I got home and had got baked beans instead of green beans. Called and within 15 min they brought the green beans to me. And they were about to close. On top of that the food was amazing. Thank you for your great service. Didn't get the guys name who delivered it but thank you. Definitely go back and recommend. read more

I'm surprised that there isn't more BBQ in Wichita but this place didn't disappoint. They aren't kidding about the huge baked potatoes and they are cooked just right and loaded with toppings. I wasn't too excited about the sides (I'm all about fries and rings with my BBQ) so I got 1/2 lb of lean brisket. The meat was very lean and tender with a nice smokey flavor. It got only 4 stars because I suspect they use the Texas crutch which prevents a nice crisp bark. I was not able to get my go-to as they only have burnt ends as a special. Service was great. Friendly people and the food was prepared fresh for us. It's a cute little place with lots of seating inside and everything was clean and tidy. read more

Great food and atmosphere. Ribs and smoked turkey are excellent. This is our go to place for BBQ.

Everything I ordered was so delicious. I ordered the 2 meat plate. The pulled pork was there and delicious with the hot sauce but the star was the ribs! Amazingly tender and smoky. The bbq beans were delicious. The creamed corn was delightful. Next time I want to try the hot link and chicken. Great job! read more

This is the best BBQ Wichita has to offer. Brisket is juicy and tender, ribs are "fall off the bone", turkey is fantastic, pulled pork is awesome, hot links are fantastic. I have never had a meat/meal at When Pigs Fly that wasn't delicious and made you want to come back for more. All of the side dishes are fantastic as well, I personally love the beans and coleslaw. Both hot and mild bbq sauce is available at the table. The restaurant is nice and roomy with booths and regular seating. It's what you'd find in a typical BBQ joint and exceptionally clean. The employees are top notch, always walking around making sure guests are doing ok, tidying up the place etc. If I had to recommend a BBQ joint in Wichita, this is my go to!! Go give When Pigs Fly a try and you will not leave disappointed. read more

I stopped in for lunch after seeing the great reviews. I'm from out of town and am always on the hunt for good BBQ. I had ribs, turkey, baked beans and Cole slaw. The baked beans had a nice kick to them and were very good as was the slaw. The ribs, in my opinion, were over cooked, but maybe the folks around here prefer them that way. They weren't bad by any means, just not how I like ribs. The turkey was spot on and perfect! It was the best turkey I've had in a while. The atmosphere is great. The service was very friendly and helpful. They also have great iced tea. If I lived here I would definitely return to try the other meats and sides. read more

I have stalked this place on social media for over a year watching their creations. Today I had the day off and decided to try the place. I called up a buddy and we met over that the location. I decided to order The Bulldozer since I could try brisket, turkey and hot links. Also got a side of their baked beans. The sandwich was huge. Turkey and links good. I was disappointed with how much fat was in my brisket to the point of unenjoyable. The beans were pretty good. My buddy got a two meat tray with brisket, hot links, and a side of macaroni. Sadly, we both realized the parts we enjoyed most were the sides. Staff were very friendly and interior clean and comfy. read more

Ribs were decent, brisket was dry though. Really dry even though I didn't get lean cuts. Also, when I asked what kind of ribs they served, the answer was "pork". I said I meant whether they were back or spare, and was told they were back ribs. No wait, spare ribs. Actually they were St Louis but the staff should know. Baked beans were disappointing and so was the slaw. read more

Highly recommend their catering services! Very polite servers. Food was wonderful! Get the brisket. So tender! Enjoyed the pork, garlic green beans and jalapeño cheese sausage also. Saw online that they had a burnt ends mac and cheese special which made today's lunch decision easy cause burnt ends. So we stopped by late afternoon for lunch to go and ordered the special as well as a smoked turkey sandwich. After a short wait we had our food. Always appreciate a short wait time. I did try a bite of the special which was really, really good. The burnt ends are perfectly seasoned, the mac and cheese was creamy and it had onion crisps as well as green onions. All of this came together in the best BBQ mac and cheese I've ever had to date. Hubby also enjoyed it very much! As for the turkey sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Due to reflux issues I have to opt out of having BBQ sauce on anything which can be a bummer. But not with this sandwich. Again, this turkey is perfectly seasoned and it's not dry. This is a problem with most smoked turkey. I loved being able to eat this without needing to drown it in sauce. I will definitely get it again in the future! read more

We went for the special but sadly they sold out. I ended up getting turkey and ribs. The turkey was super moist. The ribs were amazing. I loved that they weren't covered in sauce but still had great flavor. The green beans were delicious. The baked beans were a little spicy to me, but still tasted good. The guy at the counter taking the orders was super nice. Their pickles are the best pickles. The restaurant was super clean. read more

About 3 miles off the highway, this family BBQ is just what you need to experience when driving through Witchita!!! We ordered the pulled pork, jalepeno cheddar sausage and the brisket with a side order of ribs. This Cali Family is stuffed, but we are sure glad we made the stop at When Pigs Fly BBQ! Everything was spot on and I can't wait to finish off the leftovers! YUM!!! read more

Best ribs in town! Fast service! Great place! Really recommend when pigs fly. Love their barbecue and we'll go there often.!

Don't run, fly to this bbq joint. The pulled pork is over the top good. I can't wait to visit Wichita again so that I can visit this fine establishment and enjoy some excellent bbq. Don't be intimidated by the line, wait it out, it's worth it. This place gives those KC bbq joints a run for their money...this is much more tasty. read more

So once again, I find the BBQ spots when I'm on the road for work. This one was a great choice. 1. Greeted immediately and liked the vibe of the spot. 2. The gentleman who gave me info was kind and courteous. 3. Brisket or ribs is usually what I try at any BBQ spot. So here I went with the ribs. Great flavor, fresh, good serving size and not a bad price at all. 4. I got cream corn and garlic green brands as sides and man.... Truly... excellent flavor. I'd encourage anyone to try these sides. 5. Any BBQ spot would never receive a lower rating for this but.... You don't have Mac and cheese as a BBQ spot?!?!?! Come on!!!! . 6. The sweet tea has to be on point for a 5 star rating though most of the time... this one was good, but I was as the bottom of the pitcher she it was so sweet I had to water it down (which never happens). All in all, if you're considering giving this place a shot, you should. read more

Consistently excellent food and service. The whole team truly loves what they do and it shows in everything they do. A locally owned gem.

The ribs, brisket, and service were awesome! Can't wait to come back again! It's so nice to have quality BBQ!

Great BBQ. Ordered pick up for July 4th. Didn't receive all I had ordered & paid for. I called & they were very apologetic. Offered to refund or I could come pick it up. Sent my grandson to get what was missing. He came home with a complimentary gift card. read more

Delicious ribs, brisket with side of beans and creamed corn. Quick and friendly service. If you like BBQ, it's great.

WOW! The barbecue here is SPOT ON. I have tried their combo platter with cheddar sausage, brisket, and ribs. The meat is flavorful, juicy, and smoky. The only small flaw would be that out of the two times I've ordered here, my second order's ribs were on the dryer side. Nonetheless, the delicious sides (ESPECIALLY THE CREAMED CORN) totally made up for it. Their beans and green beans are also very tasty. You cannot beat the prices either, for such quality barbecue I was surprised at how reasonable their prices are here! The atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly, family-oriented, and fast/quality service. This is my new favorite and I will be returning again very soon! read more

I'm an east sider for the most part. But I started eating here early this year because my partner works on the west side. And now I'm happy as can be to drive across town for this BBQ. I absolutely love their weekly specials. (Follow them on social media for the weekly specials). Any of the bbq on their Mac is my go to. I'm also not a huge Mac n cheese fan, but that's changed after eating their homemade Mac n cheese! So creamy and delicious. And it stays creamy and delicious the entire meal. The staff is wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. It's very clean and lots of seating. Easy ordering system. Definitely recommend. Some of the best bbq in Wichita. And you cannot beat the friendliest staff. read more

When Pigs Fly has amazing BBQ! It's been well over a year since I've eaten at this restaurant, even with the pandemic going on they did not sacrifice great service or flavor. I ordered the ribs, brisket, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, for the sides I ordered the big beans and cream corn. The ribs and sausage were incredible, and the brisket was very good. All meats had perfect texture and flavor. The baked beans are the best I've had at a restaurant and the cream corn was delicious. The customer service was outstanding, the team at When Pigs Fly went above-and-beyond to make sure I had what I needed and checked on me during the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy barbecue. read more

I didn't think I could experience BBQ that tastes quite this bad. The brisket was dryyyy... pulled pork was dry and bland. I paid so much for it that I continued to try and choke it down. The baked beans were ok at best and the potato salad tasted like it was bought from the Walmart deli. I truly expected more. Nobody in my family wanted to finish it off. It was not an enjoyable experience. The next time I try this restaurant is "When Pigs Fly." read more

We arrived around closing on Tuesday nite. Asked if they were still serving. Was told yes. Since they take about an hour to clean up. So glad we stayed. They only had 4 ribs left, but they were delicious. Not died out at all. Sister had the Links. She says they were spicy, but tried one and not too spicy for me. Brother in law had the brisket. He says it too was delicious. We had sides, creamed corn- very tasty, macaroni salad- very good but the kicker was the BBQ beans- deliciousoso!! Be sure and get the beans!! Cashier very sweet! Owner very nice and proud of his restaurant. All in all a good find for BBQ! Don't miss this! They close at 7 pm! So get there early!! read more
