You can either have a dog blanket for your pup to sleep on the bed with you, or a dog bed. Both freshly washed. Rock Creek Inn is a short walk/drive from a very well stocked grocery store and various restaurants. Downtown Georgetown is also a short walk in the other direction. It's such a time capsule of California history! We used Rock Creek Inn as our home base for exploring California gold rush historical sites such as Sutters Mill at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, where gold was discovered, and the historic downtown districts of Auburn and Placerville. We had wonderful visits at Jollity Goat Farm in Garden Valley and Hooverville Orchards, an oasis amidst the family owned orchards, with a yummy bakery, too. Being Bay Area Californians, we very much appreciated the quieter and slower pace of life in the countryside. We plan to return for river rafting, hiking, and more fun with our dog. Rock Creek Inn is a welcoming gem of a place. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. It is nestled next to the Georgetown Pioneer Cemetery, which I found to be a peaceful and comforting place to walk with our dog. While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

The only downside was the cooling unit in our cabin (unit #7). It worked great when we first arrived on a very warm day, but later started making a terrible squealing noise and stopped cooling properly, so we had to turn it off. The cabin got pretty warm, and unfortunately only one of the windows had a screen, so opening the others would have meant inviting all the local bugs in to spend the night with us. Other than that, we really liked Miners Camp and thought it was a charming, thoughtfully put-together little place. We'd definitely stay again - hopefully with a happy cooling unit next time!

The car would not start and I could not make it down to the charger, which is only 1 mile There is a level-2 tesla charger here, but it has not yet been approved by the county to use for public EV charging. it's only meant for employees and owners. Regardless, since I rolled in on 0% battery charge, they made a exception and let me plug in for a little while so that I can actually make it up to the level 3 charger in the morning. The rooms are clean and quiet. 1st floor rooms have a gated patio out back thats nice breathing in that fresh mountain air.

Location would be great for Receptions or large family getaways, especially if you can occupy all the rooms. No real 'food' or 'drink' amenities, so bring your own. The photos and room description was different depending on what site you looked at. There is a steep staircase to get up to the upper rooms so if stairs are an issue, book one of the downstairs rooms We had the Stafford suite and it was amazing. Nicely decorated and again, that bed was so so comfy. If you are under 5'8" you may need a step stool to get in the bed! It can be noisy with the freeway and train nearby but we weren't bothered by it. There is a huge fountain outside the window that helps. This would be a great place for a small wedding or family reunion... the whole place is inviting and cozy. I am sure the grounds are gorgeous in the spring! They do not offer breakfast so we brought some muffins and fruit and enjoyed our coffee in the parlor... you do have full use of the kitchen so If you want to cook, you can. The owners are very prompt to reply if you have questions and check in was a breeze! We will most definitely be back!
