Hamburger cake on my holiday table.
    Angie C.

I'm a frequent customer here, for family occasions, if I need a special cake or some cupcakes for a holiday, if I need a cookie tray for a party, and pretty much anything in between. Their cakes are really special and creative. I recently bought a hamburger cake for a summer holiday, and a watermelon cake was available as another option. The cake is really moist and delicious, and the high-quality icing should be refrigerated, then brought out a little before youre ready to serve to bring it to room temperature. It is just dreamy in taste and texture, not overly sugary, just right. I really like the cookies here (Alfie French buttercreams are the standout), and often buy an assortment of these to take to get togethers. They have fancy frosted shortbread in different flavors that make for nice picnic desserts, or get a couple of their small bar tortes in different flavors to take to a dinner party. So many good options. I only recently discovered their breakfast pastries, and the cheese danish is so decadent, creamy and filled to the brim. The other day they had a special burnt almond torte donut that was so fresh, overstuffed and absolutely divine. I'm going to think of them for donuts more often. They've been here for over 20 years, near the Pleasant Hills Cloverleaf, in a little strip mall that includes Greek spot Gali's and a jewelry store. That success doesn't happen by accident. The staff is super helpful and anxious to make sure you get something you will be happy with; they also get through some pretty long weekend lines as efficiently as possible. The bakery is perhaps just a little more expensive than some other local bakeries, but I think the high quality of their ingredients shines through in the taste and makes them very worth a little splurge.

4.5 stars. Pastries A-La-Carte is a local, family-owned bakery that opened in 2004. It makes a wide variety of cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, nut rolls, tortes, pies, cookies, pastries, and more. Some baked goods are gluten-free. The bakery even offers a few CBD pastries. Many baked goods are available off-the-shelf, and customers may also special-order custom baked goods. Both pickup and delivery are available. So far, I have been a customer of Pastries A-La-Carte one time. During my visit, I saw a large assortment of pretty and tasty-looking baked goods. I bought two boxes that contained a chocolate-filled paczki, Georgia-peach cookie, lady lock, icing cookie, cherry-cheese pocket, pineapple upside-down cake, baklava, and strawberry cupcake. My family and I enjoyed all of them. Note: Pastries A-La-Carte plans to soon add coffee and gelato.

Pastries A La Cart is an adorable bakery in the South Hills. Serving delicious home made pastries, cakes, pies and more! They have items available to you when if you just walk in but also allow ordering! The staff is so friendly and patient- it is very overwhelming- in the best way- with all of the delicious sweet treats! They just opened an Espresso Bar!!! Delicious gourmet coffees available to order! They have a list of options plus a super fun seasonal menu! Can't wait to go back and get more coffee and treats!

The cookie trays are to die for! Soft, buttery and sweet. You can't just eat one! Highly recommend the grab and go trays to make someone's day!

Absolutely amazing spot and staff. We went to try their new coffee options and got our own sets of pastries. Love this place!!

The smells alone are worth a quick pop in. I went on St Patrick's day for a few office treats and I was not disappointed. Cute shamrock cut outs. Cupcakes (a huge hit with my coworkers) and they even sell cBD cookies. The service was great and the Irish music got everyone excited and not worried about the line. Not cheap but you get what u pay for.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's bday. Asked for a fourth wing dragons on it. The mess I got was ridiculous. I paid 75 dollars for this. I was upset and asked if they could scrape it and put balloons. When I got the cake home it was not centered on the bottom as you can see and the one side of the cake was smashed against the side. NOT a chance they didn't know what they did. What a disappointment. They did offer to send a 25 gift card for the dragon mess drawing. But what about the smashed ruined cake that I ended up with?

First, let me just start off by saying i am from New York City so my taste buds are top-tier. The decor of the store is beautiful and the people are so kind. I mean highly attentive and nice. But I spent $20 trying out different pastries and EVERY single one of them was absolutely disgusting. It just taste like sugar, literally just sugar. I tried four different cookies,.. all FAILED . How do you fail a chocolate chip cookie at a bakery, beats me. Then I tried some other cake I'm gonna include a picture and it was by far the most disgusting pastry- it pretty much tasted like sugar and nuts. Worst pastries I have probably tried in my life. I mean disgusting I would never go back. I'm just wondering what's up with the taste buds from people of Pittsburgh? I went online to see the reviews on Google and it just makes me concerned for the people of Pittsburgh. What kind of taste buds do you guys have? If this is considered anything greater than one star I'm lost. Good thing, I found someone on the streets to give all the pastries to, hopefully it didnt go to waste?

As a cookie fiend this is always my go to place. I've been going here since i was a kid, it's about 2 min from my house and they never disappoint. The brown butter blondie was the best thing ive ever eaten i still think about it. The staff is also always sweet!

My favorite bakery I've ever been to in the US. Unfortunately, I live out of state but always try to pop in when I'm in town. The signature cookies are to die for. Shop is clean and workers are pleasant and helpful. Service is fast.

Yummmoooo. Any place that said that they are the pastries of the penguins made me want to stop there. I had an appointment at a UPMC center that was down the street and so I saw this bakery on my way to the appointment. And I knew that I was going to stop there on the way back. It is a little bit further out of my way, I only know about it because I passed it, and I knew that if I didn't stop there I probably wouldn't ever be back that way. And I am happy that I did. Everything was beautiful inside. It took me a while to pick some stuff because they had so many things in their cases. But I got an array of cookies and pastries and different things to bring home. They had some frosted bear cookies that I knew that my daughter would love. It was bright pink icing and they looked super cute. And she ate it up so if you have kids those iced cookies are a hit. I will say that I ate a lot more of them in the car then I care to admit. But I did make sure that I did have some left over whenever I got home for my partner. I'm just thoughtful like that. If I'm ever out in the area again I will stop by. The treats were worth it

this looks nothing like the lush garden design that I requested and absolutely wrong colors

Now for some people this might not mean much, but for a shift worker, night owl, and coffee addict, this means the world to me! Let's face it, coffee never tastes as good as when it is made by someone else. The fact that Dunkin is practically always open is awesome for coffee lovers. I got the vanilla latte and it was really good, not too sweet and it kept me energized. I do like the vanilla cappuccino better though. I have gotten their iced coffees before and they are good too. My eyes landed on the fritatta rustica right away and I selected fruit as the side option. I ordered orange juice, as well. The dish looked appealing and came with some rectangle of hard bread (ciabatta toast) which i did not eat. The frittata containing kale, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, parmesan, and mozzarella looked good and was good. However, it wasn't the consistency I know of frittatas, having even made them. This one was flat, totally flat, as in flat like a slice of thin crust pizza. My experience with a frittata is more lush, higher, made in a spring pan. The price of the fritatta that came with toast and fruit and the side of orange juice was $18. Based on the higher than I would like price and the consistency of the frittata I'll give 4 instead of stars.
