So all I did was went to donate to Close. My kids have at the Old group and the manager. She was very rude. Very nasty saying that you're not accepting no clothes. However, other people came in there right after drop off I mean it's a thrift shop why would you not want to accept, free clothing. I think they need to have more professional employee working because she said it was an attitude I guess because I'm black I don't know but they need to fix that because this is just about the closest thrift shop in the area where I'm living and to give attitude to customers that's always right you need to learn how to deal with the general public. read more

"did you bring sun block".... "no"! over 100 degrees today and no sun block? We are going to get burnt on our urban safari. The new plan is randomly walk into any store that has AC. No quicker than the new plan was hatched did L train vintage appear behind the hazy lines being radiated from the NYC asphalt. Walking into L train I was expecting to simply absorb their air-conditioned air and keep it moving. "vintage" shops have been little more than over priced salvation army outposts for the last 15 years in NYC. My brother started looking through the racks pulling out shirts with a feverish energy. Price tags reading $8 then $10 then $8 again! I was in frugal heaven. Who needs sunblock when you can buy an $8 long sleeve shirt? Not only did I find what I now call "the best shirt in the world" (see attached photo for shirt) for $8, my brother paid for it! Walked from L Train Vintage to Manhattan over the williamsburg bridge with T.B.S.I.T.W. protecting my baby soft skin from premature wrinkles. I have already sent a few NYC friends over to claim their own hawaiian or cowboy shirt and they complained that the store was closed on Sunday? not sure, but best you google or check the store hrs to avoid the fate of this obviously data starved friend of mine. read more

One of my new favorite spots for great finds. Lots of hidden gems in this store and the prices are extremely affordable. They require everyone to wear masks upon entrance, so make sure you bring one with you. The only downside is that due to the pandemic, the fitting rooms are closed and every sale is final, so make sure you're confident in what you buy. Constant rotation of new items, so check back frequently. Can also get crowded on the weekends. read more

It's extremely well organized, and a staff member is seen constantly hanging things back...But I don't think it's the place for many unique finds. If there are, it might be a 2+ hour search. It has masses and masses of Camo, t-shirts, drug rug sweaters, and blue jeans. It is full of intentionally ironic t shirts (I can only wonder why so many people get rid of their 2018 Family Reunion shirts or 2017 DisneyWorld Trip shirts...This is a subculture I know little of) If you're going for that look of 42 year old 80s mom, and you're a teen, this place can be good. Cool place found some really nice pieces . A PAC Sun jean jacket , a really cute dress, t shirt, and a beautiful mustard color beret and everything came up to 30 bucks . A lot of selection and as mentioned before you do need a lot of patience because the gems are mostly hidden but you won't leave here without anything . Not a thrift store shopper but decided to try this place due to the great reviews. I snagged a beautiful black Samuel Dong trench coat for $15. Never heard of the designer before but this coat is so sweet! Looks like it was never worn either. The prices are very reasonable, with most items under $20. Not a great selection of shoes or sneakers for women, but lots of jean and jean jackets to choose from. It didn't smell bad in there either, like some thrift shops. The clothing isn't separated by size but since they're used, probably washed and shrunken a bit, the sizes are off anyway. It's fun to go through the racks anyway and you might find something you wouldn't think you would even want. They received a huge delivery of new items while I was there so definitely will be back to see the rest. Highly recommend just for prices alone. read more

New to Brooklyn and i mostly buy used clothes to try and do my part in not supporting fast fashion. This place was priced super well for having such a large selection with only good things! Everything was pretty well organized. You do have to do some digging for your size, though. So many great bomber jackets and winter coats. I come from the valley in california, so i needed to stock up on my winter attire. they definitely had all of the jackets i could possibly need. Great selection of jeans too! A bunch of Levi's that were $8-$20. Would definitely recommend this place to somebody. read more

This place is definitely hit or miss. I've come here and found nothing, but have come other days and found several items I am looking for. Huge selection of jackets and coats, tshirts and camo/military garb. They definitely don't have trendy/fashionista type items - it's definitely vintage and old school 90s stuff. I'm not sure where the reviews saying the items are overpriced are coming from - I've never spent more than $8 on pants and I've never seen a tag for more than $10 on the stuff I look at. I think the prices are very reasonable so why two stars? I've been coming here since the beginning of the pandemic - I can understand the fitting rooms being closed at that time but for the fitting rooms to STILL be closed is ridiculous. Especially when they have a no return/no exchange policy, so if you buy something that doesn't fit (because you couldn't try it on), you are stuck with it. I don't know if it's because of Covid or if it's because it looks like they have a bunch of merchandise sitting on the floor in the fitting rooms. If that's the case why don't they clean out the fitting rooms so that people can actually try things on? When I asked if I could try something on they told me you were only allowed to try things on on top of your clothes..Very frustrating. I can't really shop at a place that doesn't let me try things on and doesn't let me exchange or return. read more

REASONABLE PRICES!! Great stock, will be coming back every time I am in the city, Jeans are about $10, found at least 4 pairs of vintage Guess and Wet Seal jeans. Bomber jackets are in stock now for summer, they go for about $15 a pop too! All vintage Denim jackets are a maximum of $15 too, literally amazing spot. Out of the 4 thrift stores I went to today, this was by far my favorite! They have such a wide selection of clothes that it's hard to leave here without buying out the entire store XD This place has a lot of variety of different clothes, with a lot of vintage finds. It's very organized and clean, and actually has AC turned up, very important for a hot day like today! Prices are decent. Shorts for 5$. Jean jackets for 10$. Some bags that are evident to be high brands can be expensive as 75$. I wouldn't recommend buying shoes here though because most of the shoes are 20-30$. Why buy something so expensive at a thrift store when you can find cheaper prices at every-day stores. Other than that, love it! read more

The.Devil. So I'm going to assume this is the replacement spot that was off the Grand L stop. My friend and I randomly stumbled upon this gem and when I saw the yellow price tags I instantly knew my love was back with me. They have an entire store full of mens clothing and accessories. The other side, which is just as huge, is for the ladies. The walls are lined with long and short dresses, mosey from the 70's, 80's and 90's. They have any and everything for a vintage lover like myself and then some. They even have funny dresses. I bought a dress with an Inca symbol on it with what seems to be yarn or fake hair. The fitting room is a kind of a pain because you can only bring in 5 items and there isn't a place to put what you don't want. I saw people just leave clothes and hangars in the fitting room. The roo.s are also locked, which I totally get. I was randomly shopping so I had to go and get the guy several times. The prices can't be beat. For example - leather skirts $8-12 -fun skirts $5-15 - tops $5 and up You get the point. This place also has a random selection of handbags. I snatched up a fun vintage coach bag for a crazy low price (did I need it? Or course!) A really great place for shoppers like me or people who want to experiment with their style but don't wanna spend all their money. read more

You should definitely spend some time searching because the gems are hard to find immediately. They have a great selection of Hawaiian guy shirts for summer and a good quantity of women's clothes, too. This location has fell completely off in terms of having the best slightly worn named brand items for 90% off. I used to be able to come here and get a few Polo half zipped sweaters, Nautica pullover sweaters and J Crew pullovers and other items for less than $50.00. I used to be able to purchase multiple casual items and come out with my bag happy as a clam. I even purchased several North Face fleece sweaters for less than $8.00 a piece!!! After our trip to Dinosaur BBQ across the street, we saw the sign for L Train Vintage. So we followed the sign and found a nice sized vintage (although they had some modern labels mixed in as well)store. You walk in to the men's clothing and shoe section but before you get too disappointed, take a walk through the doorway into the women's section and be amazed! Petticoats, hats, skirts, walls of dresses...it's every vintage lover's dream! My favorite part? The prices of everything I liked were $8-$10 (although they did have a Fendi bag for $50 among some other name brand items that were a bit higher priced). I honestly could have spent at least an hour in there, trying on and sifting through the racks. Shame it isn't closer to me! read more

This store is almost too good to a true. A vintage store in Brooklyn that actually sells vintage clothes for a fair price! You won't have to dig long before discover a gem - 60s hostess dresses for $8, perfectly worn mechanics coveralls for $10, genuine 70s suede jackets for $25. The merchandise is all very well organized and the store is huge, especially for the area. If you're into thrifting or vintage clothing, this is the best that NYC has to offer. read more

I used to love this spot and frequented all of their locations city-wide, but received really poor customer service today. I stopped by this evening with my dog (who is a certified service animal) and was denied entrance despite offering proof of paperwork, etc. The staff continued to refer to signage out front stating 'no pets except service animals' which my dog is and would not let us stay inside the store, saying that the information was incorrect and needed to be updated, that I could call management if I wanted. It was not only upsetting, but also illegal to turn me away. Really disappointed in their lack of customer service that is a result of poor management and employee training. I won't be shopping here again or supporting a business that treats people like this. Hoping that they learn from this experience and will do better in the future with others in the same situation. read more

If you're a fan of 80's bomber jackets and beaded dresses this is the place for you! I have yet to actually walk out of here with something. But I continue to stop in and dig through their racks in search of that hidden gem. L Train Vintage has a lotta bit of everything. Randomly stumbled across this place while walking home from Target on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. There was a sign on 4th ave that said vintage store so I said sure why not. Lo and behold this huge warehouse neatly packed with goods aplenty! High ceilings, lots of natural light, organized racks, clearly marked tags, and beyond reasonable prices made for a wonderful shopping experience! I ended up spending over an hour in here looking through everything. The store had no more than 20 people shopping in it at one time so you could browse the racks with ease. I ended up with a jacket, a shirt, a skirt, and a vest for $60. It's not bargain bin prices but for New York, it's a great deal. Most of the stuff in here I would say is retro and vintage. You won't find Chanel bags or Abercrombie tees here. read more

Lots of items though the selection of styles is limited. The changing rooms don't have mirrors, which was a con for me.
