So much fun. Wonderful vintage and antique items as well as artistic creations. Especially on a beautiful spring day, you can wander around under the bridges and take some wonderful photos! Yay DUMBO!

We visited the Brooklyn Flea this weekend, and it was lots of fun! There were several vendors and a good variety. We enjoyed looking through the vintage clothing, perusing the jewelry and other items such as artwork, crochet, and cameras. Prices seem a little high, but I think haggling is expected. The visitors and vendors all were polite and calm, and the archway provides shade and shelter from the weather.

First visit to the DUMBO Flea Market. It's small definitely not one of those sprawling, flea markets. Everything's crammed under the archway, which already feels like a tight, echoey tunnel on a good day. Add in the wall-to-wall vendors and a swarm of tourists, and it turns into a claustrophobic maze. Like trying to push your way through a packed bar just to reach the bathroom. Personally? Not my thing. Too crowded. Some of the items being sold can be overpriced. A few hit-or-miss items here and there depending on your taste, but nothing worth navigating that crush for.

Spent the afternoon at the Brooklyn Flea Market, and it's a great way to enjoy the day, especially if you're into thrifting or vintage finds. You'll definitely have to dig around a bit to find something that fits your taste, but that's part of the fun. Some vendors are reasonably priced, while others can be a bit pricey--so it really just depends on what you're looking for. Still, it's a solid mix, and you might stumble across something unique. One of the best parts is the view of the bridge nearby, which makes the whole experience feel even more classic Brooklyn. If you want to soak in the local vibe, this is a good spot to walk through, take your time, and maybe find a hidden gem or two. Worth checking out at least once!

I was expecting the flea market to be a little bigger but it was still decently sized! Very very cramped at all the vendors under the bridge so I wasn't able to take my time and really look for something. I do like that there were a lot of jewelry and accessory there. I want to say that the prices are a little more expensive than what I am used to in California but nothing out of the ordinary. It felt like a one time experience and it was right next to the iconic brooklyn bridge photo spot so it was nice to just stop by.

Came here to check it out since was nearby. Its an alright flea market. Some booths even have tiny tents so you can try on clothes and stuff. Ended up not getting anything here cause I found a lot of the stuff very extension but its nice to look at at least.

What a fun flea to go to! This small flea is great to add on to your walking around Brooklyn. Only thing for me is prices were very spendy on stuff thrifted coats for $200 or vintage NYC maps for $95 bucks. Don't expect to get a steal of a deal here but expect to find unique items for sure.

Such a fun market to stop by especially if you are already in the Dumbo area! There is a lot of vintage items here that are great to check out. Many of the vendors do take Apple Pay but it never hurts to make sure you have cash! It is pretty large for what it is and there is a great variety in what is offered. Das Open until 5:00pm on Saturdays!

Gee, if I was a hip Manhattanite with an upscale desire to furnish my SoHo loft with period-appropriate vintage pieces, here I would be. Alas, Jamie W. and I are San Franciscans and stumbled upon the DUMBO market on a particularly crowded Sunday after crossing the even more crowded Brooklyn Bridge. The virulent reality of COVID gave us an unavoidably unsettled feeling about milling about too much, but it was hard to resist the lure of nearly eighty vendors selling furniture, vintage clothing, various collectibles, jewelry, and antiques. Of course, there was a huge food section where people were willing to line up in queues. Queues? They can't possibly be New Yorkers. Someday when the pandemic becomes endemic, we shall return. The day we went, this market was held outside. Please note I believe it normally is held indoors but due to a wedding, it was moved? Regardless, 4 stars simply for being an open air market (again, at least the day we went). The sun was out, the fresh air felt nice and the vendors were very kind. Many of the items are high priced yet it makes sense as it's not a bargain flea. Contrary, seek out the steals and you will find them or they might come to you! For example, I am not a croc gal but purchased my first pair at this market and I am 99% sure they were brand new. I even got the vendor to knock $5 bucks off bargaining. Additionally when we first entered the space, a food vendor handed us free popcorn chicken with delicious dipping sauce because they claimed it was slow. If you're in the area, there's plenty to check out from jewelry, jerseys, hats, tote bags, concert music tops, antiques, and more. Enjoy!

This was a really fun and quick thing to do as an out of town visitor! The flea market is superrrr small but it there's some good, quality stuff there. I bought two beautiful jackets for like $250 because I decided I had to stop buying crap that falls apart and from SHEIN (I think the microplastics from SHEIN are rotting my brain like I drank a cup of soapy water the other day by accident...) and I want more quality items and my jackets did not disappoint. I'd check it out again if I was Brooklyn!

PROS: the flea market has vendors that sell all kinds of things rather than just one general item. Clothes, vintage cameras, toys, artwork, etc. many are priced well CONS: it's cramped so you have to squeeze on by and most of it is outdoors so it's weather permitting OVERALL: amazing shopping area that you have to go to... when the weather is good

Small. No furniture. Mostly jewelry. Not worth the trek because there's really not much to buy.

It has a fun and lively vibe with a mix of vintage items, handmade crafts, jewelry, artwork, clothing, collectibles, and food stands all in one place. What we liked most was how easy it was to spend a few hours just walking around and exploring different local vendors and small businesses. The market feels very New York, with lots of unique finds and creative products you do not usually see in regular stores.

It made my visit to the Bazaar all the more pleasant. I've been coming to Grand Bazaar for more years than I care to remember, having taken a break for ten -- okay twenty -- years. Can't put my finger on why, perhaps I'm not as interested as I used to be. While the market is vibrant and busy, it's not as it was. Perhaps not as much diversity in wares. (I used to get a lot of pottery, art and vintage jewelry.) Back in the day, my friends and I would go to the East Village and buy funky old fur jackets for a song. I kind of had that in the back of my mind coming here. (There are many vintage coat vendors.) But prices have risen considerably. (What hasn't?!) The market is open Sundays, year 'round. Despite buying nothing, I know I'll be back. (Maybe coats get cheaper when it's warmer.) Plus, I like strolling around on the upper westside, which has a different flavor than the eastside, where I live.

I visited right after opening, a little after 10 am (many businesses do not open until 11am, like my beloved Seed+Mill). My first impression was that it reminded me of a food hall similar to what I experienced in various cities in Japan. The variety of foods available is impressive and you really can find it all here, from an Italian grocer to Japanese to the various food stands offering everything from BBQ to the best halvah I've ever had. And there's a Pearl River Mart and other places to find gifts and souvenirs. My favorite of this ilk is Muji Market, which has all the Japanese amazing things! Also of note: very clean bathrooms. It reminds me of the bathrooms at Grand Central, a lot of stalls, sinks in the center, only much, much more pleasant. I'll be back as soon as I can. It's silly that I didn't come here when I actually lived in New York.

The physical location is open to 10pm though most shops and restaurants inside are closed by 8-9pm, only a handful of places like Chote Miya, Miznon, and La Devocione were still open though also wrapping up business for the evening. Wanted to highlight a few more stores here for this review: - Moon Man Foods: a Brooklyn-based company, they have a small stand about a third of the way thru the market (walking east to west), selling southeast Asian kaya jam, which is coconut-based and contain eggs, coconut milk, sugar, starch, and salt. They come in pandan, ube, and Java palm sugar (aka gula melaka) flavors. - Pearl River Mart and Pearl River Mart Foods: back in the day they used to be located in SoHo on Broadway, though rising rents made them relocate, and I'm glad they're still around! They carry all sorts of Asian-inspired decor, serving ware, stationery, and their "Foods" location downstairs is combination of Asian grocery, bubble tea (Milk & Tea), and Korean and Chinese snack/takeout stands (Kimbap Lab and Mao's Bao's). - Muji Market: this is a smaller location that carries a narrower assortment than your average Muji (house wares, basic apparel, accessories, kitchenware, snacks), though they have a full cafe serving coffee and matcha, simple Japanese lunch items like bowls, sandwiches and bento. Cafe prices seem a little higher probably due to the location. - gallery art: there is a small whitewashed hallway gallery of maybe a couple dozen small pieces by local artists, featuring NYC-centric photos, sketches, paintings, multi-media. Found this fun and entertaining!

It actually took place on Summerfield Street, which is right near my house (so I had no excuse not to attend!). So my local artisans and businesses were represented here! It actually is a monthly event held at Gottscheer Hall; I stopped by the initial one in April. It is categorized on Yelp as a "flea market" at moment, but that is really a misnomer; while there were a few booths selling used goods it is predominantly an indoor arts & crafts fair, with some booths selling food products to boot. This might be a good place to check if you were buying gifts; the majority of the goods are likely more appealing to women than men from my judgement. One aspect I do appreciate is that the vendor pool seems to display a relatively diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and tastes and the same goes for the crowd perhaps due to advertising that is also locally-focused; it doesn't feel so much like some of the similar craft markets held in other boroughs, but has a less-pretentious, very neighborhoodly Queens vibe. It seems to, consciously or not, embody Ridgewood quite well rather than attempting to replicate an outside aesthetic in this old neighborhood. Hopefully it becomes even more diverse and representative of the neighborhood as the event evolves. The best part is seeing so many people at Gottscheer Hall for a public event during daytime hours, as well as being able to get eggs and other brunchtime foods they don't normally serve.
