So, this was my second time coming to Georgetown Cupcake but my first time actually indulging and I was not disappointed. We came late Saturday morning and there was no line. The cashier provided quick, genuine recommendations, which I greatly appreciated. With that, I opted to try the Cherry Cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious. So much so, the afterthought was that I wished the cupcake was bigger. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed the marshmallow cupcake which is on the list to try next. Needless to say, I will be back.

My fave cupcake place in the DMV! The chocolate coconut cupcake was addictive. I've been coming here for years and the quality of the cupcakes has remained amazing. The shop itself in Georgetown is small but cute. My order was ready quickly and accurately by respectful and efficient staff. Love it here, undoubtedly will be back.

Cute little cupcake shop but I dont understand the hype. Longish lines for tiny overpriced cupcakes! Did they taste good? Yes. But it tasted just like any other cupcake from anywhere else. We got the chocolate panache and either the Earl Grey or lemon one(dont remember which). They were moist n good enough to try once.

This place has been on my DC bucket list for the longest time, and unfortunately I had no idea the disappointment I was in for. The cupcakes themselves were all very dry, the frosting was honestly so average, and the flavors were honestly pretty mid and forgettable. I am glad we only got three cupcakes to try because these were pricey for the quality of cupcake, and it just did not feel worth it. The store overall seemed so dull and devoid of life, which made the whole experience even more underwhelming. All the cupcakes looked pretty dry sitting there, and they ran out of flavors pretty quickly, which was surprising and a bit disappointing. Overall, I do not know if I would come back again, and I was honestly expecting a lot more given the hype.

Walked by this shop on my way to dinner so I had to make a stop. The kids were googly eyes over all the beautiful creations. It was hard to get them to pick one to share. We ended up with the rainbow. I don't know how many times they thanked me because they enjoyed everything so much. The frosting was even good. Not too sweet, nice and fluffy. The chocolate ganache was a little less impressive. I thought the cake portion was dry. Flavor was okay. The ganache was good though. I do believe all the white cake bases are the same with some confetti in there and all the chocolate bases are the same. Kids wanted to come back for more of the other flavors but I didn't get a chance to stop by. I wouldn't be interested for myself.

I know there is quite a debate, especially with DC locals, on the hype of Georgetown Cupcakes - but they are one of my absolute favorite treats. My personal favorites are Milk Chocolate Birthday Cake (the vanilla cupcake alone is so good, then you add on the milk chocolate icing and it's somehow even more delicious) and Chocolate & Vanilla (valrhona chocolate cupcake with a vanilla cream cheese frosting topped with french chocolate sprinkles - that cream cheese icing is top notch). They're always beautifully decorated and a hit at parties or a special treat). They send monthly emails with a 20% off coupon that you can order for future dates to either pick up or ship. This dozen was ordered online and delivered within 15 minutes (just over the key bridge).

Our daughter was a stem cell donor at Med-Star Georgetown University hospital, and the staff said this was the cupcake place to go to! We walked about 20 minutes there in 96 degree weather and bought 4 different flavors.: Red velvet, lemon blueberry, strawberry, and chocolate ganache. The cupcakes were small for the price point. The lemon blueberry was my favorite. It was moist but needed a tad more frosting in my opinion. The red velvet was very dry and we were not a fan of the frosting. Our daughter liked the chocolate ganache but again the cake part was a tad dry. The service was ok. No smile or greeting but the server did recommend the lemon blueberry so that was a plus. Overall, it's a good cupcake place but not the best in my opinion.

Not at all blown away by these cupcakes. Waited 45 minutes in line -- I'm not opposed to a long wait if it's worth it but unfortunately I don't think this place lives up to the hype. Of course the one flavor I wanted (carrot cake) was not on the menu that day but the only way to know that is after waiting the 45 minutes to get inside where you can see the daily menu tucked away in a corner. The website is not reflective of the availability. If there's a flavor you really must try, then go inside to check if it's available before waiting. My backup flavor was also not available which was only made known to me as I ordered. I understand that maybe they had just run out and hadn't had time to update the menu. I just didn't think the cupcakes were anything crazy. They were good cupcakes but that's about all I can say. Wouldn't wait in line again but glad to have tried it once so I don't feel like I'm missing out anymore!

We came here because we heard about it being popular and made the mistake of waiting ~30 min in line. The cupcakes were not bad but nothing spectacular and tasted quite sweet and artificial. They do have a lot of unique flavors though. Would not wait more than 5-10 minutes for this if you really wanted to try.

The cupcakes, the icing, the flavors, all top notch! The price, not so top notch! You definitely pay for the quality and the decorations. 22 dollars for 6 cupcakes. The people running the show were friendly and focused on customer service. They are definitely a great location! They do have seating, first come first serve!

They closed all the shops on the west coast and when I did mail order it was a hot mess. Glad I could go to the store in Georgetown and buy them there. Line is still long but moves quickly. Maybe 3 tables there to sit down so assume you're taking your cupcake and drink to go enjoy elsewhere. It's warm and crowded so not the most ideal to sit down for a relaxing moment and definitely not for a group. Pricey for sure but for a once in a while treat, worth it. The vanilla squared, chocolate squared, and red velvet never disappoint. I'm sure someone will say those are so plain but it's truly fantastic. Parking is very difficult so bring a buddy who can circle around while you get your sweet fix.

I decided to try them again. It's been over 10 years since I last tried them. Everything still stands. The line is not worth the wait, sadly, even 10 years later. The staff seemed overwhelmed. They were not engaging at all. Just hi, what's your order, then here's your order, done. Nothing to it really. Just another customer. Using one door to go in and out is hard. People stand in the door way causing such a jam to get in and out. Once inside it is cramped and it's pretty much a grab and go set up. I remember seeing a table or two, but it's not relaxing to sit in the chaos. The cupcakes did not look appealing. They appeared dry looking and that they have been sitting there a while. They are your standard cupcake just like you wiuld make at home. The cost is about $4 a cupcake. Which is reasonable. I opted for just the classics, a chocolate cake with white icing, known as the chocolate birthday and then I ordered a yellow cake with chocolate icing. The chocolate birthday was pretty good. But I tried my friend pumpkin cheesecake it was ok. It did not have a sting pumpkin spice flavor along with the icing. My yellow cake with chocolate icing was similar, it was lacking something. It maybe better with an icing similar to the chocolate birthday cake. But, maybe that's preference. There were two girls behind my friend and I complimenting how the cupcakes looked dried and not appealing. They then made the comment that maybe that's because they maybe the display cupcakes. I finally turned and asked if they had tried Baked and Wired down the road. They had said they knew of it , but went for Georgetown because they seemed popular. They asked why were they so popular and I said I can only assume it was because they were on a show at one point in time, but that was a long long time ago. I pulled out the cupcake that I had in my bag and showed them and they were in awe. They stayed and ordered them headed to Baked & Wired. I will most likely not be returning.

As I always say... as a gluten free person, I am so thankful to have an option (and a very tasty one at that)! The line is usually extremely long and requires a wait - unless you come during an "off time" (maybe like a weekday in the morning or something). And as you'll see - the line is there for a reason! ^Even with the line, the service moves quickly and I think they are as efficient as they can be for the number of customers they serve. After coming here for the first time, I also had them prepare larger batches for a work event and my birthday- and they were a huge hit. Some people knew the company right away and hoarded multiple lol but anyways - try this place out!!

The folks on this side were very sweet and helpful. When we went over to "Wired" to get our coffees, there were a bunch of *other* treats over there, which nobody told us about, so that was annoying because then we would have ordered way fewer items. So we got a couple more goodies here as well as our iced coffees and a hot cocoa for our kiddo. The folks on this side were unfriendly and uninterested in customer service ("Just checking in on our quiche...?";"Oh, we totally forgot. We'll put it in now."). We weren't impressed with most of our items though some were better than others. Unsurprisingly, the cupcakes were the best; we got the nutella and "unicorn" ones, and both were moist with excellent frostings. We especially appreciated the filling in the nutella. The chocolate chip cookie was terrible--our daughter, a cookie fiend, refused to have another bite of it. We liked the novelty of the "orange dream" shortcake. As for the other stuff, the spicy sausage biscuit was not spicy at all and had the consistency of rubber. The quiche that finally came out was too oily, but we all liked the decadent cinnamon roll. Bit of a mixed bag all around, so we're settling on three stars. We ourselves won't be back, but others might have a better experience on a different day.

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! Unfortunately, the location in DC has permanently closed and we were still very much in the mood for some pastries... my cousin who is French has previously sang the praises of this Lil French pastry shop, so of course I had to give it a try. I am so happy that I did because I truly believe that I have stumbled upon my new favorite pastry shop in the area! Upon walking in the smell of croissants and almonds and sweet, sweet delicacies filled my nostrils. I basically became the human version of Remy from ratatouille inhaling a delicious bouillabaisse simmering on the stove top for hours....seeing colors and flavors so bright and intoxicating I simply had to have it I walked in and my eyes were instantly attracted to so many delicious options from classics like Palmiers and Napoleons to some unique flavor combos I've never tried before combined like raspberry and pistachio. Of course, I decided to grab a little bit of everything to make an accurate assessment as a YELP Elite should!! My favorite hands-down was the Berry Millefuille. The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. Honorable mentions go to the peach rosemary tart, which was so unique with the added botanical of rosemary with some fresh sweet peach slices on top and a very crunchy tart base. We all enjoyed everything we purchased! I also ordered one of their seasonal specialties, the rosemary latte with skim milk and iced. The flavors were so uniquely crafted to where you could taste everything but everything combined together for the perfect sip. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband! Without a doubt, this is only the first of the many times I will visit the establishment. It was so authentic, so delicious and passed all the vibe checks even from the French side of the family. I was told I have to return when they first open to have a fresh croissant and a fresh baguette that is on par with what you would have in Paris. Even the items in the fridge were made in France and were delicious fruit nectars that were very unique- we purchased a passionfruit nectar that didn't even make it past the doors before we had completely inhaled it and purchased a lychee nectar for later. I am so excited to have learned about this establishment and believe me when I say you must run, not walk, to experience it for yourself.
