I had previously left a lower review on the basis that I suspected damage from the service but in hindsight, while the damage wasn't present when I bought the car it's entirely possible that Gerry's wasn't responsible and they tried to reach out to rectify the situation. I didn't end up contacting them but hey, it's a Subaru and the part was $20 so no harm no foul and no reason to ding Gerry's over an unfounded suspicion. As I said before the service was carried out in a timely manner and for a great price, and I'll absolutely be returning to them for rotations and future tire purchase and installation so based entirely on the service I've updated the review to reflect my experience with them. read more

My Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) light came on. I'm from Houston and use to going to Discount Tires (DT) to address. But ooooof course, there are no DTs in Maryland so I turned to Yelp! I came across this business via Yelp and was impressed by the reviews. It's pretty close to my residence so I woke up early to get my TPMS addressed! Staff was helpful and I was able to pull right in and get my tires inflated. Thank goodness, there was no leaks and just truly air pressure. There have been times a last minute issue on my car popped up and I needed a close place to check on it. The most recent one was low air pressure in one tire that I had put air in recently and figured there was something wrong with it. Gerry's Tires was able to let me walk in (I called first to make sure they could see me) and address my issue. There was a nail in the tire that they patched up. Sadly won't be able to take my car back here. They've always been up front with pricing and not tried to take advantage in the past, have been using their services for a few years for bigger jobs and they're always really courteous and easy to work with. Decided to trust them on a simple oil change, they called to say I needed rear brake pads and rotors replaced and air filters. I knew they were right about the brake pads, and I usually change my own air filters but since I already had the car there I figured I'd trust them to do such a simple job and just ok'd the entire estimate number over the phone. He said he could only give me the total number. Definitely my fault that I didn't ask how much labor it takes to replace air filters but I know from experience it's a 5 minute job. I went to pick up the car and there was a $102.28 labor charge to replace the air filters. This is strictly labor, not parts. I called to confirm today and they told me it is .3 hours for one filter and .4 for the other. I admit this is on me for not even asking, but hopefully I can help someone avoid making the same mistake. All the other service they've done has been great, but to charge more than a dealership to replace air filters is just silly and obviously a money grab. read more

I cannot imagine a better experience at a tire shop. I have a difficult to find tire (21") and they were able to find the tire within a few minutes and had it there the same day. When I called the next morning to schedule installation, they had me bring it in right then and I was in and out in 25 minutes. Though the service was spectacular, the personal compassion is what really put them over the top for me. I had my autistic son with me while I was waiting (silly but had no other choice). This has been our go to place since moving to baltimore. I got referred by my colleague who referred this place because he felt the people are honest. My wife and i have gotten multiple things repaired here from tire changes, oil changes, to vapor canister. I still remember my car was making a noise and i brought it in the shop and they looked at it and tightened one of the screws without charge. My boyfriend went to Gerry's for years. He raved about them. I went there for a few things and they had great service. But I was inspired to write a review today because of the amazing service I received this morning. I recently moved to NC and I was driving back last night to Baltimore during heavy rains. My windshield wiper broke in the middle of my drive. Early this am, I called and Gerry's was able to get me in first thing, knowing I was only in town over the weekend. They fixed my wiper blades and fixed 2 other issues that I needed fixing but didn't ask for since they were so kind to see me so last minute. These guys are great!! read more

I can't speak for all of their employees, but the guy that handled my car was awesome. I was grumpy AF the morning I had to bring my car in. She had undergone 2 inspections in as many months and all of the sudden the maintenance light came on. Stressing over this plus other things on my plate made me a less than pleasant customer to deal with. Just one of those days where you can't reign in your bad mood no matter how hard you try. The guy that helped me didn't waiver at my sh*tty attitude and continued to be pleasant throughout the process. It turned out that the last place to change my oil didn't bother to reset the oil life monitor, hence the angry yellow light. He reset it free of charge (given my overall demeanor that morning, he could have very well made me pay a fee... and I wouldn't blame him) and alerted me to some other issues that may be looming in the next year that I should keep an eye on. Coming out of my shift at the hospital I notice my tire pressure light is on. I stopped by Gerry's - they quickly accommodated me, added more air on the rear passenger tire and visually check for any punctures. The gentlemen also checked the pressure on all my tires. He said if it comes on again to drop by and he will seal or patch the problem tire. I was there in less then 10 minutes and wouldn't let me pay. The gentleman that works the front desk is always welcoming and friendly at 6am! They're very helpful and give you options and thorough information for your tires. Prices are reasonable- I usually pay around $400 for all four tires, which I know can be cheaper elsewhere, but you pay for quality ‍ On top of that, if you end up having to wait at the shop, they have a nice reception area with a keurig and some snacks and shop swag like lotion and pens. Gerry's saved our car! Imagine a 15 year old Toyota that's been rattling around town, a ton of things to fix (check engine light always on? Window not working? And so much more), and you go to a dealership where they give you an estimate that says it will cost you approximately $2000 to fix. I ain't got no money like that! We used instead Gerry's based off of reviews-they're so nice they ask you for what the goal is for fixing the car (for longevity? To sell?), and they fixed everything that was dangerous...for approximately $900. That itself was wonderful, saving $1000, but the fact that they fixed everything in one day was amazing. We had a lot to get done on our car and it was ready the same day. My Boo came to pick me up from work in the car and I had to ask him if we had just gotten a Tesla because it was so quiet. If you're in the Baltimore area with car issues, Gerry's is the place to take your car! I was visiting Baltimore from Toronto this past weekend and an issue with my car started happening where something began pushing up against the driver side floor as the tire rotated the night before I was about to drive 8 hours back home. It was late at night when the issue started so I knew I had to take it somewhere the next day. I was worried that it would delay my trip home as I had planned on leaving early to get home in time for work. I googled tire repair shops, and decided to try Gerry's first as it had the best reviews out of all of them and opened up the earliest. I got there as soon as they opened at 6am hoping they could take a look at my car at some point that day. I explained my dilemma to Gerry and he told me he'd have me out of there by 7:30am (I ended up out of there around 6:50am). They looked at my car pretty much right away. After they looked at it, they did not notice the issue occurring and asked me to take a drive with one of the employees there after my original tire had been put back on to confirm the issue wasn't occurring anymore. Whatever the issue was, it was no longer occurring with my original tire back on. They assured me that they looked over the car and found nothing to be concerned about for my long trip home. Sure enough, I made it home last night with no issues and wanted to come on here to leave Gerry's a much deserved 5-star review. Even though the issue with my car wasn't happening anymore by the time they looked at it, I had offered to pay Gerry and his staff for their time as I appreciated them taking my car in right away and looking it over to ensure I could get home safe. Gerry insisted not to pay him which speaks volumes about him and his shop. There are a lot of dishonest repair shops that try to take advantage of people in vulnerable car problem situations. It's refreshing to know that there are shops like Gerry's out there that genuinely want to help you out with your car issues and don't try to milk you for every penny you have.
