    Selections of the day

We all really enjoyed our selections from here as we started our day in Gettysburg. It wasn't a long walk down to the circle and stepping in we were greeted by smiling faces right away. The Raisin Twist was my favorite and props to a previous helper for asking them to warm it up a bit. It had a nice ratio of icing and cinnamon and raisins while still tasting lighter. The raspberry and cheese danish tasted fresh and had a good balance between the sweet and savory. The smaller members of the party opted for chocolate chip and oatmeal and raisin cookies. We sat in the back room and enjoyed a break from touring the area. We will be back for sure.

As a professional baker, I enjoy trying out baked foods on my vacations. This week in Gburg, I saw great reviews for Gburg Baking. I took my teenage son and together we ordered an americano, a mocha latte, a chocolate chocolate chip cookie, an apple tart, and an almond tart-ish pastry, which had a croissant top-style bottom (?). $28 total cost. Somehow I missed that they don't offer indoor seating, but you'll want to know that. The coffee was pretty good; the tart was nice and the almond pastry had great flavor. I didn't even get to snap a pic of the cookie, but my son said it was delicious. I arrived in the afternoon, so I'm not surprised by the texture of the tart. It was nice, still.

Apple cranberry hand pie & Raspberry Cheese Danish

Hand Pie This was delicious. Thinly sliced and stacked apples inside, with the tart of cranberries. Perfect amount of sugar/sweetness. I asked them to warm it and that melded all the flavors. Raspberry Danish The cheese was nice and smooth, good density. There needed to be more raspberry to make the ratio per bite better. Good overall. The banish was soft and fresh. Raisin Twist This was even fresh tasting the next day. I stored overnight in an airtight glass container. It still tasted as fresh as when I bought it. Everything was very good. I would recommend.

This was some of the best coffee and breakfast pastries I've had. The coffee itself was an awesome blend. My wife got a lavender matcha and said it was the best matcha she's had in a long time. She actually went back later that same day to get another one. We got some pastries, all of which were excellent. I got the ham and swiss on a croissant, which may be a bold choice of breakfast. But absolutely no regrets. The croissant was the star of the show and was the most perfectly flaky croissant I've ever had. There was plenty of ham and swiss, but it wasn't overwhelming to the point where it outshined the croissant. There is a seating area inside. And overall this place has the perfect coffee bar vibe.

Nice little bakery/sandwich carry out. Good food. Not necessarily worth a destination, but good if you're in the center of Gettysburg. Employees do NOT wear masks, which was disappointing. Wouldn't want to spend too much time in here.

    Breakfast panini

I really felt like this place was disorganized and it took forever to get our order. We were from out of town and had looked this place up online. We swung by and it seems to be attached to a gift shop (which was really cute). There was looked to be seating outside but it was roped off for the winery. Then I was standing there waiting for my breakfast panini for at least 10 minutes and then finally the lady said, I can bring it out you if you want to take a seat. I asked where do we sit. She said, through the back door. There is a door in the back that leads to a hallway with very little seating. When I got my sandwich I was disappointed. It was nothing special. I would spend my time finding a breakfast restaurant, not a bakery.

Black bottom cupcake! JUST ORDER IT!

Tucked in a corner of a roundabout, we almost missed this place. There is a tiny sign in the window and that's it. The place is small and shares space with a very cute shop, but there is nothing small about the food! The black bottom cupcake is ridiculously good! Wow! Apple tart is classic and the dough is so good with just the right amount of sugar. Coffee is a must with the two and it is way better than any Starbucks coffee. Actually the Starbucks up the street was empty. Yup we ate the dessert first and then had the adult grilled cheese with tomato soup and couscous. Cheese, avocado and bacon on homemade white artisan bread...Wowowowow! This gets my vote! Wonderful customer service! There are not a lot of tables to sit at, but it works if it is not crowded! I would stand and eat! It's THAT good!!!

The smells alone will lure you in never mind the tray of baked goods in the window. The fresh apple tart was the best I've ever had

My wife and I both had the shrimp baskets and two soft drinks for lunch. The shrimp baskets were $17 each and the soft drinks $3 each. With tax and tips the total bill came to $50. The shrimp were obviously pre-battered and frozen but they were pretty tasty. The french fries had some kind of a nice crispy coating and were excellent. The coleslaw was pretty tired. The service was cordial and quick. The decor is as I remembered very nice. There is free parking behind this restaurant, but not many people know it is there. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I think that the cost of the luncheon was a little more than it should've been for what we received. Had the shrimp been coated with a batter and fried from scratch (instead of being taken out of a frozen bag) I might've been able to award five stars. But... All in all this restaurant continues to hold its "very good to excellent" reputation for food and service over many years. I would die there again and I would recommend it with no reservations.

We were there on a busy Saturday; they were clearly slammed and probably understaffed, and it took a bit over 20 minutes after ordering to get our food. Other than the wait for the kitchen, the service at the table was very good. It felt a bit pricey at about $62 for two with tip. Cheesesteaks were good but on the small side for $17 and $19 (the latter on a gluten‑free bun), and a little light on the Cheese Whiz. That, plus a cider and a Coke, left the overall experience somewhat underwhelming.

This is our 2nd visit in 3 days, we absolutely love the Italian Sub & Ham and Cheese Sub. The Sub Roll is perfect (They make their breads fresh daily here) ! The meats and cheeses along with a nice selection of toppings are all so very fresh and flavorful ! We can't wait to try some of their Paninis and Breakfast Sandwiches . They look amazing ! The menu offers a very nice selection of sandwiches and salad's .... The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and seem to really have a passion for their job . Service is outstanding, they make your selections fresh The interior is very welcoming and spotless, they do have a very heartwarming board on a side wall that folks and local business has pre-paid for food for those in need, awesome ! Inside the shop you can sit in between Five Loaves and Deja Brew Coffee Shop & Bakery. It's a must stop on the Bakery side, so many amazing pastries, cake, muffins and the list goes on We highly recommend supporting this small business

Today's was one star, bread was so burnt I thought I'd gotten the wrong bread when I unwrapped it. Looks NOTHING like their usual sub rolls. Was also weird plastic thin strips in it. Was a sad sandwich and took a long time to make. Seems like today was not their day. It'll be a while before I try again. Was over 15$ for sandwich chips and drink where sandwich was hard to eat just tasted like burnt dry bread.
