We have been here many times!! It's just great, homemade food!!!…read more The service is always above and beyond!! And the restaurant feels like home. Today my husband had the house steak sandwich and I had the crispy chicken sandwich. We shared fries that were cooked crispy to our liking. All of the food was amazingly good.

This family owned and operated restaurant is fantastic! They have a great menu of a variety of…read moreburgers, sandwiches hot & cold, and some great appetizers. Plus real malts, shakes, and multiple ice cream concoctions. Every time I eat here, it is excellent. The staff is excellent. They are not only friendly, and more than efficient, they keep the restaurant spotless! Constantly cleaning, and changing fryer oil for fresh oil every single week. Impressive!!! Which really makes a difference on flavor. I never knew this extremely old and historic building could be so exceptionally clean. It looks (and smells) great. And is constantly busy, yet I never have to wait long for my order. They make their own Garlic & Herb bread, and Mom's authentic potato salad. I am craving that potato salad right now! My husband was thrilled to get a real Malt milkshake. And jalapeño fries loaded with their original jalapeño cheese spread, pickled jalapeños, green onions and sour cream. On another visit I had steak tacos at Shandy's that were stuffed with flavorful tender beef, and plenty of yummy extras, including Shandy's original cilantro lime dressing. Oh, and I make great burgers at home... so, I know a good burger when I eat one. Shandy's makes the best burgers!!!

Took some time to…read moreorder, and a little longer the get the food, but give them a little grace, the food is worth it. Everything appears to be homemade, the patties look like they're hand made, the shake used blackberry jam It's a small place and was packed with patrons waiting ahead of me. There were only two wonderful people working, so again, be gracious and forgiving. Much Mahalo to the two making our food today everything was delightful, scrumptious and definitely delicious (Ono). I will definitely visit again on my next trip over the Sierra's

First off the lady at the front was so sweet, and hard at work. She greeted us as soon as we walked in and wrote in the notes to cut the sandwich in half because my boyfriend and I were sharing . It was all down hill from there. We waited 52 minutes for 1 BBQ trip tip sandwich and 1/2 & 1/2 French fries/onion rings. It was busy I give them that, but there was no communication about how long it would take... they didn't say "hey we're slammed just so you know it might take an hour to get your food". Anyways, got our food and we live just up the hill. Literally a 2 minute drive. Sat on our porch, got our food out. Went to eat and fry.... CRUNCH. Biting into the fries was like eating Ketel cooked potato chips. Not sure if they were freezer burnt then fried so that's why they were so crispy. Or if maybe they were over done...? Not sure but a total waste of $8. The onion rings weren't bad, but hadn't been stirred in the fryer so they all clumped together. The bbq Tri-tip was smothered in bbq sauce, you couldn't even taste the meat. It made the bread super soggy just in the short drive home. My boyfriend said the plus side to visit was that in the 52 minutes he drank 3 dr peppers. Sad. I was really hoping to love this place because it's so close to my house, and I love supporting local businesses. I will definitely give them another shot because maybe it was an off day. I hope this review helps.

After a hike, I was looking for something to replenish my energy and this place did NOT disappoint!…read moreThe parking lot is a fair size, but it seemed to fill up quickly. There was a good amount of outdoor seating along with a few tables inside as well. The vibe there was pretty lively and fun, almost reminded me of old-time burger joints. After ordering my Spicy Johnny burger and onion rings, it only took about 15 minutes to receive it, which is understandable because the food is fresh and made to order! At first glance, it worried me that the burgers seemed slightly small and I was worried I would still be hungry afterwards. However, I was decently satisfied after eating (although I do still wish it was slightly bigger). The burger was packed with flavor and extremely juicy. The spice on it packed a decent punch that satisfied my tastebuds! And the onion rings were great! They weren't hot when I received them, but they were still crunchy. After the meal, I ordered a vanilla ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. Nothing more to say other than it was a refreshing way to end my dinner!

It took about 15 mins for my order but worth it for fresh food. For the sauces, they offered a variety including spicy thousand island, ranch, and etc. The burgers and onions rings were high quality and delicious. I was wondering if the burgers came with sides since they are in the pricier side, but it doesn't. But after eating my meal, I was pretty satisfied and everything tasted great, that the prices were justified. From photos, the burgers seemed small, but was happy to find out the burgers were a good size. I ordered the New Fashion and added cheese to it, plus family size onion rings. The burger was very filling and tasted really fresh and flavorful without being overpowering. But I do wish there was more lettuce than just one piece. The onion rings were made perfectly and wasn't overly greasy. After my meal, I went back to order a small ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. I love how they include this cute little plastic anti-drip cone holder! Overall, the entire experience was good and everything was delicious. I'd come back! (Random note; I've never seen a banana shaped wet floor sign before but that made me giggle hehe)
