Well, Gino's finally opened I believe on March 3, 2026.
When I saw it was open and there was somebody inside you better believe I found a parking spot real fast on Homer and went right in.
I didn't get in there till around 1:30 PM so most of the stuff was gone, unfortunately, but I did manage to get
2 huge Pastry hearts
3 Pasticiotti
3 Raspberry Twists
&
6 Italian Cookies
I had some of everything and everything was delicious.
I can't wait till I can get some other things that they happen to be out of that day.
The employee was nice and I knew what she was talking about and told me how to pronounce PASTICIOTTI, which I had no idea how to pronounce until now.
(and yes, I am Italian, lol)
It smelled amazing in there, especially once you got near the counter.
I forgot to ask if they make Napoleon or cream puffs or any of the usual things that I buy at the Italian festival every year from different bakery vendors.
They have quite a bit of room in the front of the store, which would be perfect for a bunch of little tables and chairs, so people to sit down and have something to eat there.
There was just one teeny tiny little problem and not really a problem. Just a little negative. The prices were a bit much. It's not gonna stop me from going there, but some of the prices were a lot. I spent almost $70 on those things I bought listed above. Everybody told me I was nuts, but they looked so good and I just had to buy them.
If all the cannoli wasn't gone, and if they had more cookies, and if the tomato pie wasn't gone, I would've spent an absolute fortune.
When I brought all the stuff over to my mom's, they were all very excited to try everything.
Like I said everything was delicious. The price is what brings the rating down to four stars. read more
