The store offers designer & alt-designer clothes, shoes & bags for a fraction of what you would pay for them retail (Dries, Owens, Isabel Marant, Acne). For a taste of what they have on offer (as well as heads up on sales), follow them on Instagram. Some of the reviews here mention a snooty staff. I've never experienced that. I have found everyone to be courteous, friendly and respectful, engaged when I had questions, but otherwise leaving me to my own devices (which is the kind of service I prefer). I've also worked with Eva in her closet-cleaning, wardrobe upgrade service and for anyone who is thinking that they might need the same I say DO IT. She doesn't mess around - the process was fun, yes, but also efficient. We did the closet-cleaning, during which we chatted about what I liked, and where I was looking to stylistically go. Then she spent a day scouting stores & sending me pictures of things she found to see what I liked (and didn't like). After that, we shopped together for 3 hours - and boom, just like that, I have a tight, beautiful perfect-for-me selection and a bunch of styling ideas using things I already have. It seems like such a luxury to use a service like this but, honestly, I find that I am making better choices about what to put in my (wonderfully airy) closet (read: fewer expensively suspect decisions). If there is something I have a question about, I text a picture to Eva and she send me back her thoughts. I can't recommend Eva & the store highly enough.

I'm ashamed to say that for as long as I've known about the existence of Nicholas Brooklyn,…read moreyesterday was my first time going inside. I was fresh out of the gym and in need of either a protein shake or natural juice. I knew Nicholas Brooklyn for selling juice outside in the summer. I DID NOT know that all the juices are made by a joyful, jovial soul who calls himself "Coconut Rob." He made a blend of spinach and passionfruit juice for me which he put in a bottle with the "Coconut Rob" logo (too cute.) I noticed a very new looking, shiny pot simmering in the juice area but the aroma caught me first. Coconut Rob was preparing a container of hot, vegan soup that was so fragrant and delicious smelling I had to take a container to go. My juice was really tasty but the SOUP!!! It was full of lentils and squash and topped with seasoned, fresh kale and a crushed garlic sauce. It will leave you begging for more with Oliver Twist hunger in your eyes. Nicholas Brooklyn also sells vitamins and supplements and candles for prayer, spiritual and devotional needs. They also host events that focus on topics that serve the needs of the Bed-Stuy community. I see that holistic wellness goddess, Queen Afua, will be a guest at Nicholas Brooklyn for an upcoming event. That's so dope. I feel like I unlocked the door to some real health and happiness by stepping into Nicholas Brooklyn. I'll be back again and again.

Brooklyn Heights flashback.. don't you just love those? I…read morewas speaking to a friend about this store just recently and had to write a review.. Why?? In a galaxy far far away.. Fawn's first apartment was in Brooklyn Heights on Orange Street. How I loved living on Orange Street; a block away from the Promenade. The other famous fruit street is Cranberry. You all know that street: Cher's character in Moonstruck was kicking a can after spending the night with Nicholas Cage? Yes, that Cranberry Street. But, I digress.. Brooklyn Heights back then had great restaurants and shops on Montague Street. Back then there was Banana Republic, Gap, Anne Taylor.. But Tango was "the" place to shop for designer merchandise.. When I first moved to the Heights everyone had a Longchamp bag, Le Pliage to be exact, ( their famed canvas and Russian cowhide bag) and I wanted one. I was told Tango carried that brand. Thus, I entered into this charming boutique and surveyed the goods. Beautifully merchandised and very personable staff.. and then I found it! My Longchamp bag: it was the small Le Pliage in meadow green and I took one look and it was MINE! I love green and it was perfect! I was so stoked! Tango carries numerous designer apparel, shoes and handbags. I believe the owner owns the building. I shopped there numerous times and in fact my second important purchase was a pair of Sigerson Morrison sandals! Tango is still located on beautiful Montague Street and it's worth stopping in. Tango, thank you for the lovely service and assortment of fine designer items.

Everyone should be treated equally. This afternoon I…read moreintended to purchase a pair of Sorrel winter boots from Tango. While waiting at the counter to pay for the boots. The store clerk was ringing up another customer. As I waited to be served middle agex very plain woman enters the store. She picks up a pair of panty hose. After the transaction with the initial customer was completed. I made it clear although it was obvious, I was next. Unfortunately, the older white bedraggled store clerk decided the white woman who arrived after me, time was more valuable. So, the white store clerk began to ring up the white woman. Thereafter, I took my black self with my black dollars and departed the store. Now, I reside around the corner from Tango. For almost thirty years I've lived in Brooklyn Heights. I've always found Tango's bridge line clothing overpriced and as far as style underwhelming. I only shop there in a pinch. You are better off going across the street to Housing Works. A few seasons ago, I bought a Valentino Black label cocktail dress at Housing Works. Similarly, last spring, I purchased a fabulous 2ply silk Balenciaga aqua blue cocktail dress. Housing Works employees are pleasant and respectful to all their customers. Just not the ones who look like them!!!

She literally went to close the fitting room as I was about to use it. The individuals at the register took forever. I do not know what POS system is being used, but it wasn't like they were pressing on items on the iPads, it was literal typing out of letters. People were in line for so long. I went around 1pm, the older woman on the left was patient but the sister on the right was not. Have some patience and grace!!! We also had store credit which they were not willing to use simply because "the laptop" was not on them. You're better off just ordering online if you cannot try on the clothes and when the purchase policy was not clear for the garden party. In general, I would recommend La Meera Moda for tall girlies like me! The customers at the store made the experience better, there was no shoving or pushing.
