Wait time after the baseball game was normal. About 45 minutes. First time to eat a deep dish pizza. I think this is the place to go! Sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms. 10/10 Crust was not overly soggy Lots of cheese and toppings Cheese pull was on point Sampler plate 8/10 Average sides Ambiance was relaxed and kid friendly Wait time for the pizza was 40 minutes. Pizza was hot and fresh Wait staff was friendly

The inside looks like a typical pizza parlor, very clean, and nicely laid out. The hostess was a bit curt, but I get it when she has a line forming around the whole block. Ordered the $10.99 lunch special: personal pepperoni deep dish pizza with the parmesean fries. The novelty of a Chicago style pizza is great, but the pizza itself (at least at this vendor) is rather normal. I also tasted the Margherita pizza and be prepared to eat a couple pounds of cheese. I'm currently holding the leftover Margherita pizza box and I'm getting a decent arm workout.

Giordanos was my first shot at deep dish pizza. I will go on the record saying I do not like deep dish pizza being a kid from Jersey. I grew up with thin crust Ny/Nj style pizza so deep dish just doesn't do it for me. But I do appreciate the style and culture of the Chicago iconic pizza. The cheese pull is epic and was very excited to this. I will say from consensus between Chicago folks that Giordanos is not going to be the go to spot when experiencing deep dish. To me it was a sloppy cheese mess. I know it is their claim to fame but the cheese is overkill. Waaayyyyyyy to much cheese, it just feels like it's throw on a plate with no effort. Ambiance and service was great though.

This is a solid spot for deep dish pizza! I went for the first time last week with my brother, who was visiting from out of town. He wanted to get deep dish during his time in Chicago and had wanted to try Giordano's. We both enjoyed our meal. I was not aware of how large Giordano's menu was! The options are nice in case you aren't in the mood for deep dish - you'll definitely find something else to enjoy! We split multiple appetizers and each got our own personal deep dish. It was a delicious meal! Our server was attentive, as well. I am very happy I tried a spot that I haven't gone to before in the neighborhood.

Very disappointed in the food. Not sure why this chain is so hype up. I feel fast food pizza chain is way better. All the food were underwhelming and taste like cafeteria food. Would not recommend.

Stopped in to try deep dish pizza. Told it would take 45 minutes to bake so we got the sampler appetizer. We got the Chicago classic pizza. Loved the freshness of the vegetables in it. We were able to walk in and be seated right away. Restaurant had a decent amount of seating. Our server was nice just wish she came by a little more throughout our meal to offer us refills or another drink.

We wanted a deep dish pizza. We spent the last seven years in California and I know California is not known for deep dish pizza, but Zachary's was pretty freakin' extraordinary. I am confident there are better options, but Giordano's was within walking distance from the hotel, so that's where we went. The Caesar Salad was tasty and fresh. For the pizza, we ordered a Make-Your-Own. In an attempt to recreate the pizza we love at Zachary's, we ordered a deep dish pizza with spinach and mushrooms. It looked beautiful. It tasted okay, but the overwhelming flavor was of the cheese. The pizza was very cheese heavy. You'd think a pizza with lots of cheese would be the bees knees. The problem was the chunky tomato topping, a very important part of a deep dish pizza, had very little flavor. It was disappointing. Convenient? Yes. Delicious? Not delicious enough.

I couldn't pass up trying out a local chain with famous deep dish pizza. The deep dish was cheesy, saucy, and filling, but there was something missing as it did not stand out in its flavor. The taste reminded me more of a standard pizza from other chains, but in Chicago deep dish form. Still, it was good with plenty leftover. The fried calamari and lemon rings starter was excellent. It paired so well with the marinara sauce, it's recommended. Good service. Expect about 45 minutes for the deep dish pizza to be ready. It's better to come after major plans due to the wait. Overall, it's a fair place and worth a try if visiting.

We celebrated our 30th birthday here! Taylor our server was amazing and made it a birthday to remember (a birthday card, drink and icecream). My favorite Taylor was Taylor swift but the Taylor at Giordanos on Belmont is now my favorite!!!! We LOVE Taylor at Giordanos. Thank you Taylor

I'm in town visiting an old friend . He lives right around the corner. We arrived late evening, so he got this to go and kept it warm in his oven. I'm a visitor, not a tourist. I hear they call this the tourist pizza. It was delicious and exactly as I remember it from several years ago. Best served with a friend and a cold beer!

Not bad, but doesn't stand out. Yes, I know I'm reviewing a chain - so to some extent it's not going to be anything out of this world. Giordano's gets the job done - no more, no less. It's definitely a good amount of food for your money, no one will argue that. But it doesn't leave you with that "wow" factor. It's just a deep dish pizza, with lots of sauce and cheese. With that said, I haven't tried the thin crust here and have heard that it's solid. So I'll probably return. If you need to choose a deep dish spot in Chicago and want something with some personality, hit up Lou's instead.

We came here before a Cubs game (the restaurant is within walking distance of Wrigley). We ordered the deep dish pizza, it took 45 minutes to bake (which is typical) and every bite was delicious. We ordered it half veggie and half classic pepperoni. The staff were friendly and kept us happy while we were there. Be sure to support this restaurant.

Honestly, I swear I could smell it from a block away, and the closer I got, the stronger it became. It was basically a scent trail pulling me in. Inside had that classic bar-meets-pizza-place feel. Sports playing on the TVs, people packed around the tables, drinks at the bar, and the sound of everyone having a good time. Even the second floor was full. It was busy, but it fit the place perfectly. The staff were super nice and gave us some good recommendations. Of course, I had to get the Chicago-style pan pizza with pepperoni, onions, and bell peppers. When it came out, it looked incredible. That signature Pequod's crust had this dark golden, almost caramelized edge that was extra crispy without tasting burnt. The cheese had melted into the crust and around the edges, giving it this crispy, cheesy bite. The sauce was rich and savory with a little sweetness, and the pepperoni added that salty, meaty flavor. The onions and bell peppers brought a little sweetness and freshness that balanced everything out. Every bite had something going on and I'm already thinking about trying pineapple next time. I feel like that would be really good with this. Definitely plan ahead and make a reservation.

The server was nice and we got some appetizers started because we had to wait for about 40min before our pizza arrived. The garlic cheese bread was good and flavorful. The fries were fried nicely and it was quite delicious and both were good portions. We ordered the smallest deep dish pizza size. I think it was called meat on meat. When we got it it looked cool but there was not a lot of meat on it to be honest. The cheese was stretchy but maybe it was just that day or pizza, the dough was very thicky and gooey like. Either it was underbaked or there was a lot of liquid so it made the dough filling and unappetizing. One slice was plenty but I wish they added more meat on top because it didn't seem like it lived up to its name. They also sold merch and the restaurant was red and it had an oldie style which was cool and unique!

Wow - this is Chicago tavern pizza at its finest…read more Very nice ambiance, had a 30+ min wait around 8pm on a Thursday. We were waited by Bill - who gave great recommendations and provided great customer experience the entire time! 10/10 from him. The focaccia + burrata combo was incredible - I typically don't opt for bread + pizza, although this was so worth it. The focaccia was perfectly crispy yet so soft, and pairing burrata on top gave it that creamy/cold combo that was perfect. The pizza was very elevated - good simple ingredients with an incredible crunch. Extremely paper thin. Highly recommend to come here!

We ended up doing a walk-in on a Sunday night and showed up at 8 PM one hour before close. This worked out for us because we got a really good seat after only waiting for 20 minutes. Service is good and timely- the hostess was super kind and helpful. We started with some cocktails- a Negroni & a spritz (both were good & pretty strong). Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The inside feels like a classic Italian joint, but it's very small and simple Overall, so glad that I finally went and although it's not a place that I would go regularly because I live far, I would definitely come back!

Unfortunately, our most recent visit left me disappointed. We came in around 1:00 on a Sunday on a beautiful day, so we expected it to be busy. We ordered everything at once--two pizzas and a salad--knowing that service can take a little longer. The bartender was also serving most of the tables in our section. The salad came out right away, followed by our first pizza. We then waited another 30 minutes for the second pizza. Our server checked in and told us it was coming, and later let us know that she had spoken with the manager and that there had been an issue in the kitchen. Finally, the manager brought out our pizza and said, "I heard you waited a long time for this." What was disappointing was that there was no apology or any real acknowledgment beyond that, and no attempt to make up for the experience in any way. The wait itself really wasn't the problem. (Though it was awkward that one person in our party watched us eat while waiting for his pizza to arrive). We've been coming here for years, and we've always been willing to wait because we love the food. It was the lack of an apology or meaningful acknowledgment that bothered me. As longtime, consistent customers, we expected a little more when something went wrong. I still love the pizza, which honestly makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope this was just an isolated experience, because I'd really like to continue considering Robert's one of our Chicago favorites. Sadly I don't think we will be back.
