Stayed in Miner's Camp. It's essentially a bunch of tiny houses on a lot. The fire pit, outdoor kitchen, ping pong table and other games are in a communal area. I booked the place, I received texts regarding what my door code would be and a link to book early and/or late check in/out, pet fee. A dog friendly place was necessary for us. Keep an eye out for a Miner's Camp sign to find the place. Drive through and park at your cabin. One of them has handicap parking.. We had a great stay. The place was clean with the exception of some spiderwebs and dust. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash were fixed in the shower. Decent water pressure. There were extra towels in a drawer, a couple makeup remover towelettes by the sink, an extra roll of toilet paper. The kitchen had a small fridge with a small freezer area, stove, oven, utensils, pots and pans. I do, however, wish there were more garbage cans. There was a small one in the bathroom and a small one in the kitchen. The sitting area on the porch was great. The TV in the living space was nice as well. Across the street was Brew Master's Deli-- note their hours. Worton's Market (a popular supermarket with a view) is 3-5 minutes away. We would definitely stay again. read more

Stayed in Cabin 1. Paid about $350 for one night. Totally not worth the price. Found bugs in room. Some of the power outlets didn't work. Was very old outdated and poorly maintained. Let the place know about my issues no one bothered to get back to me or offer any kind of refund. For$350 per night expected far better and left very disappointed. read more

If you are interested in having numerous emails that all state the same exact wording, then this is the place to stay. If you don't want to have any contact with a human being then this is the place to stay. If you want to be charged a $30 cleaning fee, with instructions in your room that YOU are responsible for taking out the trash and placing towels in a specific place, then this is a place for you. However, there isn't any other place to stay in Foresthill, so you are stuck. The yard games for kids or adults were a bonus, with a place for us to sit outside at night. Be sure to read all the print on their website so you know and understand what you are getting. read more

I spend a few weeks in April looking around for a place that I could stay for 4th of July with my dogs and get away from the dreadful fireworks that stresses them out so much. Found this place online and it was really happy that everything I imagined it would be, it was. Very clean and very pet friendly...Glamping & a bit rustic but its a cabin with all of your amenities. Wifi, cable satellite flat screen tv, cool AC, cleaning supplies, clean bedding and towels. Equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, stove & a kuerig. Including kuerig cups, sugar, etc. They had string lights at night, a nice grassy area to walk your dogs around and it was quiet and peaceful. I felt safe as a single gal just there with her dogs. I will definitely be back next year! read more

Stayed in #6, Last Chance. First off, it was a good size, and clean. Nice seating. Never bothered to turn on the TV, so I cannot comment on that. Easy to find, and easy to get into. These little cabins seemed like they would be perfect for our little weekend getaway. Some of the short comings we noticed. The bed was not very comfortable, suffering from a few lumps and a pretty big sink spot in the middle. The pillows were uncomfortably flat. The bedding itself was ok, but it wasn't the softest. The biggest complaint was the heater. It is advertised has having a ductless heater. It does, but there is a very significant sound when it runs. It's almost like a bearing was bad or a fan was out of balance. We had to decide if we wanted to stay warm or sleep. We decided to stay warm, and suffered from one of the worst nights of "rest" we ever had. There was also a significant draft in the bedroom, which didn't help matters. Being as there isn't an on-site person to deal with this, we just hung with it the best we could. We cannot recommend the #6 Last Chance at this stage. read more

First, this is actually in Foresthill, not Auburn. It is located in between residences, not in a more wooded section. The cabins are smaller than what they appear in the photos, but we were very happy with the cabin ( we stayed in #8). The bed was comfortable, the bathroom modern ( great water pressure and water heats fast), and was very clean. We brought our own food to cook, and there were adequate supplies in the kitchen. It's fire season ( and fires raging through CA) so no fire pit. It's close to a store, gas stations, small restaurant, and looked to be a pub or two. Overall, they only thing that would be better would be if it were a little more remote and maybe had a bigger garbage can in the kitchen. I didn't bring my dogs this trip, but it's an option here. read more

Very happy with our stay at Miner's Camp! We stayed in Jenny #8, I didn't take any photos, the photos on the website are accurate. It was very clean, fully stocked with everything we needed, we had a comfortable bed and a full kitchen to work with. The water pressure in the shower was perfect too! The property and surrounding areas are beautiful and I believe it's well worth the price. I was able to bring my two pups with no issues. Can't say enough good things about glamping, I mean camping at miners camp. The place has all the amenities of camping in the woods without sleeping on the ground and being stinky from not taking a shower every room has a new modern shower. The rooms are decorate with all kinds of mining memorabilia and most have a full kitchen. There also is a full outdoor kitchen but if you choose not to cook there are several great restaurants within walking distance. read more

Cute quaint little cabins. Older and smell a bit of mildew or moisture and we're definitely cold, but hey, it's winter. We tried to blast the heater but it only heated the living room area slightly, leaving the bedroom freezing. Fortunately there was a space heater but those things make me nervous especially when I didn't see any smoke or CO2 detectors in the unit. We brought extra blankets (there weren't any extras in the room- just what came with the bed) so that helped too. This place is broken down!!! Black mold in bathroom, old uncomfortable beds, ours actually had a log under it to balance it! Worse part.... They're unethica! They tried to say we peed the bed and charged our card 550.00 Two adults in their 50s stayed in the room and we certainly did not pee the bed!!! When they finally returned our call it was some guy calling us "dude" & asking what we were gonna do about it & proceeded to offer to meet my fiancé at the bar to settle it....That's customer service, LOL!!! These people are trying to make money off their clients by charging for damage that did not occur!!! BEWARE!!! read more

One of the best places I've had a chance to stay in! We stayed in #2 Bogus Thunder Mine. The decor was awesome! So much love went into this place, you can really tell. It's a local family run business, and they really care. The complimentary toiletries are really nice too! Make up remover towelettes and high-end tea tree shampoo and conditioner were nice touches. The cabin was spotless, and I'm a neat freak. I'm the person who checks the sheets for hairs and the mattress for bugs before getting into bed, and the sheets were clean and fresh and mattress like new. The pillows and bed were so soft we slept really well. Towels were thick, clean, and soft as well. There's no staff on premises, but we didn't need anyone anyways. This isn't a hotel with a concierge type of place, and that's ok. You are provided with all the info you need before check in. It was so peaceful and relaxing, the perfect vacation in charming little Foresthill. There's a covered BBQ/picnic area with lots of grass and beautiful homemade picnic tables made from huge logs that can be used. I would definitely recommend Miner's Camp to anyone booking multiple rooms for larger groups of people for the wedding venue that's just across the street, but also for couples romantic getaways. I found this place by scouring the internets about 3 days before arriving on a Friday for a one-nigh stay. My aim was to find a cabin-like place to stay that would provide a quick getaway from Sacramento and provide a farm to pick out a xmas tree. Originally, I looked in the area of Camino, CA because we wanted to go to Indian Rock Tree Farm (which is fantastic), but the only places that met my criteria were Airbnb locations that were a bit too pricey. We ended up at Miner's Camp and were very happy we did. Everything in the place was brand new (back when I started this review in 2016) and the heater was outstanding, which given how stormy it was, was needed! We will be back. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! We stayed in cabin #4. The cabin was adorable and well equipped. There was a fridge, microwave, a stove, as well as some dishes provided. Check in time was at 2pm but we arrived about 145pm. I had read that there was no staff on site but there was a woman who saw us pull up and she came and greeted us and used her code so we could get in 15 minutes early which was really nice of her. There's also a very nice fire pit as well as a barbecue station equipped with a sink and even a popcorn maker. I do wish they had a bigger trashcan inside the cabin as I tried to keep things as neat as I could for whoever had to clean the room. We did eat out a couple times so the trash was building up. I work in a hotel/casino and I know how hard housekeepers work. There is a $30 cleaning fee tacked onto the room rate, but when you get there and you see how nice the cabin is and how well-maintained it is, it makes sense why the cleaning fee is there. Mega's cafe was phenomenal! I highly recommend their breakfast burrito, and they are only 2 minutes from the cabins. I was not impressed by the Chinese restaurant Dragon boat which is also only about 3 minutes away from the cabins. Next time we'll try the steak house for dinner if it's open. We personally like to sleep in a darker atmosphere so we may bring extra blankets to block some of the light that shines through the windows. We made s'mores around the camp fire and made friends with some of the other cabin renters. Very pleasant atmosphere. My boyfriend is an essential employee and had been working like crazy so it was nice for us to get away. Which brings up another pro to this place. They have discounted rates for essential employees. Very much appreciative of them thinking of the essential employees. Sugar Pine lake is only 25-30 minutes away which is really convenient and the lake is beautiful! Overall very pleased with our stay, and we will be back. read more

Enjoyed a great weekend getaway here with the family. Kiddos loves the large grass areas to run and play. Wife loved the cabins fancy decor and bath amenities. I enjoyed a decent nights sleep in the country listening to crickets. During the day we explored the little town, did some mountain biking and hiking, and just relaxed. Totally a stress free and awesome vacay away from city life. No, there is no on site concierge, but all the info you need is given to you before check in, we didn't need somebody to hold our hand in order to figure out the door lock combo or turn on our tv. We stayed here in January and it was seriously amazing! The cabins were absolutely adorable. My family and I stayed in cabins 7, 11 and 12. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. The cabins were rustic but very modern! They had awesome sliding wood doors, kitchens, bathtubs and showers. I was so very satisfied with everything from cost, to accommodation, to comfort. Quaint and nicely decorated cabins. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end and why I gave them more than one star. The negatives start with the lack of transparency and non-industry standard practices they employ. Specifically, they charge you a cleaning fee that is not included in the rental price. You do not see this fee until the cost summary screen when you are ready to book. Additionally, there is NO on site staff. You are not made aware of this until well after you have booked and they send you an email with a cabin door access code and other info just before your check in due date. We had a large party booking most of the cabins last Sun PM for a wedding. When our party arrived we found the following: 1. One cabin was not cleaned at all from the day prior's renter. In fact personal possessions remained in the cabin (i.e. Checkbook) which was odd. 2. One cabin had dirty sheets but the bed was made. Looked liked sheets had not been changed for a number of cycles. Hair, food and misc debris covered the sheets. 3. AC didn't work in another cabin. 4. TV didn't work in another cabin. (We found #1&2 especially ironic since they charge an extra cleaning fee.) Since no staff was on sight there was no one to remedy these problems. Evidently there is a list of contact numbers posted in the cabin. We did not see this in our cabin. The cabin with no TV called the posted number but no one showed up until the next day just before check out. Fortunately we knew everyone on premises that night. Could not imagine if there were jerks in one of the cabins and no staff to deal with them. The owners/management are in So Cal. I tried contacting them re our party's issues/concerns. An admin sent me an email stating she tried to contact me via phone. I never saw a missed call from them. Via email she told me she would pass my issues along via email. Nothing but "crickets" since then... If you are in town for a wedding like we were and not staying at the wedding venue (which is awesome by the way) you are better off staying in Auburn. Short drive and better/cheaper options. read more

This place was great! Came up here for a quick trip for a wedding and the cabin was perfect. Full sized kitchen and living room. Completely separate bedroom with a queen sized bed. The only issue I had was trying to get the lock back in the lock box while checking out, but other than that this place was perfect! Would definitely come back for a longer trip. read more

Seriously creepy town and crappy experience... I arrived at this place after a 4 hour drive with 3 teenagers only to find there is no check in location, no staff, and no emergency phone number on the website. I was in a complete panic ready to call 911 and a stranger driving by asked me if I was looking for the owner... geez thank god for him because my next call was seriously 911... So I get in touch with the owner and finally figure out how to get into the cabin... apparently their system failed to send me a code?? And they don't check to make sure people get their check in messages??? So then it's time to BBQ at Miners Camp (because there are no Restaurants in this town...) They said they have a gas grill, pots and pans... they don't tell me they don't provide eating utensils or plates (paper and plastic would be fine, just needed to know), no cooking ANYTHING like pepper, salt, butter etc... not even a knife to cut apart my ribs... so I texted the owner (what if I hadn't got his number because of the screw up at check in???) and he brought us plates and utensils which was great but should not need to happen... why not just publish what guests need to bring if they plan to use to kitchen??? So the owner knew I was extremely upset over how our trip started so he offered to comp our breakfast at Mega Cafe the next morning... I'm thinking that's so nice... well guess what? Mega Cafe does not answer the phone... I called the number in the website for 10 minutes straight!! So I ask my sons to go find the place, which they did and tell me it's open but the credit card machine is broken so we need to pay cash which was fine under our circumstances of being comped but I'm thinking what kind of crappy place doesn't answer the phone or take credit cards? So I show up there with my kids and there are about 8 people sitting INSIDE WITH NO MASKS in the middle of Covid raging out of control!!! The place should be shut down!!! So we order our food near an open door (to stay away from the covid spreaders inside) and on the way out one of the men sitting outside winked at me and stuck his tongue out at me like "hey baby". I wanted to BARF!!! This is the creepiest most disgusting town ever with Trump 2020 posters on people's lawns. Our saving grace was rafting and the All Outdoors Rafting company was fantastic and highly recommend. read more

We had about 5 or 6 rooms reserved for our wedding guests for our June 16th, 2017 wedding. Our guests raved about how nice the rooms were! They were very close to our wedding venue, which was a plus! They also worked with us when we were not able to put our deposit down in time for the rooms. I would definitely recommend the Miner's Camp Cabins! read more

I have to say these cabins were such a pleasant surprise. I was skeptical but when I walked inside my cabin I was instantly relieved. The cabin is cozy and beautifully decorated. The area is great theres an open grass area with a bbq and fire pit. Local bars and resteraunts are hospitable. Will be back soon. Highly suggested cabin to stay in especially if you're in this area to white water river raft. read more

Stayed here during the week and must comment on a few things so others are prepared. We picked our cabin because it had a kitchenette: range, oven, refrigerator. We bought a pizza only to find the oven knob for the oven was gone. The refrigerator is very small, only slightly larger than one in a motel. Also bring extra towels! This sleeps four and there were only 2 very small towels. Also expect the cabins to be very close together with a residential area surrounding it. In our cabin the ac was directed at our heads while sleeping so we had to adjust that. Unsure if the thermostat worked. We kept turning down to 68 and it stayed at 70. In our cabin there was a rice cooker but not a colander so there lacks basic kitchen equipment found in other kitchenettes?? Also when you fold out the couch bed it fills the entire room which blocks access to the bathroom. We reported some of this to the management and they were very very nice and apologized Personally I don't like the fact there is no staff on the grounds for safety reasons. The positives: This place also makes access to the woods much quicker than staying in Auburn. The cabin itself had lots of cute features. When we come back we will bring more kitchen supplies and towels and make sure the oven knob is there. Meanwhile just so you know read more
