What a beautiful drive to Georgetown. We really liked our burgers and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for a day trip and meal.

We sat outside with the pup & enjoyed the following under a tree filled patio area (live music on the weekend) Fire Starter burge:r Rinded jalapeños, bacon,sauted onions, on a oil topped brioche bun are u kidding me? Effing deviously delicious and sinful, well worth the $10. Garlic, parmesan frys, as advertised, yummy..Bad Garlic breath afterwards, glad we all eat them. Also delicious. We were told the food was great. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was great My wufe had a rueban and the meat was minimal. Also as soon and our food arrived so did the flys. Not an enjoyable experience. read more

The bar is lively and fun. The hotel rooms are interesting. I doubt they have changed much since the Gold Rush. There are shared bathrooms down the hall. The staff report ghostly encounters, but I didn't experience anything myself. read more

You can even come out to the balcony and sit in a chair and relax and watch a lot of nothing overall you're in a little mountain town not far from Placerville or Auburn come up and pay a visit. Just to let you know, I was fired from this place for missing a shift, but im going to give it a good review anyway. The restaurant uses safe and sane food practices, and everything is either fresh or just defrosted that morning. The kitchen manager doesnt take any chances with food safety. The food is standard bar cuisine but they make an effort to put a personal touch to it, and the specials are not to be distrusted unlike some establishments that use "specials" as a way to unload questionable food on you, if you keep a log updated with your spoilage costs, you just give it too your accountant come tax time and it gets taken from your amount due. My sister and I and her grand daughter came to Georgetown to visit our folks, (Longtime Georgetown Residents) at Georgia Slide Cemetery where they currently reside. We decided to have lunch first so we stopped at the famous Hotel and Saloon. Since we are still a little "Gun Shy" about dining inside, and masks are optional, we opted for the patio area. What a great space! Open, shaded or sun, whatever your preference. Our server Kat was very sweet, attentive and professional! She also took most pics with this post! Sister and I started with double Bloody Mary's. These things had so much garnish...Bacon Too.... they were a meal in itself. I had the Burger Sliders..YUMM, sister the BLT and niece Beer Battered Chicken Tenders to die for! The fries were so good too. The bonus? All this for under $50.00!! What??? Georgetown is a nice place and the hotel itself is historic, but the current management is completely inadequate. Plastic cups instead of pint glasses, servers were acting like it was their first day on the job, and everyone in the establishment was waiting hours for food that never came before leaving very disgruntled. read more

What a absolutely wonderful experience here yesterday! The staff was amazingly friendly the food was just perfect! The nacho cheese sauce was the best I've ever had and the garlic Parmesan wings were to die for. We ended up staying in the old madams room. For the price, your would expect real cheese, not the stuff you get at the high school football snack bar. Bar has a good environment and an okay place to grab a beer. We made a mini road trip from Sacramento on Labor weekend. This town used to be the commercial hub for many mines nearby. Now the town is thriving on the tourism. The Georgetown Hotel and Saloon have live band! My half and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger sliders to share. I ordered Stella. Everything tasted delicious. This is my 2nd visit, but 1st time to eat. It was a GORGEOUS motorcycle ride to Georgetown. We'd been 1x before on a ride so didn't have a chance to check the town or food. The Hotel & Saloon had the best menu options. Unfortunately, on a Fantastic Sunday afternoon, whomever did the scheduling, screwed up badly. The poor bartender was also : waitress (don't sit outside, you'll never see her), busperson, bartender, server. It wasn't fair to her, or the patrons, that she was alone. She was incredibly pleasant. Unfortunately, trying to get her attention was a challenge & all our food didn't come out. I wrote my order out on a napkin knowing that was the best way to get to her. (I used to be in the restaurant business) On the plus side, we will be back. Again, it's a gorgeous ride, the chicken wings were DELICIOUS!! I love mine without breading. We would have appreciated more sauce & the garlic fries we'd ordered. The jalapeno poppers were large (yeah!) but a bit, burnt :( read more

Disclaimer: This pertains to the hotel portion of this establishment. We had a wedding nearby and our group of friends filled out this whole place. We had drinks here and contributed to the local economy. You have to check in at the bar which is convenient because I was thirsty. Upon entering the room we quickly realized there is no bathroom in any of the rooms and you have no central air, just an ineffective ceiling fan. I was charged $135 for one night and that felt about double what my experience was worth. When you check out, you just leave and put your key on the ground which doesn't seem too safe. Arrived after at 7pm on their second day being open. Was immediately greeted by one of the owners who was very gracious and sincere. My wife Marcie and I were immediately seated by Our server Jen who explained our options and took out order. Jen was very friendly, knowledgable, and recommended the mushroom burger. Our drinks were cold and delicious, but other than the service, the best part was the 5 star burger and garlic fries. Mouthwatering perfectly cooked burger, and light delicious garlic fries. The decor is respectful and pays homage to the facility, but everything is clean, comfy, and relaxing. I strongly recommend this place. Best burger I've had in years. read more

Great food original bar and hotel rooms just enough haunt factor to see the occasional swinging light or self unrolling TP but definitely a safe stay right in the heart of Georgetown. Tons of history but tons of use left. read more

If you are looking for a quiet nights sleep, look somewhere else. I should have known with the name... Saloon. 10pm and the party is still going downstairs. I'm doing the Rubicon trail tomorrow and it looks like a good night's sleep will have to wait for a night on the trail. read more

First yelp review ever. I am giving them two stars because the bartender. The food was OK nothing special. The waitress was awful never asked for a refill. I was ready to leave 10 minutes before I went to the bar to pay my bill. This is my second bad experience out of three times go there. Better find a real waitress. read more

I've been coming here for years....we came on Founder's Day to support the community. What a disappointment. We sat at the bar and watched the 3 bartenders get dressed behind the bar and then take selfies....one other customer at bar. We were never offered a drink.....I've never been so ignored at a bar before. We were there long enough to use the restroom, check out the menu, and not be offered a drink at the bar. Last time, bring back the old Georgetown Hotel, we might come back, but the way it is now....good luck making it through the winter. read more

OK I may not have ever stayed here but every year the most wonderful man I know heads to Georgetown for about five days with a few other guys... This year I thought they were staying at this hotel and purchased a credit to the hotel saloon for he and his friends. Shortly after my transaction I received a call from the manager stating they were not staying there but she would help me locate their hotel and deliver the gift card I had purchased for them to their hotel for me. Now where I'm from.... that would never happen, I mean there is no customer service like that PERIOD and I just was amazed at how kind of this woman was to me on the phone, first of all.... second of all she was kind enough to try and locate the hotel that they were staying at and thirdly offered to refund The money to me if she could not locate them which she did and delivered it herself to the hotel they are at.... In my opinion this place could be a hole in the wall and the customer service alone would still be worth the stay but from what I've seen it's a beautiful hotel and I just couldn't resist leaving them and outstanding review for their customer service alone.
