The best massage I've had in Eugene, hands down. Grace was my masseuse. I knew within minutes of beginning my session that she was practiced and has a gift for massage in her hands. Grace talked with me about a shoulder problem that I have been experiencing. She listened to me. Not just nodded her head up and down but listened. On the other hand, Bianca's talents deserve to be spotlighted and then SHARED with my local peeps. I have been on a quest for a new hair stylist who can work wonders with my naturally curly out of control hair. Walking into Gervais was very relaxing and appreciated the offer for both hot tea and water while I waited for my stylist Bianca. I was whisked away down a hall to a magical oasis, also known as Bianca's chair. It was truly magical. She started with putting me at ease with a few deep cleaning breathes with an added neck and scalp massage with Stressfix oil. First time for this type of treatment while getting my haircut and I enjoyed it! She listened to my concerns and reviewed my photo I brought for inspo. This is when she started working her magic, shaping and managing my curls. The transformation was amazing and exactly what I wanted. A curly shag with movement and my curls danced with glee. I drove down here from Portland to get a full color and had my hair done by stylist Kaittie. I had explained to her what I had wanted, showed her various photos and she knew exactly what to do and helped me decide what was the right color that would bring out the best brightest look for me and what I was looking for. I am a brunette, and I wanted to go more red, a deep red that would shine in the light. When I got there to the salon I was greeted by everyone and they were so nice and welcoming. Kaittie got me settled in, talked me through everything, and I felt very comfortable with her. As she did the coloring, we talked, laughed, joked, and built a relationship which I trusted her and will go back to her. I hadn't dyed my hair in quite awhile so this was exciting for me. As the process went on, other employees of the salon walked around and complemented on how well it was looking, really gave off a great sense of encouragement to their employees that they were doing a good job. When the color was done and it was time to wash my hair, she was very gentle, made sure the water was comfortable temperature and just continued on with our conversations. After it was all done she took photos for her portfolio and for myself and I was very pleased, happy and impressed with her work. I loved it and will come back. Do you recommend this business... hahahaha ALWAYS!! Gervais is the go-to Salon in town for hair care, massages, facials, and just general pampering. Being met with tea or water when you walk in is so comforting. The stylists are all wonderful. I had one talk me out of coloring my grey mid-pandemic, I'm so glad she did! I'd been grey before grey was cool and mid-pandemic I was a bit stir crazy as were most of us. She calmly led me through what she could do and I finally settled on not changing anything outside myself. Can you ask for anything more from a stylist!?! She totally could have taken my and run. I had a facial here before the pandemic that left me as relaxed as a full-body massage. I've opted for a few 90 minute massage sessions and have been delighted each time. This salon is amazing. I dropped my loved one off for a haircut and curtain bangs. It's difficult to cut as she has wavy hair mixed with straight hair. The hair cut was perfect, straight across on the bottom with minimal texture of layers only to bring out the fullness of her hair. The bangs were perfect and I was just very impressed with how excited my kid was with her new look. She said she felt so pampered there and how nice everyone was. I love Lindy. IMO, changing hair stylists is right up there with changing OBs on my list of things I hate to do when I move to a different town. It's such a personal relationship and it takes time for you and your stylist to get to know each other and for them to understand what you like (and what you don't like). And, really, finding a stylist that you mesh well with is basically like playing a fatty game of roulette where you're reminded of the great/horrible bet you made every time you look in the mirror. The first time I saw Lindy was after I had gone to see another stylist at the 5th Street Gervais location who left me with a big 'hole' in my hairline. When I saw Lindy, she gave me a balayage and cut and, when she noticed the hole, immediately set to work on her own time to fix it as much as she could without sacrificing the length of my hair (I was trying to grow it out at the time). She did awesome. The salon has a good, clean vibe (especially important in the aftermath of COVID). Conversations are always great. She's real and genuine and really knows how to work those shears. Kelsey has been cutting my hair for awhile, to be fair my hair is really hard to cut. The first two times she did a great job, thinned/textured, handed me a mirror to look at the back and asked if I was happy. About the third or fourth time I had to make another appointment for her to fix the thickness and uneven hair cut, those things happen, I gave her more tries. This time was enough I will not go back to her. My hair is uneven and way to heavy on the sides, didn't hand me a mirror to look at the back. All she said was, ok your done and pull the cape off. OMG! Let me tell you my hair is crazy until I met Kelly Browne. She is AMAZING! It was so hard finding somebody in Eugene to cut hair. I had to go through so many catastrophe until I found Kelly. My hair is thick, fine to coarse depending on the day, long, & just a lot of it. Everytime I go to Gervais, Kelly treats the experience like I'm at a spa. I literally look forward to my haircut. I am offered a neck/shoulder massage before my cut. I seriously almost fall asleep it's so relaxing. I get a wash that is just a 360 massage under warm water. So Amazing. Bianca is the greatest stylist I've ever been to! I have had three cuts from her and have loved them every time. I thought the first one was the best haircut I've ever had, then thought the same with the second, and now the same with the third - somehow I love it more each time! She is amazing at listening to me ramble about what I want and repeating it back to me to confirm, as well as checking in throughout the haircut to make sure it's aligning with what I want. My natural wave pattern is kind of weird and Bianca is the only stylist that has ever given me a cut that looks fantastic styled or natural. Everyone that I've met at this salon is so kind and warm, and Bianca is so great to talk to and truly does amazing work. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner! Did a consultation with Kelsey (IG: kelseymcd_aveda) . Quoted me $245-290. Was not able to be seen until a month later. Before we started on my hair i asked if she wanted to see my inspo pic said no. She was suppose to highlight my hair, blend out my roots, tone my hair, and possibly give me a haircut. I couldn't wait for my appt to get by haircut so I took that service off. She only blended my roots and toned my hair and still charged me $225. when she was drying my hair I asked "are we not doing highlights today?" & she just said, "No." even tho that was not the plan and she said we could achieve what I wanted in one sitting because I already had lightened hair. Then I followed up with, "do I need to come in on another day??" & she said yes and I'll get you the pricing for that. I was so uncomfortable and upset. Still paid it and tipped. Then next day called because i totally got ripped of and she said it was a "miscommunication" even tho I told her I have DM's with pics of what I wanted and she did not deliver that. She even said, "I thought we said not to do that color because it wouldn't go with your skin tone." Definitely racist leaning comment. I could want green hair who is she to decide what I get. Then said, "so what do you want me to do???" Did not offer to fix it of her own customer service due diligence. Nor a refund. Was told I could be put on a cancellation list in case any appointments opened up. Also, this is 30 days before my wedding and she could not make time to fix her mistake. Good thing I have screenshots to show our conversation even tho she had blocked me on Instagram. tell me you're guilty without telling me you're guilty. don't go to her if you want to be gaslit into thinking it's your fault when you did communicate clearly and even spoke up about it in the moment. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE AT ALL. Especially to Kelsey. Amanda (level 2) did the absolute BEST job with my hair! I'm one of those people that's (sadly) not very knowledgeable about beauty topics so since I stopped being able to have girlfriends in college who would get inspired to chop off my hair, I haven't really known what to do with it. I just knew that it was getting heavy and hurting my head whenever I tied it up to get it out of the way so I wanted a cut that would be low maintenance, still make my round face not look like a bad dad selfie and maybe a fun, but professionally acceptable, color. I think what I really said was "I don't know what to do with this, can you please make it look nice without making my face look too large?" I'm not a salon person so I had no idea it would take literal hours but it breezed by because she is so kind, funny and thoughtful I'd actually go in just to hang out with her! She also took this ridiculous mop and turned it into something fun and bouncy, just in time for summer heat! I've gotten so many compliments about how healthy and shiny my hair looks (which I'm trying not to take personally...but they're seriously more numerous than the surprised ones I would get when I finally had to let my hair down at work because I'd get a headache). She also taught me how to maintain the color but respected that I didn't have the budget to come in for regular touchup sessions so we came up with a routine that would hold me over until the next time I could come in. It's definitely pricier than a free drunken girlfriend cut, but it was so worth the money and even when I wash my hair it's not bleeding everywhere like when I use a box dye! Ample parking in back of the salon via Oak Alley. Appointment started on time, and Megan was super friendly and did a great job taming my poofy/wavy hair and suggesting ways of styling it. Aveda salons always try to sell you on a conditioning treatment or buying the products they used so be aware of that, but there was no pressure here at all. read more

I have been here several times. The quality of salon services is very high. The reasons for only four stars: it doesn't have a relaxing, "day spa" vibe I've come to appreciate from high end salons. Staff are often loudly talking to each other if they don't have customers themselves. The new self check in is kind of chaotic, so you don't have the personal welcome and offer of tea that you used to. Finally, they recently raised their prices to give employees health care (and mandated paid sick leave) which is commendable, but that means I'm likely to tip less knowing that my service provider is not only receiving a living wage, but also benefits. I'm offended that the suggested tips remain at 15, 20, and 25 percent. If you're going to tip 25% on a hair service that is so expensive to start with, you're likely to know how to calculate that yourself. You raised the prices to provide more employee benefits, so expect customers to tip for excellence, not to make sure our stylist can afford to live. read more

The salon is beautiful, nice and clean and pleasant to walk into. Everyone working there is kind and helpful. The care I receive at every visit is top-notch with everyone being warm and welcoming. Okay, so I am in tears. In a good way :) I am 68 1/2 years old and just came home after an amazing appointment with Kelly Browne. Please understand that I have clung to my grey braid for YEARS! I had a wild hair to cut my hair and I met with Kelly yesterday in order to see who I was putting in charge of my valued locks. I completely was blown away and reassured by her professionalism, her vast experience with Aveda, AND even though she looked like she was 18 years old (she is NOT)---i chose to have her "do" me. My experience was magical and therapeutic. She even came up with a great idea for a fun color addition that I went for!
