Absolutely love the outdoor patio area it's beautiful! Comfortable dining area, lots to enjoy and experience and our service was excellent. Very friendly and pleasant staff. However what I ordered wasn't the best. Traditional breakfast two eggs scrambled, hash browns, and two strips of bacon were subpar. Hash browns although plentiful were greasy and needed seasonings, eggs kinda tasted like they had just cooked some fish on the same grill, and the bacon served cold need salt for flavor. My wife enjoyed her chicken and waffle sandwich but it was served with cold fries. This was a bicycle ride stop so keeping our bikes next to us was perfect.

Don't let the low reviews fool you. I think people are under the impression that will be waited on while you are there. You order inside and wait for your food. The food is excellent!! Everything we got was super tasty. The outdoor seating area is in a beautiful courtyard.

Small, clean well appointed restaraunt. Spice mixes are bold, slightly unusual fusion blends that delight. Presentation was artistic and enjoyable unique. The ultimate benedict and the spaghetti were wonderful suprises on our last night in Tucson.

We love the shakshuka scrambled eggs and everything else we've tried. Nice outdoor patio too.

Strange little restaurant in Tucson near the university. It's in Main Gate Square but tucked away in a courtyard. Service was terribly slow, but maybe they just had a bad day. They have an interesting breakfast menu and decent coffee. I had the Ultimate Benedict, which is an unusual eggs benny with sausage patty, spinach, and mushroom. It had a gorgeous presentation except for the weird kebab garnish. But it was oddly flavorless in spite of a nice (not Hollandaise) sauce. The mushrooms were canned, not fresh, which is a cardinal sin. From what I can tell there's not another diner for weekday early morning eggs in the vicinity, so I'll definitely go back. Next time I'll just get a simple breakfast, which seems safer. Nice vibe inside and wonderful patio and courtyard area. Will eat outside next time as well.

Great food...so many different choices.. quality food and preparation... portions were larger than expected..we only had breakfast but would come back for any meal..

Full of flavors! Different take on a hamburger that is absolutely delicious and so filling!

For breakfast, my wife and I ordered a bacon omelet, French toast, and French toast sticks. The French toast was covered in eggs, with no seasoning or flavor. The hash browns were undercooked and drenched in oil.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and was looking for a sit down breakfast place. Location was convenient and located in this pod of bungalow style house/store fronts on University. Staff was super friendly to my daughter and me. No one else was there but we got there super early for a Sunday breakfast. The previous comments/ratings made me a bit weary but we gave it a shot. Nothing super fancy, my daughter had eggs, hash brown, and bacon, while I had the Nutella crepe. She enjoyed her breakfast but she's not hard to please with simple items. The coffee had what I thought was a weird spice after taste. I wish I could rate the food better, maybe it's better for lunch.... My crepes looked yummy but the crepe part itself was on the softer consistency which I couldn't get over. Again nice service though!

I had to toast my eggos which they call Belgian waffles.

Owners changed and now the food is awful. The cook literally can't even cook an egg and the owner is very rude. I'm dissapointed

There's a separate building you can buy local retail, as well as a café where I ordered a dirty Horchata (not realizing it had coffee lol), a sandwich with fries, and one of the baked desserts (a brownie with something I can't remember lol). All the food was great. As a french fry lover, I have to say that the fries were fantastic! Once you order, you're able to find a place to sit, and the food is brought to you. I would def return!

I also love that the menu strives to be locally sourced. The food is very fresh! The service from the counter is fairly fast, which was especially great for us, as we were short on time. This time ordered the Simply Eggy Breakfast. The marmalade was unique and the eggs were perfectly poached. The portions are standard, so there will likely be no leftovers. For the portions though, I would say the price is a little on the higher end. To finish my friend got a tahini brownie on the way out and we found it to be very pleasant and not overly sweet. I would love to try their coffees and teas!

This is…read moreone of their two Tucson locations--the Campbell Avenue spot, with the other on Grant Road. It's a very casual place staffed by kind and welcoming students, and the food is genuinely good. The Smoked Salmon Beni stood out in the reviews, and it did not disappoint when I finally got to try it. I'll be attaching a photo, but it tasted every bit as good as it looked. I also noticed the shaved steak sandwich on the menu and in several Yelp photos, so I'll definitely have to come back and try that next. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and overall character of the place.

These Pastries Should Probably Be Illegal…read more Prep & Pastry has been serving Tucson since 2014, and after eating here, I completely understand why they've built such a loyal following. This review is only about the pastries because the rest of their menu deserves an entirely separate review. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light and airy everything was. Every bite felt fresh, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, and nothing tasted heavy or overwhelming. As I've gotten older, I've become much more conscious about what I eat. Surprisingly, these pastries never leave me with that "I shouldn't have done that" feeling. They're indulgent without being excessive. Now let's address the real issue... I always buy two. Not because I'm planning ahead. Because I know exactly what's going to happen if I don't. I'll eat one in the parking lot, sit there for a minute pretending I'm satisfied, then make what is almost certainly an illegal U-turn and head back inside for another. At this point, I believe the owners should stand trial in a savory Food Court of Law. Dun... Dun... "In the Criminal Food Justice System, pastry-based crimes are considered especially delicious. In Tucson, the dedicated foodies who investigate these sugary felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Pastry Unit. These are their stories." Prep & Pastry is guilty of making "I'll just have one" the biggest lie you'll tell yourself all week. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or simply because life is better with a great pastry, this place delivers. WIT Inspection Score: -- Truly Among the Best.

I wouldn't say that it is top of the line cooking, but it is very delicious and definitely worth a visit this side of town. Parking can be a little challenging, they do share a parking lot with other businesses, but close in, there are not that many spots. Service is always friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Interesting atmosphere with flamingos galore and other things decorating the inside. Gives it somewhat of a party and fun feel. Food comes out in a timely manner even when they are very busy. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Teaspoon is one of the best overall restaurants in Tucson…read more I've been here a few times over the last year or so. It has never disappointed in service, quality or taste. (well once in taste, but I'll get to that) They have great in-house made items. Like the Challa bread, the preserves, their pesto. They most certainly know what they're doing. I had unseasoned filet mignon once, I believe it was the omelette. I talked to the manager. Now I wasnt upset, didn't send it back, I just told them what I experienced and mused that I found it odd the cook forgot a simple thing like salt. The manager acknowledged my complaint and that was all; or at least I was fine. Nope, she came back with a to-go box of croissants topped with cream and berries as an apology. They were tremendous by the way. She didn't have to do that. The ambiance is it's only weak point, but even that is minor. Simple black is fine. It's modern feeling and doesn't stand out loudly. They have outdoor seating, which early in the morning is fine, but id avoid in the summer, which will likely mean you'll be waiting, depending on the time. Oh! I forgot to mention, they have very good drinks. They really are intentional about the blend of flavors, they have a little something for everyone. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's been a shining star amongst Tucson restaurants and I am grateful they exist. Even to how they organize their menu partly by flavor profiles shows they genuinely LOVE food. One thing that stood out during that first visit was the hostess. Since the restaurant is located inside a hotel and can be a little difficult to find, I expected a more welcoming introduction or at least some confirmation that we were in the right place. Instead, the interaction felt a bit awkward and impersonal. We returned a few weeks later (07/12/26) and happened to be greeted by the same hostess. Unfortunately, the experience was very similar. She asked how many people were in our party, I said two, and then she simply looked at her computer without saying much else. Another employee eventually came over and escorted us to our table. Throughout both visits, she never came across as particularly friendly or welcoming. As the first person guests interact with, I think a hostess sets the tone for the entire experience, so this was disappointing. On a more positive note, our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout the meal. The service once we were seated was definitely better than the initial impression. As for the food, it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything special, especially considering the price. Overall, it felt pretty average for what we paid. The ambiance was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was okay, but between the lack of hospitality at the front and the food being average for the price, I'm not sure I would go out of my way to come back.
