Our 3-tier wedding cake was absolutely fantastic, and so was our overall experience with Karen. She has an adorable cake shop built out of her house where you can see tons of decor examples to choose from when you go for your tasting... she really can do anything and is a true artist! On our wedding day, the cake was delivered promptly on time to the venue and in perfect condition. And not only was the cake beautiful, but it was absolutely delicious! We went with almond chambord, and everyone loved it... my family was fighting over the leftovers. My mom claims the cake was the best part of my entire wedding, and wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks after (not exaggerating). MULTIPLE of my guests independently told me it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. My husband and I both agree, unbiasedly! It was so moist and flavorful. The leftovers tasted just as good days later. We're counting down the days to eat the top tier for our anniversary! I highly recommend Karen for any type of cake! Thank you Karen! read more

the best of the best. karen is a master. if you want the best there is-go see karen. prices are very fair, the cakes are exceptional.

Beautiful cake, a mile high! Karen did a custom cake + frosting flavors for my husband's birthday and it was delicious. Would rival any 5-star bakery in Washington or Philly at 1/3rd the price. AND, she did it last minute with 4 days notice. So nice. Cash only!! Her decorative work is very professional something you'd see in a big name - meticulous and pleasing to the eye. Would most definitely order again. read more

This cake and everything about it was so beautifully done. It was one of the things guests kept commenting on. The taste was out of this world. And she offers confetti cake. She had me there, honestly. Everyone thought it tasted amazing, and Karen executed my vision perfectly. She worked with our florist to "float" the top tier on a bed of baby's breath. It was incredible to see it in person. My one and only tiny issue, is there was no email option. I am out of state and I work a job that has me in the field nonstop in a loud city. There were times I just wanted to email her, rather than call, but the end product was out of this world yummy and gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend Karen! read more

Karen Rodkey Cakes - Simple 3 layer cake with buttercream frosting. SO YUMMY! - Bakeries Near Me - Littlestown, Pennsylvania

:(Our cake was epic. We were very worried because the cake was included in our wedding package at the hotel. We felt a lot better when we met Karen and saw her cake models. We knew it would be good but were blown away when it was revealed. We both are dog people so we had a black and white poodle as the cake topper. She did a great job placing them. The cake was three flavors and was tasty. The only bad part was we had to cut it up and serve it :( A work of art. read more

How Karen could not have 5 stars blows my mind. She was literally the only one f my wedding vendors that did everything right, with the least amount of direction. I am so grateful to Karen for her talent and professionalism. Many of my wedding guests raved about the best wedding cake they had ever had and they weren't lying, her cakes are not only beautiful, they taste amazing. read more

Excellent cakes and customer service: I have purchased three cakes in a 2 month period. The first cake was for a birthday and I ordered a strawberry shortcake with chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate shavings and a birthday message. The cake was excellent everyone said how good the actual yellow cake one. Then I ordered another for a memorial service and she designed a cross and the Navy emblem again the cake got great comments. I have already ordered my third. Karen is a wonderful baker, designer and very pleasant to work with and on top of that the cake is very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend her and her fabulous cakes at anytime or any occasion. read more

We had a Karen Rodkey creation for a large family party this past weekend. Wow! So many guests went out of their way to tell me how tasty the cake was and where did I get it! At Karen's suggestion, we did two flavors on our two layers: Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Ganache - both were excellent! Karen was exceptionally nice to work with and I highly, highly recommend her expertise for any special event. The cakes were so fresh, so well presented. We managed to save a very large section of cake to take home with us and freeze so we can savor it later on. read more

We ordered a cake a few years ago for our wedding! What an experience! Seriously. I loved every moment from the tasting to delivery. She let us taste a number of types, and they were all quite amazing. We decided on a neat combination with red velvet and chocolate. No other cake will ever compare. We've tried to find bakers in our area that are equivalent, but we can't find anything. I was most concerned with the cake showing up in one piece, and Karen did a great job. As planned with unique little butterflies and gum paste flowers, intact and on display like any wedding cake should. She matched the color to our bride's maid's dresses with skill. Home Depot couldn't do color match better on paint! All and all, I'd give her 6 stars if I could. In fact we froze bits of our remaining layer of cake for several years after the date. Still it tasted amazing. One of these days we'll have to take a ride up to pick up another cake just for fun! read more

I went with my mom-in-law to Karen's house to pick out a cake for my wedding. I am slightly obsessive about details and getting things right. It's an important time and undoubtably an expensive adventure, so it's important to make sure you are happy. Karen was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She took a picture and expanded my vision to incorporate the capacity and scaling of the cake that I needed. She offered a variety of mini cake samples to try and even boxed them up for us to take home--no complaints here (and it was really nice since my husband was working that day and didn't get to come to the initial tasting. The bridal party also got to sample the leftovers). I gave her quite the challenge of take a fondant (very smooth and clean design) and using buttercream instead. She did it perfectly. We go exactly what we wanted, and there were so many compliments on it. It still tasted amazing a year later! Ha! read more

I had Karen make my wedding cake for the links at Gettysburg (was highly rated by the venue) and I expected a entirely different cake then I received. The cake tasted good but the design looked NOTHING like the photo I gave her. What was most disappointing was the look. I picked a black and white cake with no designs and she managed to mess that up. the cake was cracked and had may visible mistakes, which looked like she had no cake making experience. I started planning 1 year prior to our wedding date and I could never receive emails or calls back from her. it took a call from my venues phone for her to answer ONE week before my wedding. read more

I met with Karen Rodkey to do my wedding cake and grooms cake for my wedding. Everything was fine at that juncture, but when I would try to contact her via email (as she requested) to give her ideas for the grooms cake, she would never reply. I called several times to communicate with her on how the grooms cake should look and each time, she was dismissive and didn't seem to care too much. Then, a couple days before my wedding, she contacted my husband to resend the emails as she had no idea where to find them. On the day of my wedding, my cakes didn't show up until 2 hours after the set delivery time. My guests were already there and the wedding was starting shortly and NO CAKES. When they did arrive, Karen Rodkey (who was no where to be found) had 2 other people who I had never seen before bring the cake. They didn't even put it on the cake stand. Also, it was in our agreement that she would place fresh flowers on the cake (provided by my florist) when SHE delivered. That was never done since she did not deliver. Luckily, my officiant and his wife along with my videographer put the cake on the cake stand and decorated it with the flowers. My photographer didn't even get an opportunity to take photos of just the cake as it was so late. I never heard from Karen and never got any explanation or apology. Karen is very unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone get their wedding cake from her. read more

When we tried Karen's cakes at a bridal open house we knew they were good and when I saw a model of a cake she had I knew that was THE cake. The most important thing I wanted for our cake with our wedding was for our guests to say "Wow, that's a cake!" and for it to taste really good and Karen hit it out of the park for both. Our cake was so delicious and spectacular. So many of our guests said it was the best cake they ever had and it was the prettiest cake they had ever seen. Thank you Karen! read more

We traveled out-of-state to get Karen to create our wedding cake because she was so vastly superior to anyone in Maryland that we found! The cake she made for us was AMAZING, the most beautiful cake I've ever seen or tasted. Our guests RAVED about the Almond Pound Cake with the custom Amaretto Liqueur frosting. She also is one of the nicest people; she's very helpful and very punctual. Her decorating skill is out of this world, our cake was so beautiful it was almost too pretty to eat! ...ALMOST ;) read more

Our cake for our wedding was beautiful and delicious. She made three different types of cake for our four layers, and it tasted fantastic. We found her through our reception venue, The Gettysburg Hotel. Her chocolate peanut butter cake is fantastic! All of the ones we had (funfetti, marble, and choc. peanut butter) tasted delicious. I highly recommend her! read more
