My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not busy at all which is why I thought it was completely insane for service to be so slow. I waited 25 minutes for a simple glass of lemonade. I ordered fries that came out at the same time as my pizza. The pizza overall was good. It was cheesy and came out warm. I am station at the Naval Station, and my boyfriend came to see from New York. HE wanted Chicago style Pizza and I have heard so many reviews about this pizza. There is so many Giordano pizzeria in Chicago its ridiculous. IT was hard to call them an order out or even going online to order SO I had to physically find a restaurant an go inside. It was extremely packed. We had already decided to order out. We had ordered the spinach and mushroom stuffed pizza. Usually we can demolish a whole pizza together but it was difficult t finish 2 slices IT as so heavy. He was breathing heavy after his third slice. The pizza was delicious. It is really good hot. The next day we picked up two more stuffed pizza so he can take back to New York. It isn't every day pizza for sure. read more

I don't ordinarily review places based solely on their service, but this place has been consistently great to me from a customer service standpoint. This location is frequently on my weekday lunch rotation. They have a speedy lunch special, and if you let them know you're in a hurry, they'll take care to get you in and out. They're also reasonably priced for a sit down lunch. I do takeout frequently when I don't have time to dine in; I've never had any issues with that, either. Time quoted is always accurate; they do a nice job of packing up the food, and everything I order is consistently correct. Most notably, I had placed an online order, and accidently requested it from the wrong location. (Completely my error) Instead of making a big stink about it, or telling me to go to the correct location, they took it upon themselves to cancel the order at the other location, and quickly prepare my order while I waited. Giordano's has some of the best stuffed deep dish pizza you will ever have. This is a great location - there's a parking lot in front, and you will dine with the Chicago skyline in front of you. We were warmly greeted by the staff and the manager made sure we were happy. Our waiter was in good spirits and was pretty attentive, despite the place being a full house. I used to order here at least once every two weeks. Under the previous chain owner the quality control in the kitchen became quite lousy. Then they chain was taken away from him, then suddenly they quality improved immensely. Then customer service at this location became a joke. I admit I love their stuffed spinach and mushroom pizza, especially during lent. I usually call about an hour prior to leaving work so that I can pick up a pizza on they way home. So I called and placed my usual order. Went to pick they pizza up and it turns out the woman taking my order goofed it up and wrote it up as a large instead of a small. Well I was treated as if I was somehow trying to get over on the restaurant. They made me wait a few minutes then admitted that the woman taking the orders lately goofed up alot of them. So the manager says I can have the large pizza at a small pizza price. At this point all I wanted was a pizza. Went home enjoyed the pizza. That night I suddenly became ill from food poisoning. Did the staff at Giodano's do something to the pizza because they thought I was trying to get over on them? I don't know for sure, but put one and one together. Giordano's pizza is really good, end of story. This specific restaurant is pretty meh. The service is hit or miss (never really too much of a hit), it gets crowded, and they can be kinda rude at the counter when you're trying to get a table. If you're not close enough for walking to be convenient, you're closer to somewhere else that is better. They charge for parking, it's ridiculous. read more

This was the first place my friends and I went when we landed in Chicago and boy, it was exactly what we needed. We started with the loaded Potato Fritters as a starter, an unexpected, pleasant surprise to our liking. Our server was very kind and engaging, offering us suggestions on things to see in Chicago while we waited. He served us the Classic Chicago deep dish pizza as our first meal in the city and did a dramatic, slow motion demo of cutting and pulling out the first slice, which made for perfect Snapchat stories on our end. The food was absolutely delicious, the vegetables tasted freshly grown and chopped, the flavor and ratio of ingredients was delightful, and we were perfectly full after having two slices each. Have been here a couple of times now. Not the greatest pizza, but better than eating at home. The food is what you would expect for the price you pay, I don't have any problems with it. Review is mainly due to the staff and management who refuse to honor their military discount for "veterans and active duty". Showed them my military ID, manager comes back saying they only give a discount to people who show up in "uniform". So...wtf? Im a veteran, what am I? She says I'll give you a student discount of 10%. Really tired of the ignorance here. So just like I have to fight for my country, I have to fight with an idiot to prove im a veteran even with an ID. Since we were in Chicago, we had to try some Chicago-style deep dish pizza. At least that's what I was told, but I was also told a giant fat man comes down my chimney every December 25th and Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. The pizza is good and cheesy, but almost everything else was a miss. Inattentive service that had to be flagged down every time. Fried mushrooms that were cold on the inside. $4 parking when most other places in the neighborhood are free. Seriously the WORST pizza that I've ever eaten in my LIFE! I prefer Lou Malnati's, but had a house guest arriving late at night and the Greektown Giordano's is nearby. Paid $18 bucks for the thin crust pizza (don't care that deep dish is the pizzeria's specialty; as long as they sell it, they should be able to make it) with 3 toppings. My friend and I were so disgusted with the pizza that we literally spit the pizza out into our napkins and got food from another restaurant. Pizza tasted funky and stale, and the cheese was sour. My family loves Giordano's and this location is great! The service if great and the staff is wonderful. Delicious food! We've eaten there and its the cleanest I have a complaint against the website. They encourage you to order online so we did. We are near McCormick Place, about 20 minutes from the Greektown location. There is a Giordano's on S Michigan which is .9 miles away from us. However the website makes us order from the Greektown location automatically. This causes our pizza to be 20 minutes late and not deliciously hot as we expect since there is a close location that is 5 minutes away! I suggest you fix your geotagging or reconfigure your delivery zones on your website! Corporate get your crap together! Your poor employees have to rush an order that will be impossible to deliver on time! read more

Tonight's dining experience was terrific! Our waiter, James, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the time it would take to get the food to our table. We had the bbq wings, mozzarella triangles and a large thin crust sausage and cheese pizza. Every order was hot and fresh. Delicious! I tried both Giordano's and Lou's to compare the deep dish. As a Californian, I don't have much experience with deep dish so I felt it fair to try at least the two most recommended places before giving a review. Keep in mind that I have tried a deep dish place in Norcal that I was quite pleased with. Anyway, Giordano's serves pretty standard food. It really isn't all that impressive. More or less what you imagine when ordering a deep dish pizza. The wait is about 45 min and unfortunately the "small" is still quite big and can feed 2-3 people easily. The taste of the pizza was a bit disappointing to me. They go quite heavily on the cheese and I felt most of the dynamics of the pizza were lost due to the strong presence of the cheese. I wouldn't say it's a bad place, but just not that impressive. The extra star off is due to the service. I would say they're understaffed as they had the door greeter/seater come help bus tables, which would explain why service is a little lackluster. Overall, not a horrible place but not a good one either. I much more strongly recommend Lou's if you're looking for your first go at deep dish pizza. read more

Ordered online for delivery. Credit card has been charged. Now we are waiting an hour after estimated delivery. I call to check on my order and nobody answers their phones. Just on hold for 20 minutes trying to talk to anyone at the restaurant. Ridiculous to not even call the customer to tell them the order might be delayed or any update on things, let alone even answer the phone? Highly recommend avoiding this location if you order online. We took our 15 yr old to celebrate her bday here and everything went very well. All the food we ordered came out in a nice timely manner. The Caesar salad was delicious! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. He was very helpful in storing the cake we brought in for her in their restaurant fridge. Once we were done with our meal, again he was very helpful in bringing it out and helping us take it out of the box. My 15 yr old was very happy and we will def be coming again. We wanted to throw an engagement party in Chicago and needed to have a large order, catering, delivered. The managers Matt and Tanya went up and above our expectations to make this happen! The food was delivered hot and was delicious. The mini italian sausage skewers and crispy chicken tenders were a big hit! They even had tasty gluten free pizza for our guests needing that. Only item of the many we ordered that wasn't very good was the cannoli, very bland. The dessert trays with brownies and cookies were out of this world good! Been here a couple of times, both the times got their stuffed pizza with garlic and something, can't remember, but it was delicious both the times. It's so filling, two slices and I was done, I usually eat like four. First time, we also ordered Breaded Mushrooms which were great. But the slices are sooo huge here, getting an appetizer is usually not a good idea unless you go in a big group. read more

Perfetto! After being told my party of 5 would have to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to be seated at the location on Lake, just across Millenium Park, I decided to call a few other Giordanos location. All of the locations located in the loop were packed, 1 hour wait at least. So I decided to call the one in Greek-Town and to my surprise, no wait what-so-ever. My friends and hightailed it to Greektown, with a not so sane taxi driver at the helm. Relieved to make it there in one piece, we immediately rushed into the restaurant and were seated. The pizza was just as good as any other Giordano's location. Highly recommend trying this location if the Giordano's in the loop are full of tourists that don't know any better. read more

After my previous review, management contacted me asking to make things right. I'm not going to hide the fact that they gave me a (very generous) gift card, but I will say that it will not affect my review in any way. I decided that I would give Giordano's another two tries, reviewing it for delivery/carry-out, and also dine-in. For carry-out, the process was simple, I just simply called the store and told them what I wanted, then waited 45 minutes to show up and pick-up my pizza. Much better than the 2 hour wait for delivery, but still, quite the wait. The girl that answered the phone was very polite, and she was at the register when I got there, but her coworker was quite rude. Something that I had noted in my last review was that the hostesses and waiters can be quite rude and unhelpful! I asked for a bag for my pizza to carry it back, and she handed it to me and rudely said, "take care of it yourself." I gladly would have, but did not appreciate her attitude. She seemed very angry and gloomy, which put a downer on things. My total for pizza was $16.90ish before I added two drinks, and then asked for a plate (if possible), this somehow skyrocketed my total cost to $24... What? Those drinks were $4 each? Forget about it. The pizza was very good, absolutely rich and phenomenal. It was warm, melty, and gooey. I was slightly turned off by the clear liquid that seeped out of the center, but the pizza was delicious, just as I said last time I reviewed them. The leftovers were great. I will update the review with my dine-in experience once it has happened. But as of this moment, I feel the same way- except that nice girl who answered the phone makes me think maybe not all their hosts and servers are lacking. Stay Away!! What a completely awful experience. I went to this location with my daughter since it was very close to the United Center. This location has a small parking lot that it not owned by Giordanos so it cost $4 to park. Not bad. Arrived and the restaurant and we were seated immediately. No one came to our table for the first ten minutes of us sitting there. Luckily, we were ready to order when the waiter arrived and I ordered the "Lite" (smaller helping) of the Chicken Parm and my daughter ordered a individual stuffed cheese pizza. All the waiter said was "okay, 30 minutes" and walked away. About 35 minutes later our food came and we never saw the waiter again until I had to hunt him down for the bill. My daughter liked the pizza but I found it to be a little too doughy. My chicken parm was not good at all. The noodles were like rubber, the piece of chicken was tiny and the sauce was awful and bland. They also never brought out the bread that I was supposed to get with my meal. I will NEVER step my foot back in this place again. With all their different locations, I would find the next one closer. Save your money. read more

They were about 15min late on delivery (oh well), but the real issue was that the veggie side of the pizza was undercooked. Like, soggy and doughy undercooked. Well I brought a group of 13 (6 kids & 7 adults) on a late Sunday afternoon. They put us in the back corner of the restaurant which is fine & expected for a large group. The problem was that it was freezing. We asked to be moved immediately (before we were all seated) to a warmer area. They told us they turned the heat on. It was turned until we ordered & then it went off. After asking several times, we asked for a manager who told us that he turned it down. We said that with kids, we would be gone shortly & to please turn it back up. His reply was "well it is winter you know". After that comment my experience was tainted. Our waitress was efficient & nice but that is all I could come up with nice. I'm sure the pizza was decent as well but I couldn't tell from the bad taste that the manager left in my mouth. read more
