I am always on the lookout for a great new burger place as part of my quest to find the best burger(s) in the DC area. Unfortunately, Ghostburger disappointed. We ordered the BBQ burger, the LTA burger, and the crinkle cut fries. Both of the burgers included items that were not listed on the menu - the BBQ burger had pickles and the LTA burger had some sort of sauce, both of which were detrimental to the burgers. The patties were nothing special (decently seasoned, but a little thin and dry) and not worth the price. The red pepper relish on the LTA burger was quite good though. My review would have been two stars if it hadn't been for the fries - those were really good. They were well seasoned and had a good texture (thick yet still crispy). read more

Everything is amazing!!!!! If you're in the mood for a burger or a philly cheese steak, you won't regret going to Ghostburger. The Ghostburger and the burger de Paris are just perfect. The patties are very high quality beef and perfectly browned and smashed. The burger de Paris just melts in your mouth in a beautiful combination of creamy wholesomeness with a nice blue cheese kick. Fries are crispy and seasoned to perfection. Make sure to try the cheesesteak fries for a pretty unique taste extra smiles. The cheesesteak simply is like no other in DC. It just melts in the mouth - the freshly baked buttered soft roll is generously filled with deliciously seasoned beef and an out of this world house made cheese blend. Heard about this restaurant online and wanted to try it out. It's located inside Espita near the convention center metro stop. You can walk inside and are given your food at the counter. I ordered the Crispy Chick and a single patty Ghostburger with an order of Crinkle Cuts fries. I personally think the Ghostburger was pretty small and the Crispy Chick was what I expected for a chicken burger to be sized. The food was pretty good, I enjoyed the sauce and the unique flavoring. The chicken burger felt based in some kind of Mexican themed seasoning and I thought it was pretty good. I do think there was a bit too much sauce because every bite I took had it coming out of the sides. The fries didn't seem special compared to anywhere else, the sauce they included with the fries was a good addition but I don't think it elevates the fries enough to make it worth it. Service was really good, I enjoyed being able to just order on my phone and receive a text when its ready. The cashier was very nice and offered utensils, I was in and out quickly. Overall I think its worth a try but I don't think it's worth having again due to the price and the sizing of the food. It's special the first time because I've never had it before but I don't think its worth having again unless you have money to spend. read more

The steak and cheese was eaten in the car on the way back to Fairfax and it was goood! Juicy steak, crusty but soft bread and oozing with cheese! I came across Ghostburger in my search for burger place the other day. I have to say the photos on their website are extremely inciting, so I decided to give it a shot. I went with the Ghostburger (double patty, but you can also do single) and the crinkle fries. You had the option to add cheese and bacon to the fries (I went without). Honestly, this is one of the best burgers I've had in a while. The cheese was super melty, the "spooky sauce" had a great flavor and the patties were cooked perfectly for me. The patties are also only 4oz, so the burger was easy to eat (I thought) but it still packed in so much indulgent flavor. The fries were also great. They came with a garlic mayo and ketchup for dipping. I ordered for delivery and the process was easy. Couldn't have taken more than 30 minutes from order to my doorstep. I also found that it delivered well. I've had some soggy burger and fry situations lately, but this was not the case. Overall, I'm thrilled I found this place. Price point is good, cheaper than I'm used to even (about $14/15 for a double and $4 for the fries), and the food really hit the spot. My boyfriend wanted a cheesesteak so I decided to get on Yelp and find a decent one in the area. I found Ghostburger, and for a soft opening the food was decent, having just opened 2 days ago. We were greeted at the door by our server. I had the ghostburger with bacon. Burger patty was pretty dry and over cooked, but the spooky sauce was flavorful with a kick. The burger was pretty small for the price. The Philly fries were decent. The cheese sauce came on the side. Not something I'd want to pay $13 for again. Finally, the cheesesteak was amazing! There was just enough cheese whiz and plenty of flavorful ribeye on the soft bread. Honestly if I were to go there again, I'd get the Ribeye Cheesesteak. Service was fast and friendly! Came in on a Wednesday night at around 9 pm. Got the ghost burger and added bacon for 12$ and got the BBQ burger with no add ons for 11$. Restaurant does look nice to sit down at with the pink ambience neon lights. Little pricey for just a burger and they did not have any combos or specials. Another Instagram restaurant. Love the pink aesthetic, service is 10/10 but the burgers were mid. I think they got an amazing concept for their burgers and can improve a lot so I give it a 3 if you are craving a burger + fries and need to take friends/family to a cool spot this is a place they'll like. Wow! This place is so convenient for me. The beef tasted like cotton candy. I had the Ghostburger with all the fixings. Usually after eating beef, I'd feel lethargic but with this, I assume grass fed option, I was good to go. I felt like I had a Turkey burger or something. $15 for an 8oz burger without fries or a drink and without any napkins or cutlery is rather pricey to me. However, I will say that this burger was 10x better than some of the pricier options Ive tried in the area (Capital Burger $23‍). read more

It was so good I didn't even have time to take a photo. Nom, nom, nom. It's always impressive when the delivery comes hot and like it was just taken off of heat. I got La Hamburgesa and was so impressed. I don't even usually like burgers but I was in the mood for fries. The mention of Oaxacan cheese got me hooked and I have to say I would have gotten the double patty if I knew this burger would taste so flavorful and juicy. Their ketchup and garlic mayo was tasty. As someone who's getting into photography, the theme is super cute! The color in the restaurant is so vibrant, the bar area and retro photos on the wall combined very well. I had the classic ghostburger with fries.. DELICIOUS. I'm not from the area so I thought pricing was a bit high, but I haven't had a burger that well done in a VERY long time so no complaints on that! We arrived around 9:40pm and left in less than an hour. The service was amazingly fast and the cook, I believe, personally delivered the food to our table. Super kind and friendly. read more

Excellent food in Washington DC. Don't be turned off by the name or the location. The dishes are mouthwatering. Burgers taste like they just came off your uncle's backyard grill. Plus there are crispy chicken sandwiches and some of the most delicious Fresno wings. The Mac n cheese is Vegan but you would never know it. It tasted like macaroni mixed with the sharpest cheddar and a dry havarti. But actually the whole thing is made with nut milk. Recently my husband, my three year old, and my one year old came here for lunch. It's always a challenge going out to eat with two toddlers but we felt at ease at ghost burger. The inside is super fun with all the pink decor. We quickly placed our orders and the most delicious food came out. I ordered the wedge salad with a side of fries and my husband got the ghost burger with fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and my husband, who loves a good burger but also will quickly criticize a bad one, said it was one of the best he had. read more

This place is an absolute scam. While the ambiance is cool, the food prices are absurd for the amount you actually get. I got a drink and a burger and it was $30 (including the mandatory tip they gave themselves for walking it out from the kitchen). The burger was no bigger than a sand dollar and it didn't even come with a side. I was hungry- so I got a double - and even that didn't come close to satiating my hunger. I would rather eat a condiment-less Big Mac from McDonald's with sandpaper as the buns than come back to this terrible establishment. Will not return. read more

We ordered The Reubenesque and the Ghostburger. Not gonna lie, we were surprised how small they were. We got single patty, so you might think twice before ruling out the double patty. The single is a 4oz patty (for reference, the smaller patty at Big Board is 6oz). We were fine with small portions because we planned to indulge later on dessert. Both burgers were tasty and cooked well. The buns were nothing special (and small again). Overall the Ghostburger reminded me of Shake Shack, especially on portion size. Crinkle Cut fries were nothing special...I think they really needed salt. We also got the Chocolate Cookie and the Peanut Butter Cookiewich. Both were good but we liked the PB better...probably not a fair comparison since it has a filling. Not a heaping portion of filling, so don't be intimidated by a cookie sandwich. I am staying at a hotel right near this location and was looking for something to eat that was a safe distance to walk to. Ghostburger was fantastic. I ended up coming in twice during my week stay. I got a Ghostburger with bacon and onion rings my first visit and a Crispy Chick sandwich with a wedge salad the 2nd trip. I also got a chocolate chip cookie on the 2nd trip. Everything was SO good. The buns are soft and buttery. The pickles are fabulous. Everything was definitely fresh. I love the vibe here. Cute decor and whimsical with the hot pink touches. The wait staff don't leave you waiting for anything. As soon as I sat down both visits you get a large glass pitcher of ice cold water. As you clear your plate, the staff clear your table efficiently but never made me feel rushed. I ate alone both nights and sat reading on my Kindle. GET A COOKIE!! read more

The cheesesteak is by far one of the best we ever had. Also we tried the ghost burger and the Frenchie, both of which were really good; but, the cheesesteak was really the star of this show. Oh I almost forgot we got some cheese bacon Fries which I presume is the same cheese sauce that's on the cheesesteak and boy does it slap. Came this place in an Uber because my son wanted a burger. This spot looked pretty good. Too bad the hostess was really rude and shun us off. Great cheesesteak but a bit overpriced. I got the $15 one, which was good, but if you want a really stuffed sandwich, opt for the $20 (which seems way overpriced). Anyway, the onions had good flavor, the bread soaked up just enough of the juices, and the cheese was deliciously melty. The crinkle cut fries had good seasoning but if you get them delivered, they will be a soggy mess. The garlic aioli is dynamite, I think I had dreams about it. The ghostburger was really good, extra cheesy and juicy. I got the double patty, which was just enough, but a single seems like it would be pretty small. DoorDashed this tonight and can't say I was particularly impressed. The cheesesteak was fine. Definitely would not call it a "real" Philly cheesesteak. They were rather skimpy on the cheese and onions. The fries were a little soggy, but at least the cheese dip was good. The biggest disappointment was the dessert. We got the rice krispy treat with chocolate topping. The rice krispy treat is stale and cost me $10. Don't waste your money. I hate being disappointed by dessert. read more

Ghostburger is a pop up burger place near downtown DC with pretty good sandwiches and burgers. I ordered on ubereats for delivery and got a basic single ghostburger and crinkle fries on the side. The ghostburger was pretty delicious but a little messy to eat. The flavors were really delicious and I liked the cole slaw that was added. The fries were cold by the time they got to me, but overall the meal was really delicious and I'll definitely eat their burgers again. Next time I might not get it delivered and do carry out so I can guarantee that the food is still hot by the time it gets to me. read more

I ordered food for pickup here. I'm only giving 2 stars because the servers were really nice. I got the wings, fries, and chicken philly cheese steak. Out of the 3 food items, the wings were the best. Not too spicy but the flavor was flat. The fries are next. They were cold and felt soggy like they had been sitting out for a while. And the chicken philly cheese steak was what 2 people recommended to me by workers there and it was disgusting. I only took 2 bites and the 2nd bite was forced. Threw the whole sandwich away. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they use it in, but it almost tasted soapy or highly processed and just wrong all together. I'm sad because I was really looking forward to eating at a fresh new spot, and the whole experience was disappointing. It took all of 5minutes from ordering to getting my food. At first I thought it was a good sign, but once I tasted everything, it let me know it had all just been sitting out and ready to go before I had even ordered. As a Philly native I have to say... this is the best cheesesteak in the city! The roll was fresh, the meat and toppings were delicious, and the cheese was gooey and was just enough not to make the roll soggy. A lot of places skimp on the filling and they filled it to the top. The order was ready early and it traveled well, it was still great after 20 mins in the car. If I had to give any feedback it'd be that the caramelized onions were a tad sweet, but other than that i was super happy and impressed with the meal. My partner is from Philly and has high standards for cheesesteaks. We have found some places with versions that have been good enough to satiate a cheesesteak craving but he wouldn't call them a "Philly Cheesesteak." He just had the cheesesteak from Ghostburger (no mayo) and we both saw/smelled it and thought of Philly. And then we tasted it and it was *so good*. Seriously, my partner has not stopped talking about since he took the first bite, and it's been 20 minutes. This has changed his life in DC, according to him. I had the shroomsteak, which was also very tasty and satisfying. The bread is really clutch--it makes a world of difference and they nailed it with these Sarcone's rolls. We actually ordered from here twice this week. The first time I ordered the broccoli rabe pork sandwich and he had the Frenchie burger. The burger was absolutely delicious--he called it "perfect." I also loved my carnitas and broccoli rabe sandwich--it was a nice spin on the classic Philly roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwich. It was extremely tasty and well-seasoned. My only concern is that this is a ghost restaurant and his favourite cheesesteak may someday disappear forever. Please don't ever leave us, Ghostburger. You're delicious. read more

Was looking forward to trying Ghostburger this summer after seeing some photos of their menu items circulating online. This place shares kitchen space with Espita restaurant. As usual with this being my first experience I purchased multiple menu items in the event I do not return. I ordered the A Real Philly Cheesesteak (12oz ribeye variety), Ghostburger and bacon cheese fries. I was a bit disappointed with the cheesesteak because I opted for the extra meat (12oz) and very much the sandwich was underwhelming in perception and in physical weight. I anticipated the sandwich to be a monstrosity. When it comes to hot subs I judge them on flavor, amount of cheese and ratio of meat to bread. You'd think a sub with 12oz of beef ribeye, which is the upgrade to the 8oz, would have the meat falling out of the bread however in this case the ratio of bread to meat was higher on the bread side. I couldn't imagine this sub with 4oz fewer meat. Very much underwhelmed with the cheesesteak and probably more so because it was advertised as a real Philly cheesesteak which comes with high expectations in my book. Any Philly cheesesteak lover would probably say the same thing. The cheese fries also were a bit underwhelming. The cheese was placed in a chit rather than directly in the fries despite the to-go container being suitable to pour the cheese directly on the fries. The cheese just wasn't hitting in the flavor category. This was a takeout order so I made certain to check the quality of the food in the car prior to driving off (a rule of mine for takeout orders) to ensure the food is fresh prior to driving home. The food was very fresh. I don't live far from this place so really that wasn't the issue. I think I'll give this place another try and dine-in the next time to see if their quality improves with dine-in orders. I think the potential is there. read more
