We arrive to the store and I promise I was as exited as a her, they have so many nice clothing that it was almost impossible to choose just the necessary, I wanted everything, but of course there's many styles for all types of people, me for example I was looking for something nice but comfy and loose since I live in a very hot state right? so yes, I did my thing and search.. I got maybe 3 or 4 vintage summer dresses, some accessories and few hats, that's was it I really don't remember how much it was but I do remember thinking it was affordable also wanted to go back and get a nice black purse I saw in one of the shelves but it was too late and it was taken :( read more

In the heart of Bed-stuy, never thought I'd find a cute little thrift/vintage boutique like this. From the moment I walked in, the funky decor, chill music and super-friendly staff put me at ease. The racks are literally packed with really inexpensive stuff (if you take the time to dig, you will find designer stuff--DVF top under 20$!) , and there are a few racks of true vintage gems for the collector. The main draw (for me, at least) was the array of vintage shoes--I wound up getting a pair of knee-high leather boots for 25$. The woman working there told me that they often host parties and events in the store so I will definitely be back, and I'll bring my guy with me to check out the sweet men's section! read more

The range of style is also note worth, from a class retro look to the nostalgic nineties wild child look Meat Market covers it all! The space itself is so welcoming, and I love the fact it once was a real Meat Market! The owner has big plans for Meat Market and I'm so excited to see what she does with the space! I love this store! A great and fun selection of vintage and contemporary looks for any season and any outfit. The Meat Market really pays attention to each component of fashion, from shoes to accessories to clothes, and that attention to detail makes this store so incredibly unique. Meat Market is filled with beautiful, funky, and fancy clothes as well as stones, crystals, and oils to keep your beautiful, funky, fancy self centered and cared for. Kemba is sweet and know her customers after their first visit. At the shop or around the block she is a shop owner that cares about her community and is curating a fabulous collection of items! This place is so cute! Full of inexpensive thrift pieces and affordable vintage selections. They just expanded their mens section also, which is full of goodies. I recently bought a pair of (Construction) Boots and a Leather bag to carry my laptop around in - both for under $30 total. There are also really fun events that go on here regularly like screenings and installations, and there's almost always a sale of some sort happening daily. I've been coming to this place since I realized it was there. Little hidden if you don't know the area, but if you walk down tompkins ave as much as a local does, you know that this is where you can pop in and get whatever it is you need for your closet. I recently purchased a bag full of things that were unique and perfect for me. The Meat Market is the best place to shop! The selection of clothing is wonderful because there are so many great vintage pieces to choose from. The music and the vibe is always positive and I never walk out without seeing something that I have to have. Another thing I love about the store is there is something for everyone. This is by far my favorite thrift/vintage store in Brooklyn - you can't beat the prices, anyplace. $9-$13 dresses? Perhaps this explains why I have like 30 dresses in my closet. I found so many amazing pieces here that were ACTUAL vintage items. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I read other reviews saying that the hours are a little unpredictable. While this is somewhat true- you really just have to keep your eyes open- and a world of rare hidden gems will be right at your disposal. read more
