for nicer weather. It does get busy, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. Great spot for pasta, pizza, and a cozy meal.

We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.

I came to meet some folks and we sat at the bar. They have an extensive beverage program here, including mocktails, and that's what I settled on. I got one called Strawberry-Basil something, and it was so good. The strawberry-basil shrub was a key ingredient, and I don't get to a lot of places that use a shrub in their drinks. There was definitely a STRONG vinegar taste but for me, that was great. I also ordered a pasta dish, orecchiette and sausage with peas and a sweet, creamy sauce. Orecchiette and sausage are such a classic combo and I hadn't had this sauce before; it was a pleasant dish and was perfectly al dente. Service was good for the bar area. There's parking around, both in the lot right outside and the public parking lot below. And then of course there's the lots by the library and whatnot, so you should be able to find something.

My husband ordered the polo Venito and since I can't have tomatoes, our waiter recommended the fettuccine Alfredo so I ordered that. I'm pleased to say that Dino's 50/50 (pep/easy garlic) thin crust was supremely delicious. Sauce, cheese, and crust texture came together with perfect oven timing, neither undercooked or burnt. One important note that supersedes this restaurant and applies to everyone I've patronized in the Jeff-park area. 9/10 thin crust pizza orders come tavern style, whether it's advertised or not. The ingredients cover the entire pizza, there is little to no crust. I may be a traditionalist, but I cherish my pizza crust- there should be at least an inch from the edge and it's absurd to require a special instruction note upon ordering. Many locations have insisted that the onus is mine, and to take responsibility for my crust or suffer the cheesy consequences. Some require the specific length, 1-1/2" space, so it's a well noted, crystal clear, directive. With that being said, Dinos has made my list of "favorite pizza with crust caveats" but I'm looking forward to the next order.

We came for the pizza, and it wasn't bad. We got a thin crust sausage, and the sausage was great. Thin crust isn't really my jam, though, and cracker crust especially. The crust was a little bland for my tastes in addition to being a cracker thin pizza. The place was really noisy, which was good in that our kids couldn't possibly bother anyone but bad because I could barely hear the woman sitting across from me when she talked, let alone a woman a couple seats down. Having to shout to be heard isn't really pleasant for me. But it was a busy night, being near the holidays, so maybe that's atypical? Then again, the room in which you enter is much smaller and quieter, so it may just be that it would have been loud regardless. Parking is practically nonexistent. There seems to be a small parking lot just west of the building, but it has maybe 10 parking spots. It also was a really tight lot; I drove through and there seemed to be just enough space to do that. On the side street to the east it's permit parking only so we almost had to skip joining the others but got lucky in finding a spot just before calling it quits.
