Just had my first service appointment with this garage and will 100% be back as a return customer! If you live near the park, the location (for both the garage and the attached gas station) is phenomenal. They do very good business so they're frequently booked up-- make an appointment if possible, they take preference over walk-ins. I called on a Wednesday morning to see when I could get in, and the earliest appointment they had was Friday. I needed an oil change, my tires inspected, and for them to check on an issue with my AC. You fill out a detailed service form inside the Shell station and the cashier, who is also a garage employee, takes care of it from there. When the mechanic called to give me his report, he followed my instructions to proceed with the oil change but get my permission for any other work needed. He told me my tires were in good condition (and didn't try to upsell me to make a buck). With the roads in Bmore being what they are, it would have been really easy to try that card (which some untrustworthy mechanics do more so with women), but this guy was honest with me and I respect that. He also said that my AC issue wasn't a problem that required any work and might just come and go, though harmless-- so again, saving me cash. The whole process was very efficient and reasonable priced, and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend! read more

Kristy showed terrible customer service at the front desk in the shop. I went to pick up my vehicle after having it serviced and she made wait several minutes while she took her time stocking the store's shelves in front of me. I said "hi" to get her to acknowledge me - no response. Once she was done stocking, she went behind the counter and stared at me without a word until I eventually told her that I was here to pick up my vehicle. Other than that, the service of the vehicle itself was fine and completed in a timely manner. I was updated by the mechanic throughout the way. As other reviewers mentioned, if you want to avoid high labor costs, I recommend checking out the local small business down the road. read more

Full of rude people, my girlfriend stopped there to change her tire and they yelled at her and told her she had to do it in street.

I went requesting and oil change, they sent me a quote with over $600 of items needing repaired, many of which had been recently worked on. All in all, they did way more work than requested and I payed over 300 for labor for services I declined. Will not be going back and would recommend being very careful when you look at or agree to their quote. read more

I took my car in, gave them the error code and they called me later saying the total would be $1800. Included in that $1800 was $240 for them to verify the error code. They were going to charge $500 just for the part and another $200+ to install, i went to a dealership and the total for the part and installation was $540. They said the air filters (that had been replaced four days earlier) needed to be replaced, the spark plugs all needed to be replaced, and a tail light needed to be replaced. None of those things needed to be done. The one thing I can say positively is that they were not going to charge an insane amount for the battery if I had them replace that. They were however going to charge $75 for the test and replace of it. Advance Auto Parts does that free. read more

Jason really came through, he got my rim sent out for repair and had my car back to me within 24 hours. No surprise charges, and the price was a great value. read more

Took my car in for state inspection. Got the job done well for a reasonable price, thank you!

Couldn't get gas apparently my cash wasn't good enough said card only, then was obnoxiously telling me good luck after I asked "i can't get gas?" Unprofessional and rude, just drive the extra mile for royal farms and don't deal with this place read more

Great experience here. I moved to the area less than a year ago and chose this garage for convenience. I took my car here for state inspection and recently for service. The staff is communicative and friendly. I felt like I was in good hands! Strongly recommend to anyone moving to Canton/Fells and in need of a local mechanic. read more

Jason came through and arranged for my rim to be outsourced for repair. I got my car back in 24 hours. No surprise with the cost which was a great value. read more

Quick and easy for tire plug on a random afternoon. Thankful to have them in the neighborhood. Thanks Jason!

My car was fixed timely and accurately manner. I was given a fair estimate before a service decision was made.

I had a front end alignment done there and tires rotated, also oil change. Great prices, the work was done in a timely matter. Communication was excellent, I strongly recommend, keep an eye on your email cuz that's mostly how they communicate and the garage hours are different from the gas station read more

Wildly 8nconsistent on repairs like tires. One guy checks to see if he has a used tire, and will allow the rim to be dropped off. The next guy tells me I have to bring the car in and leave it, then hangs up. Go somewhere ejse you can do better. read more

I'm Their Neighbor! Not Only were they RUDE ABOUT IT, But I Can't believe I live 1 block away from these guys and asked for some air and maybe a plug so I could get to work and instead of helping me so I could get to work, they said I'd have to leave my car ALL DAY. I have NEVER Been turned away for a flat tire since it takes 5-10 mins to pump some air and plug a tire. I'm usually charged $20 and on my way at ANY SHOP ANYWHERE but they LITERALLY TURNED ME AWAY in the Ice and Snow!! SHOCKINGLY LOW INTEGRITY OR CARE! Wow! NOT RELIABLE! read more

I recently moved to Baltimore from Chicago, and have been bringing my Jeep here regularly to be serviced. The service is great, and I always receive status updates throughout the day. Most recently, I had my Jeep check for a road trip, and needed it back quickly as I was leaving over the weekend on a trip. I was provided with five start service and they delivered! Will continue to bring my vehicle here, and highly recommend read more

friends recommended this place but my service experience was very poor. Have dropped off several times with the expectation they would get to my vehicle on the same day only to find out they can't get to it- so not good for someone that can't leave their car at the garage for several days Even for simple service like oil changes. Also had brakes and rotors done- must have rushed the job because parts were installed backwards. took it back one week later because brakes were squeaking and they looked at it and said brakes were fine. Now spent several hundred dollars at another mechanic to get new rotors after a month because they Nicholas' Shell put brakes on backwards. Would not recommend! read more

Great job diagnosing my vehicle good communication, friendly & fair price. I can rest easy knowing they got my back! So happy with the team at Nicholas Fleet Street Shell read more

I have been here a few times over the years and it is always a great experience. This time it was a state inspection and there weren't any issues, so it was pretty simple. I was able to drop off the car in a wide window to make it easy for my schedule. They contacted me when the car was ready (same day) and then I picked it up around 8pm. The prices are reasonable and the staff memebers are nice and professional. read more

Since this place was so great at getting my old van passed for state inspection, I been taking it here (and sometimes to Gerry's Tire on Central) for repairs. Neither place gives me warm service like my former mechanics in NY or my sometimes mechanic in Saint Louis (MO) but, oh well. One thing that this place absolutely does not do well is keep the customer updated on repairs (getting estimates and how quickly the work will be done). One time, I realized it was getting late in the day and I hadn't heard from them so I call and the lady who answered the phone told me all the mechanics had already left for the day!!! Luckily, it wasn't a Friday... The owner apologized later, but still. This past Friday, I realized it was getting late in the day and I hadn't heard from them so I call and the dude who answered the phone told me they hadn't worked up an estimate yet but that the vehicle needed to stay over the weekend! Today, Monday, I call (because it's getting late in the morning and I hadn't heard anything...) and the dude says they were going to work up an estimate IN THE AFTERNOON. Oh, and likely, the work won't even start until the next day. (But, who really knows, right?) I'm lucky to be able to rent a vehicle so I CAN GET TO WORK but the lack of any sense of expeditiousness by this service station is head scratching. I see Paul (I think that's his name and I think he's the owner) every once in a while when I'm gassing up and he remembers me and says hello, but GeeZ! read more

Bill and his crew are wonderful. I brought my 2002 Mercedes in because I heard noise in the front end, I was convinced it was rotors or ball joints and a bill in the thousands. Bill called the next day telling me it was just worn out front brake pads...347.00. He fixed it quickly and had me on the road the next day before the snow, he was genuinely concerned that I got home safely. Thank you Bill! Steve Appel read more

Bill and his crew are excellent mechanics and will go out of their way to make their clientele happy.

Only recommend coming here if you're down and out of luck. Charged me $160 just to tell me to take it to a transmission shop. Surely it doesn't take much time or effort to hook the car to a diagnostic scanner and read the code to tell me this. I've taken my car here a time or two before and it was decent, but now I never want to go back. read more

This is one of the best auto services in town. Fast. Intelligent. Gracious. Sanely priced. They installed a new wiper motor that had died. It was half the price of the first estimate I received and was done in a day. Dropped off. Picked up. Done. Excellent. read more

The service team is great! I happened to drop off my problematic Audi many times at the last minute with some weird problem, and they always manged to fix it in a fast and honest way. Way better than those thieves at the Audi Dealer (bad review will follow for them). If possible, it's better to book for service. Sometimes they get a little busy with work. read more

We are on a road trip to NY and had some weird car trouble. Found these guys on Google and they came through. Thank God for good and knowledgeable people. Thank you thank you thank you! Cannot recommend them enough. We will bring you back some goodies from NYC on our way back down. read more

Do not come here! Extortion! Rip off! Unfriendly! Gas station: Consistently charges 20 cents more than other local gas stations. They do this because it's the only gas station in a one mile radius in Canton. Take the drive and go to royal farms by the highway. Auto service: Shady shady! Do not get service or an inspection here. They will always find something wrong, and then mark-up the price by at least 60%. I came to get a serpantine belt replaced. Upon reviewing the internet and other local shops, the average cost was about $60-$110. Nicholas charged $250. I was like um, that's not what your competitors charged. He said he only uses "premium" parts and that the labor charges were based on book values. Ok the parts cost $20. So that's $230 in labor for a one hour job. Are you kidding me? He insisted he was not trying to screw me over. My empty wallet begs to differ read more

I never write reviews - but the service at Fleet Street Shell really has forced my hand. My car was having an intermittent check engine light, but was driving fine. Unfortunately, I had an up coming emissions test, so I took it to this service station to get it checked out (since it is very close to my house). These guys charged me $144 just to take a look at my car (which wouldn't get counted in repairs). After waiting 4 days for them to finally take a look at it, they told me that compression in one of my cylinders was low -- the only solution a complete engine overhaul (the guy on the phone told me that it would be at least $2,000+). No thank you. I took it to another shop which I trust (but is much farther away). Turns out there wasn't anything wrong with the compression. The guys at the other shop fixed my car for a total of $250 (their fee to examine it counted towards the repair). These mechanics are charlatans of the worst kind. I won't even be patronizing them to get gas anymore. read more

Great service, so convenient to drop off and pick up after work. Reasonable prices. Over 175K on my car and still rides great

Has forever lost my business. Will not take ownership for essentially destroying my car. Turned my car in for a state inspection and they returned it with a cracked exhaust pipe that was not there beforehand. Will not accept fault and claims they knew nothing. A Undrivable car was returned to me. read more

Took my car there on an appointment on Friday morning for second opinion. I had to call twice on Friday to ask what they have found and when is it gonna be fixed. The communication is way off in this place. Closing time they told me it's the MAFS which is a 20 min job to change or clean. I asked them to clean it first to see if that solves the problem. They said they can do it on Monday but will call me if it doesn't work and need to be changed. Monday I have called 2 times during the day to find out if the cleaning worked or not or need to be changed etc.. at 1:30 they didn't look at it yet. 30 min before closing time I got a call that they cleaned it and I can pick up my car ( 100$) so I went to pick it up asked the guy if it's working now fine he said yes. Turned on car and it's doing the same thing before not fixed. Was never offered an option to get the sensor changed but I can't imagine how long it would take to do that if a 10 Min cleaning took 2 full days. It felt like they just want the car to be gone and the 100$ for something is not even fixed... I would not take my car back there... I can't trust that it was even cleaned since the guy said non-chalantly it's working. He never walked to the car with me to make sure it is ok..... read more

I actually haven't been here in a couple of years since I moved out of state, but I'd recommend this place to anyone. My car was on the fritz, they were honest with me when giving me the quote for repair - suggested I put that money towards a new car. Didn't have that money regardless. Got a call back about an hour later letting me know they could Jerry-rig the issue around the heater (that needed replacing) for $100. Gave me enough time to buy a new car before winter read more

Absolutely horrible service. Location is nice but not nice enough to warrant the utter lack of awareness for how poorly they treat their customers. read more

Great place to get your car fixed! Courteous, timely, honest, professional. I am new to the area and they gave me fair, competitive prices for a variety of services. Dropped my car off without an appointment and got three things fixed within 24 hours. Would recommend! read more

$36 to mount and balance a tire. My old shop charged $17. Even the large corporate places charge around $20. I like supporting my local businesses, but no need to waste my money. I'll be recommending my old shop from here on. read more

I made an appointment to have my gas gauge fixed (it doesn't accurately track the fuel level and his caused my check engine light to come off and on). I dropped my car off on time, but heard nothing all day. I finally called right before closing to check-in and was told they didn't have the parts and needed to keep my car for another two days. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have called to tell me that considering most people rely on a vehicle to get to and from work. Anyhow, they call two days letter to tell me the right and left fuel senders have been replaced and that my car is ready. I pick up my car and fill my fuel tank, yet the gas gauge doesn't move. At this point I was leaving on a road trip for the holidays and didnt have time to bring it back in (yes, in a car with a broken fuel gauge... fun). The gauge didn't accurately record fuel levels for the entire trip and I had to rely on my odometer. When I returned home and called the shop I was I told "we fixed the problem and the check engine light is off now". They didn't fix the problem. I wanted a fuel gauge that works. I paid them more than $600 and expected a working fuel gauge. I didn't pay them $600 to turn the check engine light off. In addition, the woman that works inside the station clearly hates her job. She is the rudest person working in customer service that I have ever come across. read more

The location is super convenient for canton residents. That being said, that is the only positive aspect of Nicholas's on fleet. The auto shop led by Nicholas is average at best. Pros: Location 3 mechanics who seem to know their way around a car Open flexible hours Cons: Price. They know they have a market share in Canton and really up -charge on gas and services. I tried to have a window repaired. Most auto body shops were chargning $200 to repair a motor. They charged $400. When I showed them estimates from other shops, his response, "sorry, that's what you get!" Great. Payment. They prefer cash. When I tried to use a credit card, he rolled his eyes. When I tried to split on 2 cards , the lady at the counter laughed. Bottom line: if you want to go to nicholas's, be my guest. You can't be the location. But if you want to get riped off. don't go! read more
