Pulled pork
John J.

Thought the pulled pork was dry. Chips was good, and the scallop potatoes was probably the best thing on the plate. Overall, the value as this was a lunch special that included the pulled pork the chips scoop potatoes and a drink was over 15 bucks. I think you can get this at any barbecue joint cheaper with better quality pork. The person behind the counter customer service wise was very accommodating very good. The ambience is tired building nothing special.

Menu

Food is always great! I especially enjoy the pulled pork, smoked sausage, and their baked beans. Nice option for take out or for catering a family or friend gatherings. Employees are polite and helpful.

To go order was missing all of the buns. Nice. A gift was their answer instead of bringing me the buns I ordered and paid for.

Consistently great bbq. Two meat sandwich w pulled pork and hot links is my go to. Plus a few bottled beer choices.

Although I found them while in AK, he was traveling for work and he went with a few others. He said he never would've found it, nor would he have thought to stop if just passing by. He asked someone else in line what they recommended and he was super nice to fill him in on the menu! Three meats, two sides and some Texas toast for a mere $16.00! Holy moly was he full after that! Staff was friendly and they all loved their meals! He said he'll definitely go back again when he's in town!

The pizza was FANTASTIC, definitely something I will do again!!! ** I ordered the two meat dinner as seen in the picture below and it was good, no complaints. The sausage was tasty and had a mild heat, turkey breast was very tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the beans, could probably eat an entire pan of them. The potato salad was your typical potato salad, not sure it was made in house but I could be wrong. The spicy pickles were very good as well. I went in just to pick up a BBQ pizza for supper and decided to get a two meat dinner since I had never been before. The prices are average, my meal was 16.50 and I had a water to drink. They offer tea and soda as well. The employees were very friendly, restaurant was nice and clean. It reminded me of a typical bbq joint, smelled of smoke and meat, and had a few BBQ trophy's scattered throughout the entryway. Their BBQ sauce is also for sale if you want to purchase for home. Overall, I'd rate it a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10.

Another year, another restaurant pops up to occupy the doomed little building near 47th and Seneca…read more Everything about Sweet Willy's is heavy-handed, from the menu's cartoon cowboy claiming this to be the best barbecue he's had, to the amount of hickory used in the meat that ensures you're going to smell like the woods before you make it back to the car. Going so over the top doesn't help my old barbecue standbys: the pork was on the way to becoming jerky, the brisket was dry and the fat unrendered, and even the sausage had a casing that was too thick for my liking. The ribs, on the other hand, stood up to the smoke well, producing a caramelized crust that gave way to tender meat that came off the bone cleanly. I'm not normally a ribs guy, but it was one of the saving graces of the meal. What Sweet Willy's lacks in panache it makes up for in gusto. The menu is peppered with all sorts of non-traditional applications of barbecue, from poutine to chicken lollipops to tacos, though the most surprisingly enjoyable thing may be the burnt ends, which are tossed in a honey and garlic sauce that is not only more subtle than the KC-style sauces served with everything else, but surprisingly works well with the sugars in the meat in a way that doesn't overwhelm. There's clearly a lot of effort put into Sweet Willy's, but not a lot of confidence, no matter how many "yums" are on the menu. There's some good to be found in places you wouldn't expect, but the brisket and pork are serve as the foundation upon which the rest of the menu is built, so improving them should be the first priority.

Amazing BBQ hole in the wall place! We tried the family pack with 3 meats, 3 sides, rolls and…read moresauce. The garlic slaw isn't too sweet, the sweet potato salad is a surprisingly delicious change from traditional, and the baked beans are the perfect mix of sweet smoky and a kick. Pork, brisket, and turkey are all moist and top notch! The mild sauce is very sweet and the hot sauce has a nice vinegar flavored kick. You need to try this place out for some good Kansas BBQ.
