Hey friends! This spot is a great happy hour option that's close to the Walter E Convention center & Ronald Reagan building. I ordered a Love Drunk Punch, cheeseburger sliders and a side of fries. The fries weren't on happy hour but still cheap. I enjoyed the cocktail, it was strong! The sliders were okay. I love the fries, frozen fresh but still delicious. -Customer service was friendly. -Parking was rough but it's DC lol -Happy hour prices were really nice. $10 cocktails and $6 cheeseburgers -There was a weird damp smell inside, similar to dirty mop water. I hope you enjoy!
A group of us were in the neighborhood and we decided to give this place a try. The ambiance was very PINK lol. The food was decent as well and the menu was affordable. The burgers range from $11 - $16. The service was quick and efficient too. On this visit, we caught happy hour and the options were good. I had the sliders and mango habanero wings (4pcs). Omg those wings were SPICY! If you can handle the heat, definitely give them a try. I've had this place on my list of "try outs" for a while, so while I was in there I decided to ask about the history/name of the place. I was told that this particular place used to have a "ghost restaurant" inside until the owner bought out the entire place - hence the name.
I came here for lunch. This is a very trendy spot. There is metered street parking within walking distance. The restaurant has a decent sized dining area and a very nice enclosed patio area. It has a hip and trendy vibe, with a neon sign behind the bar. It was also very clean. You can either order food at the counter or order food at your table using a QR code. They obviously serve burgers, but they also have sandwiches, hotdogs, milkshakes, and salads. They also have booze. Even though my interaction with them was limited. The staff was friendly enough. I came in on a busy Saturday afternoon and was able to find a table right away. I ordered and payed for my meal using the QR code. I will say, please remember to use the text message link they send you to close out your tab. Otherwise it will stay open. I ordered a Ghostburger with a side of Ghost Fries. It took about 8 minutes or so for me to get my food. My first impression of my burger was that it was small. However, it was very good. The fries were good too, but a little crispier than I like. I was mfull by the time that I left the restaurant. All-in-all, I really enjoyed my meal. I highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely eat here again.
Delicious burgers. A little pricey for its size, but I say the taste makes up for it. The beef was cooked well and the toppings were fresh. A good sit don restaurant to grab a quick burger.
Just the day before I was speaking with a coworker about the best burgers. He touted Au Cheval in Chicago. I advocated for the Hush Burger available at Hush and Fire at Will, sister restaurants in Scottsdale, AZ. The night before I had a massive steak dinner at a classic steakhouse. I shouldn't have done beef again but I needed food relatively quick and I'd heard high praise for Ghostburger. I went there and while there were several interesting options I chose to go for the straightforward Ghostburger, fries and iced tea. I seated myself with my number card on the table. Tea and water were delivered and it was long until I got the burger and fries. The burger was smaller than expected while the fries could have fed two or more easily. The fries had some chili salt that was really welcome but not quite enough as you moved deeper in the pile. Look. I wouldn't mention those other burgers. But the Ghostburger was delicious. Only the smaller size worked against. It was a nearly perfect burger. The Hush Burger was larger and a bit more pretentious.(Their fries were great shoestrings with housemade ketchup, aioli and iirc ranch). The Ghostburger was just the right mix of proper quality toppings, if imperfect in the quantity measure. Again, a little larger overall burger and a better frie than the crinkles and you get THE winning entry. Maybe they could just offer that larger size. [Edit: You can order a second patty if you like, but I think it would unbalance the burger. There just needs to be a burger closer to a Quarter Pounder sized option] As it stands the Fire at Will Hush burger and fries is still #1. Ghostburger takes #2 but also costs much less and has multiple locations in the DC area. Excellent. I'd definitely go back. 4.8 = 5.
We went here on a Saturday night, but the place was relatively empty. Its seat yourself and order at your table using a QR code. Super simple menu, but the ghost in ghost burger is about spice not being spooky. Everything has some type of pepper involved, so if that's not your thing, I wouldn't recommend eating here. The burgers were fine, but nothing to write home about. The buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty basic and messy. We got chicken tenders which were just fine as well. Their fries have chili seasoning on them, which again was just meh. The cheese sauce wasn't very tasty at all. I also ordered a margarita which was also very meh, it needed a lime or something. What was great were the milkshakes. They were nice and thick and delicious. Overall, it was expensive, even for DC standards for what you're getting.
This place is one of the options you have for meals if you're visiting the Walter E. Convention Center. It was actually on my way to the parking garage, so I decided to try it. I wasn't too hungry, but the good reviews about the shakes persuaded my legs in the direction of its entrance. I quite like the decorations. The pink walls pop. The black and white tiles give a vintage vibe. The cement counters, neon logo, and subtle light balls all worked well together for me. The staff was friendly too. However, I'm afraid the shakes and sliders were mediocre. The sliders tasted okay, but it felt like I was served a microwavable one. The shake was too sweet for me. It's an average American shake. The reviews deceived me. I probably won't be back unless it's for happy hour drinks and to talk.
Went for the first time and did a pick up order. It was all easy to do on the online platform. The food was so good. I got the backyard bbq burger with a GLUTEN FREE BUN. I didn't not ask any questions about cross contamination. My boyfriend for the regular Ghostburger and liked it as well. We ordered wings and also had a side of fries. I would go back and order again.
Pick your seat and scan the QR code to order then be prepared for some great, messy food! The service is efficient and friendly, and the food fast and tasty. We loved everything and would 100% eat here again!
One of my favorite burger spots in DC. The food and service are the reasons I come back and the quality never disappoints. Tbh I'm yet to have anything bad here and I'm sure you'll feel the same once you visit!!!
We ordered our meal to-go and it was such an easy process to order and pick-up. The food was delicious! The burgers just tasted like they were made with love and has a great flavor profile. One of my favorite things was the fresh fresh and crisp pickled cucumber!! We also ordered fries (but without the spice seasoning as it was for our toddler) and the fries were even delicious! So if you are looking for a burger spot, this is a place to checkout!
After hearing so many great things about the "real" philly cheesesteak, I decided I had to try it. Order and pick up process was super easy (pickup is inside Espita, just enter through the front entrance and there is a sign at the bar for Ghostburger pickup). The cheesesteak was excellent and reminded me of the authentic Philly style (with white cheddar whiz). The shaved rib eye steak melted in your mouth and the Sarcone's roll was the perfect slightly chewy texture. Grilled white onions were caramelized perfectly and I thought the proportions were just about right. Overall I give Ghostburger an "A" on the philly cheesesteak. By the way I ordered the 12 oz vs. the smaller 8 oz. sandwich, which despite the higher price was definitely the right call. read more

Ghostburger is a pop-up restaurant inside Espita near the Convention Center in Northwest D.C. It's very much the product of the pandemic. When you walk inside the front doors of Espita, you'll see a small sign by one of the murals by the bar that reads "Ghostburger pick up." It's here you grab your burgers and fries. My house ordered burgers on a Friday night for pick-up. It only took 25 minutes from placing the online order to picking it up. Service was fast and friendly. The burgers themselves were small, but good. I ordered "The Frenchie" with a double patty and it was full of flavor. My crinkle cut fries on the side were a big portion. Each person in our house ordered one and we could have easily gotten away with just two for all four of us. Overall, Ghostburger was a good experience. read more

Grabbed food to go while I was downtown. I guess with all the glowing reviews I was expecting more from Ghostburger, but I found the food to be just okay. Travel from DC to Rockville could have factored into this, so will probably give them another try when a dine in is available again. The single patty (4oz) ghostburger wasn't really memorable. Surprisingly didn't mind the red onions and dill pickles in my burger. Glad my burger wasn't smothered in spooky sauce. The bun was okay, which was a Martin's potato roll. Also tried their Fresno wings, which were just okay. Definitely would have been crispier if it weren't for the car ride. Otherwise, I thought the wings were pretty standard. Shared the Philly fries, which were crinkle cut fries topped with ribeye pieces and caramelized onions. Glad the white cheddar cheese was on the side or else the fries would have been super soggy. Ribeye was tender, but could have used some seasoning. Overall I thought Ghostburger was just okay. Worth a visit when you are in the area, but I suggest only ordering take out if you live relatively close. Note, Ghostburger is located in Espita. read more
My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves here. They have a chill, relaxed vibe going on with really cute pink/black/white color palette throughout. We ate at the bar and our bartender was very pleasant with us. It wasn't busy when we came in, which was right before the Adam Sandler show at Capital One. We both loved the drinks, which doesn't always happen for us. The la carina is very refreshing if you like vodka based drinks. My husband's old fashioned was, as he said, just a very good old fashioned -- nothing extra or over the top just a good drink. I got the Barbie burger with a veggie Patty and hubby got the Ghostburger with chicken and "spooky sauce". We split some Mac and cheese. The Mac is classic, creamy, very good. Nothing extra -- just a very well executed classic Mac. The veggie patty held its own in terms of consistency with the Barbie burger toppings and I could tell it wasn't previously frozen. When you add their sauces and toppings it's a 5 for sure, especially if you like heat then the Barbie burger is a good choice. I love that they have crinkle cut fries but the chili salt doesn't add much so paying the extra dollar for the chipotle Mayo is actually worth it. My hubby said the chicken patty on his Ghostburger was very good -- it was cooked well and seasoned properly, not just a dry lump of chicken. Spooky sauce is needed or it would be boring. If you are in the area and want to try something fun and casual without waiting for some space to open up at unconventional diner, this is a solid option. read more

Ghostburger is one of the very few places I visited more than once during my quarantine takeout explorations. I just sometimes really crave their Philly cheesesteak! I'm kind of craving it right now! I have also had their La Hamburguesa which is spicy, juicy, and wonderfully filling! I hope they stay in the area permanently as right now they are listed as a pop up within Espita. read more

I was so excited to try Ghostburger based off pictures and reviews from fellow Yelpers, but my tastebuds left disappointed! First "Ghostburger" is a pop-up apparently and the location and their menu are within Espita. No biggie - just mentioning so you're not looking for a storefront sign with "Ghostburger." Food: I ordered the La Hamburguesa and my sidekick ordered the double cheeseburger. I was beyond excited to try the La Hamburguesa; have you seen the pics? Oaxaca cheese, peppers, tomatillo, goodness! The reality was so different from the tantalizing pictures. My burger was sorry. It didn't live up to the hype, and I was mad. Where was the gooey Oaxaca cheese? Where was the spice? Take a look at the accompanied pic to this review. We also ordered the churros for dessert. Another sorry mess. Who serves COLD churros? Service: Where Ghostburger excels is the service. Especially during this pandemic, I appreciate the contactless menu and contactless ordering process. You order your food through their website, pay through the site and your food is delivered. Easy. I will say that I want to try Ghostburger again and give the La Hamburguesa another try. But for now, Shake Shack, a big box chain, is still my go-to burger spot. Win me over, Ghostburger! I'm rooting for you! read more

The food was fine. The restaurant is fine. Nothing will come close to it being Espita (even as over priced at it was). Epsita was the best! Loved the margs and all the food. You try coming on an Friday or Saturday night with no reservation and there was at least a 45 minute wait Ghostburger on a Saturday night at 7pm has 8 people in it. You walk in, order off a QR code, the food is delivered and that's that. The cocktails seem batched, the bar is empty. It's just bare and pink. The food isn't bad and it isn't great. It's the type of food you would want delivered or want to get at 1am on a Saturday night. Miss what this place used to be! read more
I actually loved this place. They use the order off the app service and this is a rare place I've seen that actually does it well. (Only bad part is I asked about merch and the server went to ask and was not seen again before we left). The burgers are not enormous which I liked. So many places have giant burgers and I end up leaving half a too big burger and soggy bun. Burger was good and the cheese whiz was an interesting side. More like Chipotle queso than cheese whiz - better actually. Fries and chipotle mayo were also good. read more
A great spot to grab a burger and catch up with friends! There's a ton of seating inside and on their covered patio. You can get a single patty or double patty of all their burgers. LA HAMBURGUESA (queso oaxaca, peanut macha, smoked tomatillo, cilantro) - It was a delicious burger but I wish it had packed more flavors. SPICY FRIED CHICKEN (pickles, chipotle mayo, hot sauce) - Simple chicken sandwich that was executed perfectly! I recommend getting extra of their house sauce and pouring it on the chicken. CRINKLE CUTS - Sadly doesn't come with a burger, but a must get. It's a small portion and you're not going to want to share. read more

Delicious and worth it! The carnitas and rabe ($15) was smoky, the savory juices soaked into the bread. The rabe and onions added some nice acidity to all the meats. The Philly cheesecake ($15) was also amazing. Melting cheese, caramelized onion. My friend got the burger. Honestly it looked a little small, although the patties were very thick. Take out service went smoothly and pick was ready right on time. Only suggestion would be for the subs to be precut in half. And for the takeout bags to provide napkins... read more
I ordered the chick burger - a spicy chicken sandwich with shredded cabbage, pickles, toasted top and bottom bun and a crispy piece of chicken. It's simple and lots of flavor. It can get a little messy while eating but so worth it read more

ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS IN THE CITY! The meat is truly 10/10, the options for the condiments and toppings to put on your burger are well rounded and full of flavor, and the new renovations are adorable! I absolutely love the fact that Espita is no more and Ghostburger took over. Now that we are getting the full Ghostburger bone inside, I can't get enough! Enjoy with your gals before going out for a girls night or enjoy with a beer with the dudes. Ghostburger is becoming one of Shaw's hot spots! Catch it before you can't grab a reservation! read more

This burger makes many of the area's top 10 burger lists for a reason. The taste is AMAZING. Try the ghostburger with bacon. 10/10. They also make very good, large chicken wings with a unique sauce (hints of clove and cardamom). I ordered an Old Fashioned. Exceptional. They use a banana flavored liquor to give it a smoother taste without overpowering the bourbon. A great match for the ghostburger. I'd recommend ordering a single and not the double burger. That way, you will have room to split a second burger, wings, or their great chicken sandwich. My friend raved about the Vegan burger and went back the next day for another one. I have not tried the cheesesteak, but the owners are from Philly and they ship the bread in from Philly fresh for this sandwich. Will have to try it next time. The decor in this place is very simple. You're going for great food that they take a lot of pride in picking the best ingredients. Definitely our top burger choice in DC. read more
This was my 2nd time eating off the Ghostburger menu inside Espita, and I loved it both times. I was put on by a friend. This is truly a gem in the city for a great smash burger. The fries with the garlic Mayo are awesome and the wings. You really can't go wrong with any of them. I will say you may think of getting a double burger but the single is more than enough. That 4oz patty is enough with fries and/or wings. The Smiling Rabbit was my favorite cocktail. I like sweeter drinks. My wife had the classic margarita and said it was the best she has had. My friend the 1st time I was here got 4 lol. Cool vibe and great service as well. I highly recommend this place. Happy hour is until 6pm daily and $3 off selected cocktails. read more

I had no expectations coming in but was pleasantly surprised by their fried chicken sandwich. It's crispy and juicy, and the hot sauce added a nice kick. We also really enjoyed the crinkle-cut fries and hashbrowns. They just fry things well, everything is crunchy without being greasy at all. The chipotle mayo is definitely a star! Everything else was pretty ok. A little on the pricier side (the chicken sandwich is $10 and about the size of my palm). read more

In spite of the restaurant's name, you won't hear any boos if you order the wings at Ghostburger. The only option is a Santa Fe sauce, and true students of the DC wing game know that a specialty wing like this is actually can't miss - there's no hiding behind crowdpleaser sauces. As with all strong specialist wings, GB coming to the table with quality meat - juicy, succulent, tender. The Santa Fe sauce looks hot and like too much at first but the amount is perfectly fine, and the flavor seems to be heavily influenced by a long-stewing tomato base. read more

I'm HOT & COLD on Ghostburger. Excellent flavors, execution, and concept. Both the burgers we had came out insanely good, and I liked the fries too. (Fries: cooked just right, well seasoned, accompanied with a gooey good white cheddar queso, and a smoky garlic aoli) I give applause to the chefs behind the scenes. Mmmmhowever-- the waitstaff was snobby and pretentious and that annoyed me so much. We weren't welcome and clearly not cool enough to be there *eye roll* When we were seated, the woman just pointed at the QR code and walked off to bs with the bartenders who weren't doing much. Water was dropped off at the table by an unhappy quiet guy. It's like, never mind the fact that my phone is on 5% battery, never mind that not everyone is privileged to have a smart phone to read a menu. I get that this is the way of the future but their vibe was really off putting. My friend got his phone out and the virtual menu was taking forever to load. We almost left until we were able to get one of them to pull out this ancient artifact of a paper menu and then look at us funny. From what I can tell Ghostburger is set up for mostly take out and delivery, so I'd recommend it (unless you want to dine in, maybe go elsewhere) read more

Super chill atmosphere, great drinks and tasty food options. I definitely recommend the carnitas nachos!!!!!Staff was super attentive and patient while explaining the ordering process as everything is done through your phone. We absolutely adored our waiter who we chatted with for a bit, digging our style in music and fashion. He recommended some great record and thrift stores nearby. He left and came back with a hand written note of the stores and hours. Greatly appreciated to go above and beyond! read more

I am disappointed to be writing this review. I reached out to ghost burger on social media first to give them a chance to right their wrong, but they did not respond. I have gotten their cheesesteaks before and been happy with them. Unfortunately, I ordered two last night that were a disgrace to the name of cheesesteaks. Look at the photos and judge for yourself. I know they are extra busy right now because President Biden just ate there. Inflation is probably killing their food cost, and it's hard to staff restaurants. I get it. I didn't mind waiting more than the quoted wait time. What I do mind is paying $41 dollars (ordered extra meat on one of them) for what I received. Ghost burger is part of a restaurant group that really needs to reevaluate what they are putting forward. Update: they did respond to me and offer me a refund. They stood behind their "cheesesteak though," and claim it is one of their "bestselling" items. Perhaps if you are lactose intolerant? read more
