I've tried a lot of brisket and I usually don't super love it because everyone over cooks it or it just doesn't have a lot of flavor. When I tell yall that this was the best brisket I've ever had in my LIFE. I live in Southern California and I can't wait to have an excuse to fly back and eat some. The pulled pork was good, the pork belly was bomb, but that melt in your mouth, juicy, splashing with flavor brisket, is, "I'll take an unnecessary trip to middle of nowhere Kansas" LIFE-CHANGING. First visit, but from what I understand, this place is always packed. You begin waiting in a long line outside, and then you meander through the restaurant to order. They have lots of BBQ offerings and sides. I had the brisket and burnt ends. Brisket was good, but not as moist as I prefer; burnt ends were simply ok. The mac & cheese was very good as were the baked beans. My experience this visit concludes that this is a decent place for BBQ, but certainly not my favorite in town. OMG- life changing BBQ! I came after a meeting with a local friend. He knew we had to be there before they ran out. The line of 16 people ahead of us moved fast. Everyone was polite. The talk in line was how some idiot tried to steal the smoker and social media and the whole city united to get it returned. Loved once the line moved inside. So many cool things to look at. I got the 2-meat combo with Mac and cheese and baked beans. And tasted the corn pudding. All the sides were amazing. The beans stood out because their sweetness was the perfect balance to the meat. And there wasn't a ton of meat in the beans (a frequent fail in my opinion). Although the other two sides were good, I'd probably get double beans next time. And there will be a next time!! Now let's talk meat.... The brisket melted in my mouth and my mouth is watering just writing about it! Wow wow wow! I would get it again every time. The ribs were my second meat and also a total win. I had most of them for lunch the next day. They put some burnt ends on my tray and I ate those too! I got the cheese bread and it was really good but I'd save the room next time for the meat. Visiting from NYC. Station 8 was highly recommended. Nice line waiting to get in right before 11am. I talked with four fire fighters while we waited to get. Super nice men! I had brisket, ribs and mashed potatoes. I TOTALLY understand the hype and recommendation! Ribs and brisket super yummy!! And I will add, the best mashed potatoes I have ever had!! Wow wow wow, talk about delicious. This place is a go to spot while visiting Wichita. When you first get there the line is pretty long for lunch. You can't go in and reserve a table but as soon as you get close to the front you can get a spot with your party. Either way people basically eat and go, so there's a spot when you're done ordering. We ordered the Yeti with a side of burnt ends. For 5 adults, 2 kids and a toddler this was plenty of food for us. It was about $130 with a tip. That's absolutely a great price being that we had so many leftovers. Everything was great. The chicken was tender enough for my toddler to eat. The burnt ends were perfect wrapped in a sourdough slice of bread. The ribs just fell off the bone. The brisket was tender. I'm not a big fan of baloney but it was already. The sausage was really good. Had a kick of spice to it. Overall def come visit. The service is great. They gave the kids hot wheels to play with while we waited on the food. Wow! What a place! I had this on my list for Wichita in my yelp collection already. I decided today was the day to go. At the car rental counter, I was recommended as one of the best places to eat in town. It was fate since I was kind of already decided to go there. Well, I pull up, there's cars everywhere in line out the door down the street! For me, this is a sign of wonderful experience. I chatted with a nice couple in front of me who had driven an hour to come here. They recommended the ribs. This is an old fire house, decorated lots of antique stuff. The weight ended up being well worth it! I got ribs and Burnt ends. And for sides got the jalapeño corn, pudding, and mac & cheese. I grabbed a strawberry white chocolate cookie from a local bakery. They were selling and a cheap wine zero sugar. The ribs were some of if not the very best I've ever had in my life! Burns were good too. The mac & cheese was very cheesy and creamy and the corn pudding very good. They had a large selection of bread, but I elected to not get any. The staff there was super nice and very helpful. We showed up at about 15 til closing, the line was to the door. We almost walked away. SO GLAD we stuck it out. The smells were phenomenal. The line moved quickly. We got some of the wagyu brisket, pork belly burnt ends, green beans and Mac and cheese and ribs. We took it home to eat, it was soooo good. The brisket melted in your mouth, the ribs had a delicious and peppery bark on them. I have zero complaints. We finally made it out for the first time Saturday. Yes, the line was long but it moves really fast. You're not waiting for food to be made, just put on plates. We had the biscuits & gravy. Yes, found this on Yelp as we were driving through Wichita. During week at lunch so it was lined up. It was alittle different feel going down line but it moved fast. You tell one person your meat then another your sides and drink at end. Drinks in a cooler you get yourself. I perfer ice , so we just got a bottle of water. Food was good. I had a ham sandwich with really good Jalapeno cornbread Pudding. Service is good with a person walking around giving out to go containers as needed. They are cleaning tables as soon as someone leaves. Not a Huge sitting area but the feel is good. Cute place with the fireman vibe. My 5 year old wasn't thrilled to be eating bbq. But after trying the pulled pork and brisket she says "this is the bestest food I've ever had". Five stars for the food, but zero stars for their total lack of open hours. They are closed not one, not two, but THREE days a week, including Sunday, when many of us are off work. They are only open until 2:00 meaning if you work a day job that isn't near downtown, you are out of luck. Your only window of opporunity is Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00, and good luck, all the other Monday-Friday people will be trying to get in too and my understanding is they often run out of food on Saturday. read more

We arrived at 11:20, and there was already a line of people down the sidewalk waiting to get in; a really good sign that today's lunch was going to be AWESOME! The line moved pretty fast, and we only had to wait 30 minutes. Pam got the 2-meat plate with Kansas City style ribs and Molasses-glazed Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Her side was Cornbread Pudding, which we had never had before but was really good. Dave got the "Thursday Special": 1/2 pound house-made pastrami on rye, with a side of Mac & Cheese. We have had pastrami on rye at the famous Katz's Delicatessen in NYC, but Station 8's pastrami on rye beat Katz's for flavor, tenderness and value, HANDS DOWN! This place is amazing! Easily the best barbecue in Wichita. The food is excellent, you can tell the workers put a lot of tender, love, and care into their food. Line understandably gets a little long but isn't too slow, I'd guesstimate around 20-30 minutes to get through the line. Service is excellent and it's easy to grab some seating. The inside is really cool since it used to be a fire-station. Lots of decorations and a good ambiance. They encourage you to sit, eat your food, and then get going (not in a bad way!). Here you see the ribs, brisket, mac and cheese, and pickled veggies on the side. This is hands down the best bbq i've ever had. The seasoning on the meat is smoky, savory, slightly sweet. The char on the meat is excellent, and the meat inside is juicy like no other. The amount of meat you get for the price is also phenomenal. The mac and cheese isn't my favorite but nonetheless great. Our first time trying it was yesterday. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened and there were already 30 or so people in line before us. By the time they opened, the line behind us was 40 deep. We figured we'd get the Yeti (a sampling of all the meats & sausages, all the sauces, choice of homemade bread (we went with the cheese) and four sides. A bit indulgent. We had to get some bottled sodas too. Cherry wine for me. Black Cherry for hubby. They boxed it up for us & we took it home for our dinner(s). Upon unpacking our food, we discovered they'd gifted us some burnt ends. I gently reheated all the food & it was fabulous!! The brisket was melt in your mouth divine!! We thought the smoked bologna would be gross & it was so tasty and made both of us instant fans. Our sides of baked beans (double order), smoked mac & cheese and jalapeño cornbread pudding complimented the meats. We have enough leftover for another 1-2 meals. We can see why people line up for this smoky goodness. Definitely top 3 BBQ spots in Wichita; could be #1 depending on what you like... I'm a huge burnt ends guy, so that's my go to. But upon more visits, Station 8 makes a delicious brisket and ribs AND their sides are awesome.
