This is the best barbecue restaurant in Wichita!!!!!! The service is great and the food is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! On Sundays they have a Soul Food Sunday... smothered pork chops, short ribs and rice...collard greens, Black Eyed Peas, cabbage, fried potatoes, and onions, chicken and dressing, desserts, they even have Shasta Tiki punch!!! Their Sunday menu changes somewhat, but they always have baked chicken and stuffing and the barbecue options. This place is the best! [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Sundays while you wait on your food, there is gospel music playing in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is also an option to call ahead on either the day before or that morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is a carryout restaurant, there is no seating inside, however, there IS limited seating outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On Sunday be prepared to wait, but the wait is WELL WORTH IT! Portions are GENEROUS!

Aniyah and Jodie was so amazing to us. The sides were SOOOOOO good. They also made sure that my boyfriend's religious preferences were taken care of so well. Took gloves off and brand new knifes and making sure no cross contamination. We appreciate that so much! Thank you so much we will be returning!!! On a college visit to Wichita State for my daughter from OK. Googled local BBQ to hit up before we headed back home today. Found Georgio's BBQ and so very happy we did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two stick burners going in the parking lot was a good sign and we pulled into a parking spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lucked out on a "Soulful Sunday" with oxtails. Got there about 1:30pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was packed with church goers waiting on their carry out orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Folks were very friendly and could tell we weren't local. Had several of them assure us we were in the right place for some awesome BBQ. I'm always looking for life changing BBQ and good lord, it was a heavenly experience and divine appointment finding Georgio's this afternoon. Sampled brisket, smoked turkey and bologna by the pound. The best smoked turkey I've ever had! Brisket and bologna were both very good. Had oxtails with cornbread dressing/ gravy and collard greens. Everything was excellent! Our first time, but definitely not our last! I teased my daughter and said she had to come to WSU for college in the fall since I'd found some of the best food I've ever put in my mouth. Lol. Stopped here for lunch as we were driving through Wichita. The food was delicious - I ordered the brisket. It was smoked to perfection, juicy, and not overly greasy. Service was friendly and quick. I would recommend to anyone who loves barbecue and will return next time I am in the area. read more

As soon as the door opened, I came in and got the platter with brisket, and molasses burnt-ends. For the sides, I got the smoked mac, baked beans, and the jalapeño cornbread pudding. The inside had a retro and industrial feeling which makes sense since it's inside an old fire station. The brisket was so tender to the point that I can barely pick it up with a fork without the meat falling apart. Also, the brisket was comparable and just as good as the brisket that I had back in Texas but without the 5+ hr drive. Why go to Texas when you have this? The only downside was that it was expensive, but the food quality makes it worthwhile. Despite the heat, waiting in line for about an hour was worth it since the line was out the door by the time I was done eating. Overall, it's one of my new favorite places for BBQ and one of my favorite restaurants in Wichita and it blows even BBQ places in KC out of the water. Oh, but it might be the best place for BBQ in my home state of Kansas I've ever eaten even beating Joe's in KC. Even that, it competes with many BBQ joints in Texas. If you want the full experience, make sure to be in line by 10:15 am (by 10am or earlier depending on the day if you want to be the first in line if you want a chance to get some surprises).
