We were there on Saturday night for a 90th birthday party. We had made reservations and were a party of 15. It was a huge success! I had a special cake delivered which was perfectly handled. The manager Luis could not have been nicer! Everyone knew we were coming and knew we were celebrating a special birthday. I didn't get the server's name but she was on her toes the whole evening, making sure our orders were served, drinks refreshed, additional wine and beer requests handled and take home well packaged and bagged. The server and bus personnel worked perfectly as a team. The food was delicious and extra plentiful. We had salads, pastas and pizzas. Pastas and pizzas arrived at the table hot and super tasty. What was especially lovely is that we were not rushed out of the restaurant so everyone could table hop and visit. And I loved that the server asked how we wanted the cake presented. She brought it out, candles lit and made sure that we got the "happy birthday" song started while she approached the table. My brother-in-law was very touched. As we were leaving Luis made sure to acknowledge my brother-in-law and sister and thank them. All in all just a great and memorable evening and made more special by the staff. read more

We had a sausage, pepperoni and spinsch stuffed pizza. It was very good but something was off a bit. We thought it was the spinach. Maybe too much so it didn't cook thoroughly. Service was very good. Although I'm used to servers identifying themselves so as to get their attention you don't have to say "Hey, you!" Atmosphere...nice and clean. I put an order in online, and got my ETA, paid online and went on about my business. I showed up around the time they said it was going to be done and when i requested pick up for. Mind you, i am from out of town and had a train to catch to get home to MI. When i arrived to the restaurant and talked to the woman at the counter she told me that my order had not yet been started, so i ask how long it would take to expedite it, and she said 30-45 minutes. I was on a pretty tight schedule so i asked her to just refund my money. She explained that because it was an online order she couldn't do that and had to get a manager. As soon as the manager came out we confirmed my name and that my order was actually completed and i was good to go. Ordered takeout from here and got the deep dish (half and half). On one half I got toppings that make up the "Special" deep dish and on the other half I got an assortment of vegetables. I would say it was very solid deep dish, but compared to deep dish I've had at other well known Chicago deep dish restaurants it was not my favorite. The crust is thick which I enjoyed, but not as crispy as I like on the bottom (maybe this had to do with it being takeout?) and the crust was also not super tasty. Coming here to Giordanos I was ready for an experience some would call spiritual. My oh my was I right! Having to order about 30 minutes before we sat down was pretty clutch! Having tried the other popular deep dish spots, I'm afraid I like Giordano's the least because of their drier and more boring crust: not buttery or crispy (Lou Malnati's and Pequod's) and no cornmeal (Gino's). Don't get me wrong, it's still SOLID deep dish for a great price. The fillings and cheese-to-vegetable-to-meat ratios are similar to its competitors. Came after the Cubs game... Worst decision we could've made. We were quoted 20-30 minutes. We waited..and waited and waited. 1.5 hours later, and looking at 15 tables open but not clean I went up to the Hostess stand and asked her what the hell was goin on. Long story short, they're completely understaffed and untrained. So under staffed that a nice family helped the staff clean up the dirty tables... I ordered our pizza half way into our long wait. Luckily, we got it 10 minutes after sitting down. We also ordered a salad... the salad came 3 minutes before the pizza arrived to our table... our pizza was cold. We received our salad, but no silverware. We picked up our own unused silverware roll ups from the empty dirty tables nearby. Pizza tasted decent even at room temp. Where's the owner/management of this location?...Why aren't you here washing plates, cleaning tables and helping out... you suck! Oh my goodness! I saved this visit for last and I'm glad that I did! I skipped the appetizers and went straight to the pizza. Keep in mind that it'll take 45 minutes to cook a deep dish stuffed pizza here, no matter the size. I had a lovely waitress, Skye, waiting on me and she couldn't have been more attentive. I ordered the deep dish small stuffed pizza which comes with 6 slices and can feed 2-3 people. All I could fit in my belly was 3 slices, so I gave the remaining 3 slices to a homeless man who had wandered in. The pizza was HOT, and the cheese was melted throughout the pizza. I had the Chicago Classic which had pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. Not being a fan of the last 3 items typically on my pizza, this pizza was FANTASTIC! I have usually had good experiences at other Giordano's but we just ordered delivery from here and our food was so bad I felt I had to leave this review. I ordered a small veggie pizza and said no olives. I opened my pizza box to see a pizza that instead had extra olives. I ate a slice of the thin crust and couldn't eat another - it tastes closer to a Lunchables pizza on a cracker than it does an actual pizza worth $20. I feel it sitting in my stomach now, taunting me. The garlic bread was burnt so badly that it hurt to bite into. Fettuccine Alfredo was Olive Garden quality for double the price. Oof. I would stay away from this location if I were you, or better yet, just go to Lou's. read more

We popped into Giordano's to get our Chicago deep dish fix. It was a weird time of day (like 3:30 or 4p) so the place was pretty quiet. They sat us in a booth by the window and the waiter came right out. First issue I had is we ordered a pitcher and they needed to change the keg - that is fine, but the waiter just brought us out two pints and then a pitcher - which of course he charged us for. I would have preferred him to come out and tell us they keg change would take awhile and let us choose if we wanted another beer or to wait. In the end we had way more beer than we ordered or needed. The other issue I had was that since deep dish takes SO long to cook the waiter goes MIA for a better part of an hour and forever after he served us. So low marks on service. The pizza however was so yummy! Tons of cheese, crispy butter crust and tons of flavor. It was terrific, as was the cheesy bread we had to start.
