Great food and great prices! I'd definitely come back. Customer service was also great!

reasonable prices and large menu

My granddaughter & I arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. Luckily there was no one else in the place, as I found it a little difficult reading their menu up on the wall. There were no menus on the tables, so I assumed that was the only menu they had. A friendly lady came out and motioned to the table right in front of me and told me they have menus there also. I love sushi! My daughter orders delivery from here often, but I prefer to eat out. I never knew it was here on Midway, very easy access and nearby! We placed our order, found we needed to go behind the lady and her register in order to get our drinks, which is kinda strange - no way would I let people walk behind me like that, lol. We picked our table and plopped down and boom, they opened the doors and let all the hungry people in, geez I don't know where they all came from! A few picked up orders, some ate in and others ordered to go. The system was efficient and calm, nice to see. I only had sight of one person in the meal prep & that was a man making sushi in front of the kitchen near the dining area. The kitchen behind him was quiet, but there must have been a LOT going on to get all those orders out so fast. And then all the walk-ins were gone and we were still there chatting, along with a couple of other tables. We ordered the basics - the California roll & the spicy crab meat roll (my granddaughter) & I ordered the rainbow roll. When I dine with my daughter, she always orders unique rolls, but I couldn't think & went for safe. I also noticed that everything is served in to go containers, which for me is awfully casual, but, handy if you order more than you can eat & need to take it with you! They were great, very fresh and the size of the roll was just right. Friendly staff, very clean place and great food - I'll be back!!

I love Ginza express!!! It's a very lowkey local restaurant with super high quality sushi at a really good price point. It's really chill and great to dine in and it's great for take out too. I love the Tuna sushi, the dumplings, and the shrimp tempura rolls. The staff is really nice, especially the managed. I come to this place all the time and the quality is always really consistent.

Excellent food! Quick, fresh, and delicious! There are tables to sit at but you order at the counter. Nice atmosphere. Nice people. I would recommend!

H4. Hibachi Chicken 3 oz. and Steak 3 oz. with Fried Rice
Sumi J.

I drove past this place a few times and then saw it pop up on Yelp. Best decision ever giving this place a chance!!! I'm barely a quarter of the way done eating! I placed an online order for a Hibachi Chicken and Steak Meal with Fried rice. I got a text saying it would be be ready in 20 min. I pulled into the parking lot a little bit early. It is kind of small but I think there is parking on the side of the building. I walked in and was impressed. I honestly thought it was one of those places with hibachi place with the table grills. It's more of a carry out with about 10 tables. But I'd like to highlight that it was super clean and bright. The lady that greeted me was super nice and had a huge smile. Definitely made me feel welcome. I waited a few minutes and then she brought my order to me. Got home in about 15min. My food was still really warm. Everything looks fresh and amazing. The fried rice was great but not what I was expecting. It was on the very light brown side made with maybe Jasmine rice. The vegetables were fresh and chunky. Still crispy. The steak was a bit overcooked rather on the well done side but I'm not angry at it. The chicken was absolutely perfect. It had the nice grill sear but was tender and flavorful. They added a little yellowish sauce on the side. It was okay. It reminded me like a very lightly flavored honey mustard. Overall, 5/5, would go again. Actually, can't wait to go again! Treat yoself! I justified it by saying I'll be eating a healthy meal ;)

The food was great! We flew in from Idaho and need a place to eat and this did not disappoint. We showed up near closing and the service and also great very friendly very nice.

Ordered a steak hibachi bowl, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, & a poke bowl Taste is awesome. The fried rice is probably the BEST I've had in Dallas. Price here adds up quickly. I like that you can get sushi & hibachi in one place. I cannot recommend this place enough!

HIDDEN GEM! This place is a sleeper hit waiting to blow up. i can't believe this place is in…read moreAddison. If this was located in downtown Dallas it would make way more sense. I've been to Michelin starred omakases (including tempura omakases) in Japan and New York, and this place honestly meets or comes extremely close to fitting the bill in terms of food and service. At the Michelin restaurants, you pay almost double the price for high quality ingredients, stellar service, ambiance, and a Japanese toilet :P For $100 pp for the tempura omakase at Takumi Hachi, you leave feeling full and satisfied, with a great selection of light and deliciously fried fritters. Each person gets a bowl of their divinely delicious tempura sauce with a generous amount of shaved daikon (not even lying when i say this is my favorite tempura sauce i've had, i could've just drank it on its own) and a selection of salts, with each course given a recommendation of which salt to use. In terms of ambiance: frankly speaking, if it was just the counter service omakase, i'd say it would feel more stuffy and unapproachable. But there is a general seating area that is not counter service where you can order off the menu for sushi, robata, and a la carte options. No dress code enforced or recommended, so you can be dining with all sorts of patrons with different sizes of families and children. whether or not this is your jam, it's still an extremely accessible place to dine for anyone and everyone. Reservations were incredibly easy to make (tempura omakase only From Sunday thru Thursday). Service was really kind and attentive, my husband's water literally never went below half empty. The only thing to take service to the next level is if they cleaned/wiped your plate/gave you a new plate between each course. American toilet. Lol. That's neither here nor there, but the bathroom is very clean lol! They were also sweet enough to read my reservation note for the occasion for dining and gifted us a delicious strawberry mousse, accompanied with a surprise tableside matcha to end the meal. I'm already looking forward to try their kaiseki set meal next time, and know that this place is a top contender to take my friends or loved ones for special occasions. I can't speak much for their sushi, but I added on some robata and grill menu items to the omakase and they were fantastic. Highly recommend the maitake mushroom tempura add on to your course. If you order ebi sushi, they offer to take the head once you're done eating the sushi and either put it in a miso soup or fry it for you, which i thought was a wonderful option. Also, we got tempura anago, something I've never had anywhere else, served two different ways. That alone was enough to make this experience stand out. For an experience like I had tonight, I felt as if the restaurant should be more full. Maybe because it is tucked away behind the other chain restaurants in Addison that are a little easier to see. Don't hesitate if you see the price tag, I definitely think you get a great value for food, service, and experience. We were there for two hours and enjoyed it very much. Thank goodness i don't have to drive all the way to downtown Dallas to enjoy some delicious Japanese food without the headache and hassle of finding parking and an accessible reservation.

The left side/entrance area does have a bleach/cleaner type smell but I didn't notice it further into the restaurant. We did the Kaiseki Omakase. Staff is super friendly and explained every step of the experience. Like all courses meals - smaller portions but overall left super full. The clay pot was actually a huge portion as both of us ended up getting two bowls worth. Pacing of the meal was solid, kept it moving but didn't feel rushed at all. We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a sweet treat as well at the end which was so appreciated! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion

When we walked in, the hostess had a poor attitude and was off putting. Unfriendly and borderline rude. We made sure to get there as soon as they opened because we knew it would be dead, and we'd have better luck at quicker service. Unfortunately, they sat us outside because we had our ESA animal in an enclosed carrier after grilling us about what services he performs, and I believe we were forgotten about since we were the only ones on the porch. It was a very warm day with high humidity. I asked the hostess if she could make sure the fans were on since it was so hot, and she asked, "So, you want me to turn them off?" We only ordered two apps of Roti Canai, one order of the twice friend wings, and an order or the donuts (all were ordered at once to help speed things along since it was so hot outside.) It took quite a while, and the wings came out soggy and cold, which is not the norm. A thunderstorm was coming in, and we had been waiting on our donuts for at least 20 minutes at this point. My husband informed the hostess that we would have to either cancel the order or move inside since it was about to start raining. She flippantly said that she would have to ask the manager first if we were allowed inside. We were so turned off that it really ruined the experience, and it was not the way we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day. The donuts finally came out (also cold), and I had my husband just give her the credit card without the check so we could hurry up and get off the porch before it started coming down. We rushed through the dessert and left. Not loving our experience and not sure if we'll be back until the attitude and service changes. We're bummed because we were always a fan of this place until now.

As i listed to idle conversation with people, everyone seemed to be remarking how good the food was so im sure it wasnt just me. Their all you can east isnt advertised on the menu so i had to ask for it personally but the minute i did they had a sheet ready! You mark down all the things you want. Ill live write out my review as i receive and eat things: 1. Ahi tower is one of the best things ive ever eaten. it brings SO MUCH fish and crab. I really thought it would be mostly rice but nope. GREAT portion and SUPER delicious. will be thinking about it for a while 2. Ninja roll.. AGAIN how is it so good? perfect amount of spicy!! also they somehow made the salmon on top creamy? 3. Yokohoma roll had less flavor than the ninja but it felt fresher! its perfect for when u want fish but not too much flavor 4. Washing roll was surprisingly so good!! everything ive had so far has been FANTASTIC but i normally hate krab. they mixed it in a way that made is actually really yummy?! almost bbqy but idk how to describe it 5. eel avocado roll might be my favorite? it had a LOT of flavor. ill be honest it didnt taste much like EEL but more like whatever sauce they put on it. it wasnt sweet at all which is nice considering eel usually is be warned anything you dont finish will be chard a la carte so make SURE u dont order as much as me because i couldnt finish what i ordered The place itself is cold (which is a big plus for me when im eating) and looks like a family spot. idk how to describe it but you can just tell its a couple familys go to sushi place. theres tons of parking outside too! They also have a spot for you to sit on the sushi bar to watch the chefs cook! it was really cool and i even saw a couple people request to be sat there Everyone was so sweet and attentive i loved it :)
