DO NOT BOOK HERE! If I could give zero stars I would!!! Trying to book this location for our wedding was a nightmare and nothing but lies. Brain (the manager) is a train wreck to work with. After picking our date and making our phone call to book and going over everything Brian sent us a contract with a price we never agreed upon. I had to beg to even get a contract drawn up because Brain kept calling trying to book another party on our date and move us. I had asked for a contract since we picked our date in August and barely got one first week November. Brain just wanted us to lay down a down payment without anything on paper originally and I begged and begged for something written on paper. Weeks later he sends an email and the price is 5K higher than our agreed upon. I had tried to text multiple times about the contract not being what we agreed upon and had been ignored for two weeks. I had even contacted Amanda (the grounds supervisor) trying to get this fixed after being ignored by Brian but per her Brian is the only one who has control over any booking and any financial portion. I even reached out by email to Bran and was ignored with no response there as well. Trying to book this venue has been such a negative experience and sadly I would never recommend this location to any one for ANY event. Over the phone Brain told us we are 'family' and would treat us like so but he has treated us so poorly. We had been working for almost two months trying to book this venue. It truly is a shame as this would be a meaningful location for me since I was raised in these mountains and grew up riding horses through those canyons. It is disheartening the way they run their business and how they treat people. My fiancé and I both work in public service during the pandemic (he a firefight and I'm an ICU nurse) and this how we've been treated by this business. We are taking our hard earned money and business elsewhere and I would recommend ANYONE looking at this venue to do so as well. read more

This place is absolutely breathtaking! We had our wedding in mid November 2020. With everything that was going on in the world, Brian was understanding and very easy to work with. Communication with Brian was excellent. He was prompt, easy to talk to and made the process very smooth for us. We didn't have a wedding coordinator but he had a PDF packet that he sent to us which includes photos of the place, blueprint of floors, different layout options for tables and chairs, a list of vendor suggestions (from caterer to decorations to makeup and video/photographers). The pictures of the floor plan also had measurements so that was super helpful in planning process. He allowed us to drop off decorations and drinks on the week of so we didn't have to make multiple trips on the wedding day. We had about 40 guest and they all loved the scenery. We planned the ceremony and photoshoot segment an hr before the sunset and the photos turned out amazing! Parking was great, there's room inside the lot, right outside the lot and xtra parking across the street. The one thing I didn't consider is the weather being super cold in November especially in Forest hill. However, the vendor that Brian recommended had heat lamps so that helped. The venue itself is spacious and had everything we needed. Highly recommend for your next wedding or retreat!! read more

Wow, what a place! Everything was top notch and our group had an incredible time. The views are second to none and really breathtaking. The accommodations were great, clean, and perfect for our group. It's really a beautiful cabin. Also, the heated pool was really fun! Other highlights include the sliding glass doors that blow open into a gorgeous deck space, the Game of Thrones - esque dinner table, the pinball machine, the master bedroom shower, and so much more. The owner was more than accommodating and awesome to work with. We really couldn't have had a better experience. I know for a fact that I'll be back soon! read more

I recently spent some time at Mountain Shadows for a company retreat and was very impressed with the facility. This place was meant for the gathering of family and friends (or colleagues that you consider family or friends). The floor plan is grand enough to accommodate an entire group in one area and private enough to retreat into smaller wings when the events are over. You often times don't know where to hang out because they are all incredible spaces. I loved the deck and views but also enjoyed the outside fireplace lounge on the east side of the property. I think I tried sitting in each sitting in each chair, couch, or lounger. I wasn't able to finish. There is a pinball machine, gaming / video theater room, swimming pool, and a large modern kitchen w/ dining space for many at the same table. The dining room opens to the entire deck with bi-folding doors. You like barbecuing? No problem - has a large built in grill space for anyone to work their magic. Mountain Shadows is worth checking out. It is your solution to that special celebration or event. read more
