Outstanding bakery. After reading reviews , we visited the other day. Bought some scones, brownies, cookies and something else that was all fabulous. Server answered all questions and was very nice. I got married on 8-10-2019 and Gateau Monique did my three tier wedding cake for me. Monique was so friendly and made us an absolutely beautiful wedding cake. She did exactly what we asked for. We got a white cake, with chocolate mouse filling and buttercream frosting. It tasted so delicious. We froze the top tier for our one year anniversary which we will try soon. This year we did place an order for custom cupcakes the exact way we had our wedding cake to serve at an anniversary get together we had with our Family and they tasted great too. This bakery is a gem. We were passing through this morning and stopped for a to go pastry type breakfast. The selection was amazing. The gentleman that helped us was knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. The scones were the most delicious we have ever tasted! Everything we got did not disappoint event the iced coffee was a stand out! This is a bakery we will be going out of our way to visit again and again and keep in mind for events! Everything I have tried has been excellent. My favorite is the chocolate chip scone but that is one of more than a dozen different items that they have on any given day. Their fruit pastries are also excellent as are there cookies. They also have a really, really good apple crumble and you can get delicious milk from a local dairy in returnable bottles. Cliff, the nice young man that works the counter is a pleasure to meet and the stores namesake, Monique is always close by, running the kitchen during the week or behind the counter on Saturday. She is always pleasant and the place has the feel of an old french bakery. It's quite nice. It's a little more pricey than the grocery store bakery but you definitely are getting a way better product plus Monique is local and we really need to support local businesses before all we have are Walmarts. read more

Make sure to call because Yelp said they were closed today (Wednesday) but the bakery was in fact open. I have only stopped in once, but it will not be my last visit! This little bakery is a jewel box. I tasted two varieties of scones today. They were fresh and packed with flavor. The baker/owner is friendly and a delight to meet. It's mainly a take-away operation, but in good weather you can enjoy your treat with coffee at a few outdoor tables. Amazing little bakery on 97. Monique and the rest of the staff are super friendly. I've tried their bacon-cheddar poptarts, toffee brownies, and cookies. All have been super delicious. They also have homemade PB-banana dog treats for $1. Decent prices since everything is made from scratch and very high quality. I always look forward to stopping by when I'm in the area. read more

We worked with Monique at Gateau Monique to create a dessert buffet for our wedding. Everything was phenomenal! And we had a little bit of everything - 2 types of cupcakes, espresso mousse, fruit tarts, and mini cheesecakes. The cheesecakes were my husband's favorite, but I like the chocolate peanut butter cupcakes the best - yum!!! The desserts also looked beautiful and were artfully arranged on the table. Monique is a very talented, classically trained chef. She made our wedding cakes, all of the cakes were amazing and beautiful. Her vanilla cake with cream cheese icing is the best! Her cakes are made to order, but if you stop in she will have many individual options such as brownies or lemon bars. I highly recommend. read more

An exceptional uplift to the Littlestown area. I stumbled upon this cozy little bakery while painting a nearby house and it quickly became a routine visit on my lunch break. I've tried the lemon bars, bread pudding (that the owner politely warmed up for me), coffee, and a few other pastries which I cannot recall the names of, all of which I found to be more than satisfying. Along with the decor and pleasant customer service any short- comings can only be due to it being slightly ahead of its time. I hope that this is the start of many better things to come in this small town and can't wait to return for more coffee and a new fresh pastry! read more

We showed up with online pictures of "naked" style cakes, and she was very flexible and open with discussing ways to go about designing such a cake. What a pleasant surprise, right off the center stop light 97 south , me and my wife stopped in this quaint and tasteful shop, we fount very unique pastries and baked goods often found in New York restaurants, I purchased 4 lemon squares topped with a marshmallow whip topping, they were delicious, as well we purchased a few other items like designer cupcakes . This is a great stop on the way to Gettysburg, a stop for us every time! read more
