I saw display cases that contained cupcakes, scones, rolls, cheesecakes, brownies, blondies, etcetera. I purchased four baked goods: one cinnamon roll, two cookies, and one muffin. After I paid several dollars for my four baked goods, I noticed several slips on the wall. The employee said that the slips were prepaid and that customers could use the slips to receive free foods. How nice! I appreciate whoever paid for those slips. I ate my four baked goods at home. The snickerdoodle cookie (5 stars) was one of my favorite snickerdoodles that I have ever eaten in my life. The cinnamon roll (4.5 stars) was a large size and had a sweet maple flavor that I liked. The banana-caramel muffin (4.5 stars) was nicely sweet and was topped with a banana chip. The oatmeal-raisin cookie (4.5 stars) was medium-sized and had the right ratio of ingredients. Overall, Sugar Butter Bakery's selection of baked goods was not large, especially in the late afternoon when I went, but their quality was high. I recommend stopping in Sugar Butter Bakery if you are in the area.

Afterward, I decided to place an order myself to share with my coworkers! I ordered half a dozen of 4 different types of cookies which got devoured! I admired her dedicated service- answering all my questions and sharing a bit about herself and the business- even over the phone!

The flavor was natural, with actual strawberries mixed throughout the ice cream and small pretzel pieces for a salty crunch. A wonderful mix of sweet and salty! And to be fair, they deserve to be popular. Still, waiting in a long line outside in the summer heat...it's no fun. BUT if I'm driving by and the line is short for a change, I'll take a detour and get myself a sweet treat. So, why's Antney's so popular? Because we all love a family-run ice cream shop. They serve homemade cones and a nice mix of (also homemade) ice cream scoops, milkshakes, sundaes, and even frozen yogurts and sorbets. Parts of the menu rotate regularly too (specifically, I've read that some flavors change daily). So while you can always expect to find the classics here, you never know what else awaits you. Case in point: I stopped by last week and to my delight, Nutella Cookie ice cream was on the menu! I ordered a milkshake version and let me tell you, it was the best milkshake I've had in quite a while. Absolutely delicious flavor, and full of cookie pieces to boot - it hit the spot on a hot summer afternoon. It's probably for the best that I don't want to regularly wait in a long line in a hot parking lot to get ice cream from Antney's. Well, it's good for my wallet and waistline at least - it's disappointing for my tastebuds. Hopefully though, I'll get lucky again before they close for the winter, and will once again drive by while the line is on the shorter side!

On a Sunday morning in July, I made a visit to Fig Tree Coffee for a coffee drink. I found myself…read morein the Crafton area, and wanted to visit a local shop. Fig Tree Coffee is a newer coffee shop located in Crafton, right by the elementary school. They serve hot coffee, iced coffee, espresso drinks, tea, chai, and more. In addition to drinks, there are some food options available, along with gift-type items. Directly in front of the building, there is street parking available. There is also a private lot located to the left of the entrance for the entire building. The signage in the windows identifying the business makes it easy to locate. Fig Tree is truly a community coffee shop. It has plenty of seating, and proudly displays pieces of the community it serves. They have a bulletin board with local businesses, community events, and other information. Patrons seem to get their items and utilize the space to hang out and socialize. It is nice to see a place like this being utilized as intended! I stopped here around 8:45 AM, and it was not too crowded. There were a few other patrons in the building and in line ahead of me, but I only had to wait a few minutes to order my drink. It can be sort of overwhelming to try and order here, since the menu is so bare and there are not a ton of "special" drinks advertised. However, the baristas and staff will make anything you really are wanting, so I would not worry about this! They have different flavorings and combinations, you just need to ask or make a combination that you want to try when ordering. The barista that helped me on this visit was lovely. I was not exactly sure what I wanted, so I asked what she typically would order or make for herself. She ended up making me that exact drink in a 16 OZ Iced Drink. I enjoyed getting to try something different that I would not have picked for myself! Service was quick. I was in and out with my coffee in about 7 minutes, and that included waiting in line and taking a minute to order. The prices here are reasonable, and in line with what other local coffee shops are charging for similar products. They do accept both cash and card here, just FYI. I did not purchase any food or pastries, but the coffee prices were right in line with expectations. The vibe of this place is very cool, with a true community cafe feel. I love that they highlight their community. Not only with the people and events, but they even with a wall of Polaroids of the dogs that visit the shop! I even had a dog in line in front of me, so they are dog-friendly here. I give Fig Tree Coffee a positive review, and do recommend giving the shop a try if you find yourself in Crafton or the West End. It is a newer shop, but already has great ambiance and community presence. The staff are friendly, drinks are tasty, it is dog-friendly, and it is a great space to hang out or get some work done. I look forward to future visits to Fig Tree when I find myself in the area.

The bar service was attentive and the server was very helpful! I was lucky to connect with the owner, Dave, while there that night, too.
