So, I've not had a beer since 2010 and let me tell you, the schiz they pour here is divine! It tastes exactly like I recall nice ale tasting. Service is fantastic and friendly. We ordered some snacks before our evening event and I totally indulge in the very things that are difficult to come by: GF Onion Rings and Pretzel bites. I don't think I've had a soft pretzel in twenty years, and these were a solid attempt at replacing the real deal. They have the chewiness of a soft pretzel and the salt, but were greasy and compressed easily (no spring back). It's, of course, deeply unfair to ask a GF product to be both springy and stable, so I don't dock points for this flaw. The cheese sauce definitely made the appetizer a complete deal; don't be a cheap ass and deny yourself the experience. I found the pretzels also a bit too greasy for my liking, which is evidently due to not having the fryer at an appropriate temperature. The batter was a little thick in places but overall I really enjoyed having onion rings for the first time and goodness knows how long. Thank you, Ghostfish! I've been celiac for a zillion years, and this is the most normal meal I've eaten since that diagnosis! It's so great to look at a menu and know that I can eat WHATEVER I WANT!! My s/o had fish and chips, I had this crispy chicken sandwich. He's not gf, but he loved his dinner! I had a couple of IPAs, he had a stout. I loved my beer, his was kind of "just ok" (though frankly-that's how I ALWAYS feel about stout.) The restaurant itself was pretty busy, since the Mariners had just suffered a rather crushing defeat and we all needed a drink. I do wish that they had regular table service, rather than a self ordering thing. This is Covid world, and I'm sure that in a bar situation that makes life easier. It is always great to be able to go to a restaurant and not have to worry about cross contamination as a person with celiac. Being able to go to a brewery, 100 times better. Gluten Free: Great Idea...not my thing though. I am very much a gluten lover, so I commend those that have to stay away from it for health sake. That makes this place a great destination for those who love beer, but can't have the gluten. That being said: I was not a fan. The beers taste good. Just like an average beer. Nothing exciting in my opinion, and not as many options for those who aren't IPA or Stout fans. The food though, is what really made me realize I was at a gluten free bar. The chicken sandwich was overall nice, but the bread just tasted...different. Don't know how to explain it, but when you know, YOU KNOW! The battered fish and chips was also good, nothing exciting. The fries however...Winner! You wouldn't know those were gluten free what-so-ever. I personally would prefer an ALL gluten brewery now that I've tried this, but again, to those who can't have gluten. I went to Ghostfish Brewing for a brunch event where they had gluten-free donuts (to go with the gluten-free beer they have). Like many places in Seattle parking can be a challenge, but feel free to park on grass along railroad tracks in back of the place. The event was really popular--we arrived 15 minutes after opening and they told us it would be a 45 minute wait (and then after waiting 45 minutes we were told it would be another 45 minutes). They were not set up for crowds and service seemed really poor--people were waiting forever for food. Originally they told us we had to be at table to get donuts, but we saw others queuing up and were able to get the last donut even thought we were not seated. The beer was surprisingly good--I had a Ghost Pepper Saison that was original and good. We left after 90 minutes when we still did not have table and were not sure when one would be available--but i would go back when less crowded. read more

If you're gluten intolerant, this would be a good option for you. I still like my gluten and there are some food items that I've tried here where I definitely miss it, but I respect a place that has a specific thing and tries to do it well. Located in the Sodo district on 1st Ave, Ghostfish Brewing Company is a great place to hangout after work, especially if you're close by. However, there's only street parking and can be a bit challenging depending on when you get there. The charm to Ghostfish is really their beer options and the fact that it feels like a small operation born out of the love of beer. Whether you're a beer lover or a novice, I think you'll be able to appreciate this place. They frequently rotate their drink menu and their "coming soon" beer board always has some interesting drinks that sound good. In the past, I ordered a pint of their Vanishing Point IPA, pork carnitas stadium nachos, and a friend had their fish and (taro) chips. The IPA was refreshing and went well with the food. With a pint of beer and a plate of that gluten free goodness, you could easily spend about $20-$25 per visit. Overall, the food overall was tasty, but the biggest food bang for your buck would be the fish and chips. The fish was piping hot and nicely golden when it came out. read more

I initially was really excited to try Ghostfish Brewing Co. as a celiac. I however was a little disheartened by the food. It was cooked well, but lacked a lot of flavor, specifically salt and pepper in the batter. It tasted as though the food was just coated in batter without any seasoning. I had pretty high expectations and was let down. My husband and I also got dessert to go and the pumpkin cheesecake was wonderful, but our other dessert the apple buddy cake was very yucky. It was hard as a rock and dry... SO DRY. I really wish I had never eaten that. Overall the service was great but the food lacked flavor and the apple bundt cake was a nightmare. read more

It was easier to ask questions in the "before times" but the staff is still available and knowledgeable - - they can help you navigate what's safe for you, and they know not only the ingredients but the kitchen processes. The tacos, fries, and fried fish are all amazing. Literally the only reason this is 4 stars not 5 is their hardline on substitutions for something like a sauce. Oh, and the beer is good. At Ghostfish Brewing Company -- Been wanting to come here for way too long and oh how I wish I would have come sooner! I was 100% not expecting this to be the best brew food I've ever had, especially considering they're 100% GF. Those of you who know me well know my habit of approaching every new-to-me restaurant with the mentality that it may be the only time I visit, so trying 'all the things' is vital. Today was no exception and they had soo many things to try, I barely scratched the surface of delectables that peaked my interest. Prior to this visit I had only tried 2 Ghostfish brews and their Grapefruit IPA is perpetually on my grocery list. Today I tried more than 1/2 their lineup and to my absolute delight there were sooo many other brews that delighted my tastebuds and will be added to the rotation (see list and tasting notes on the last pic). Brews aside (but let me stress...they are sooo good!), the food completely blew my mind! Y'all...I was unprepared for how good their food is! Ho-Lee Shite! Phenom! Best onion rings I've ever had. Beer battered, light, puffy, crispy, fucking smack! And the spicy aioli was fire! Must try, for real. Next was the beer cheese mac & cheese w/bacon. Now, I make a mean mac & cheese and I've yet to taste a GF version that rivals my own. This was hella close and I would a million% order it again. Damn! Now I need to figure out how to make beer cheese! Fish & chips w/truffle fries came next and by now my expectations were high. They did not disappoint! The best fish & chips I've ever had were in Dublin and these def gave them a run for the money. Totally different, the batter on these was puffy, but not too thick, flavorful w/o the tarter, but def enhanced with, fish was perfectly cooked and flaky, and the serving size was impressive. Highly recommend! Truffle fries were good as was the slaw, but not the highlight (as they shouldn't be). What really impressed me was that the batter on the onion rings was completely different than the batter on the fish and chips. They could totally have taken the easy (and likely less expensive route) and used one batter for all the things, but their dedication to taste, texture, and purpose was totally evident and the decision totes pays off for the diner. Last, but def not least on this marathon was the Tres Leches cake. Friends...when I say I almost cried, I'm not lying. So fucking good!!! The outdoor space is nice but the back bar is literally covered in hundreds of tiny little bugs we didn't notice until they were all over our glasses. Upon planning our trip to Seattle I have been eyeing this brewery and restaurant. And let's just say it did not disappoint. Everything was excellent. The service to the brews to the food! My husband and I sat at the counter and enjoyed our time there immensely. We got a flight to try multiples to decide what we liked. And wow! Every single beer was delicious! We also got some pretzels bites and chose the vegan option, crispy chicken sandwich and truffle fries. The crispy chicken sandwich has no dairy in the batter, and the garlic parm truffle fries to be vegan they just remove the parm and they are still delicious! I didn't want to leave, but I also couldn't drink or eat anymore as my belly was full to the brim. I'll start by saying everyone has bad days and sometimes things are out of your control, but I'm going to give my honest opinion! My partner has celiac disease and we've been wanting to try this place forever, finally got the chance to. When we got there, a sign said their delivery got messed up so they had no CO2 aka no draft beers. But, they had cans in the fridge that you could choose from and have them pour for you, so we said okay no worries things happen and at least they have the cans. However, the cans weren't cold. We grabbed from the back for the ones that were the coldest, but they still weren't very cold at all. Pretty big bummer but oh well. For food we decided on the crispy chicken sandwich and the Mac and cheese. They were out of crispy chicken. So, we got the pulled chicken sandwich instead. It was pretty good, had nice flavor. The truffle fries it came with were room temperature, not warm at all. The Mac and cheese was okay but very basic, the cheese is like a sauce and just wasn't the best. I'm totally willing to try again and catch them on a better day, but I wanted to share our experience cause it was a let down for sure. If I go back I will update my review! read more
