I've been going here for almost 6 years now and no words can describe how wonderful it is! Renee is the one that has always done my hair but everyone who works there treats you like their very own client. I've seen many people come in from a bad day discouraged and stressed but leave refreshed and happy after a simple talk to any of the hair dressers (specific shout out to Tully). There's something about the place that's very special - and it truly is the workers. The facility is clean, ventilated pretty well, and cozy! Onto raving about Renee - I can guarantee you that you will not find a more kind hearted, detail oriented, down to earth and attentive hair dresser in Eugene. She really tries to learn your hair history and discover exactly what you want (cut or color). She always explains her process so there's no question whilst creating the most welcoming and comfortable environment! She understands the color wheel and balance of hair dye better than any dresser I've ever had, and she has worked wonder with my difficult Asian hair. Ok, I was just visiting the US again and was in Eugene and I needed help for my summer damaged hair. I decided to call up Renee because I knew she could make my hair beautiful again. She developed her own conditioning 'cocktail' and applied that to my dry hair. Then she did another beautiful color application. I'm not sure what line she uses for color but it makes my hair so moisturized and shiny. It's much nicer than what I'm used to in Amsterdam. I also really enjoy talking to Renee. She's very sweet. She sold me a chia seed leave-in conditioner that I've been using the past several weeks since I got home to Amsterdam and it's perfect for the humid climate here. My hair looks beautiful since I visited Renee. if I lived in Eugene, she'd be my regular stylist! She even let me bring my dog Mirabelle to the salon, just like I do in Amsterdam. I found Katherine, the owner, years and years ago when she worked at a salon that was located under my law firm office downtown. I had a very unfortunate haircut that needed help, pronto. She's been my stylist for almost a decade now. Katherine gives great cuts, and she is amazing with color. Crap, I just gave myself away to all of Yelp. She knows that I have a both busy and lazy, so she always keeps in mind exactly how the color and cut will grow out - it's usually a graceful transition between appointments. Located on the backside of a laundry mat & in an alley, Lotus looks a little ghetto from the outside, but the inside is comfortable & super cute! A small place (only a few chairs), but I was able to schedule an appointment with Tully quickly (even despite it being graduation week). I paid $40 for a wash, cut, & style plus some great conversation. Tully was awesome! I will definitely be back to see him again. My only complaint: they don't take cards. Just got my haircut by Nikki at Lotus and she did a fantastic job! A lot of stylist rush through a men's haircut, but not Nikki. She really took her time and made sure she did a good job. I had an amazing time with Nikki at Lotus. This place is tucked away behind a laundry mat but when you step inside it's like being in a mini day spa! Nikki listened to what I wanted to do with my hair, talked to me about how I usually style it and then talked me through what she thought would look good....and IT DID!!! Her deep conditioning treatment has my hair feeling healthy and soft even now (five days later)! It was so fun talking with her and I felt completely comfortable the whole time. Nikki was also great about getting me out on time, I usually get stuck in salons talking away but I mentioned I needed to be gone by a certain time and she had me out and looking great!! Lotus is a great little salon at a convenient location, especially to students. Frances has been doing my hair (color, cut and extensions) for years and she is the best! It's not often you find a stylist that can constantly upkeep a blonde color without looking brassy or fake. The salon is always clean inside and they use top, high-end hair products. read more

I've been going to Katherine since I moved to the Eugene area a little over a year ago. She was recommended to me by a coworker, and I am forever thankful for that rec! Before going to Katherine, I had gotten into the bad habit of keeping my 'summer' blonde year round, which was so damaging to my hair. I was starting to notice the processing had really taken its toll, and I decided I wanted to transition back towards my natural, darker blonde hair color. Katherine did an AMAZING job. Not only is she an excellent listener, she uses her own experience and comes up with a gameplan on the best way to achieve the look I want with minimizing and even reversing the damage of years of highlights and bleach. I just turned 30 and didn't want my hair to age before its time. I should also mention she is incredibly fun and sweet! She took on the challenge of my hair but somehow made it seem fun and worry-free! Katherine brought my hair color back to a natural-looking sun-kissed blonde, and restored my hair to its former glory days of my early twenties. She's also very accommodating when it comes to scheduling clients. As a blonde, I'm normally a little timid when going to a new stylist as b/c bad color-jobs on blondes tend to stand out more (in my opinion!) I had my hair done by Renee, and she did the best job on my hair EVER, including my many years getting my hair done by fancy salons in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nikki cut my hair and it is probably the first hair cut in years that I walked out loving. She was super fun, super personable, and really knows what she is doing. I had a lot of fun talking with her, and I will definitely be going back to her. I loved the warm atmosphere of Lotus, and all of the friendly personalities. Nikki books up fast, so call her as soon as you can! The only complaint I would have is that they don't take cards.
