This is the worst NY Strip I have ever had. Someone else had the special bone in filet and it was also terrible. What a disappointment.

My family and I recently ate at George's to celebrate my birthday, and while there, a waitress spilled an entire glass of red wine on me and my dinner, ruining the clothing I was wearing. After the incident, my dinner was replaced, however we did not receive an apology from a manager or any form of compensation to cover the cost of the ruined clothing or a discount for the wine that we couldn't drink because I was wearing it. Hostess was very snobby not professional at all. Food didn't take to long to come out. I ordered a Philly, not very well done at all.

Even with a 7:30 reservation (which should be late enough to get us seated) we waited until 8:30 to get a table. By then the baked potato that I ordered had been sitting for quite some time as the skin was tough and the potato was only warm. While I cannot complain about the steak (which was cooked perfectly) and the service (once we were seated), by the time we WERE seated I had really lost my hankerin for a good steak and just wanted to go home. This was my first time at Georges and will likely be my last as I can get a good steak at many other places in The Valley and not have to wait an hour past our reservation. Had I walked in off the street with no reservation, my opinion MAY have been different. But that was not the case and thus I will look elsewhere in the future to fulfill my craving for beef read more

We stopped in last night at around 8 p.m.. Parking lot was nearly empty and only a few people at the bar. As soon as you walk in it stinks of dampness and old lady perfume. Despite this we continued to walk in. We stood for nearly 10 minutes at the hostess station to be seated. Approximately 5 waitresses were standing there talking. The bartender was standing around talking as well. Not once did anyone notice that we were waiting for a table. My boyfriend loudly announced "we will count to 10 and if no one notices us we are leaving." We walked out and drove to another restaurant where we dropped $70 for dinner. Too bad Georges. After reading some of the reviews here we weren't expecting much. Totally the opposite of what the reviews said. Service was great, we were seated right away I chose the prime rib which I called in advance to make sure they had plenty, my wife had the tenderloin tips with noodles and everything was fantastic. More than enough food. Oh yes, food won, I couldn't finish the whole thing. I guess 22oz. Steak was too much, but enjoyed every mouth watering bite. Will definitely return and recommend this establishment. read more

Might not be the most upscale place in town but for the money, you cannot beat it. Soup salad and dinner with vegi snacks all included for about $20. Thumbs up!!! read more

We went on a Friday night and called ahead for a reservation which I highly recommend. The place was packed when we arrived around 6:45. We did find some space at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready. They really do pack you in. Not much room on the table for everything and not much room to move around period. It does get very loud since there is so many people packed into a tight pace. We had a group of 4 and there were things that we tried to order that they were already sold out of. Which struck me as strange. Wouldn't you stock up on Friday for the weekend when you will be most busy? We each had a variety of meals and everything was very good. Steaks were cooked as request and the potato sides were good as well. We had some after dinner ice cream drinks which were all very good. Again they were out of some of their dessert options. We had a good time and a good meal. They do seem to cater to an older audience. They were starting up the pianos when we were getting ready to leave. Really disappointed. Have gone here in the past for special occasions. Tonight was a special occasion. Service was mediocre. Very busy but the waitress really tried. Do not order the prime rib. My lobster was good but the prime rib so tough I could not even cut it or eat it. They offered me a free desert. My bill with tip was $102. Won't get my vote for best of the valley or a return visit. read more

Lobster and prime rib was very good. Service was a little slow but food made up for it . Older cliental but felt very relaxed in there. Only thing is would recommend a good Potatoe instead of Augratin potatoe that Taste like hash browns in a bowl. Maybe a twice baked. Otherwise excellent and reasonable price . read more

My wife and I ate here on a recent visit to Appleton, she had looked for a restaurant online and we picked George's. When we checked into our B&B, the innkeeper said it was a great choice and we would love it. Well he was right, we loved it and had a great meal and a wonderful time. I had the blue cheese crusted new York strip and my wife had the filet. Both steaks were grilled to perfection and were delicious. After dinner we had drinks at the bar and enjoyed a fun time with the piano bar. We will definitely pay a return visit on our next trip to Appleton. read more

Been there 6 times in 3 months and was great! Had steaks and seafood and all were delicious!

We loved this place! The food was good, the staff was happy and the piano bar made our night. We will be coming back!

The service was terrible. We had made reservations for the 8 person booth. When we arrived we were told that someone else wanted it so they gave it to them. We were on time for our reservation. The reservation was at 5:30, they were already out of the duck...although it was still featured on their sign board as you enter the restaurant. One of the members in our party had a hair in their fish. The hostess only stated that she would let the waitress know. No apology! The waitress did stop by to apologize as she was on her way to wait on another table. All but one dinner was originally served, the missing extremely rare prime rib arrived 5 minutes after everyone else's food. The soups were served luke warm at best. As we were leaving, another party was walking out after waiting an extremely long time to be waited on after being seated, and then was told they were out of duck. The waitress forgot to wait on them. Yet they made sure that they charged them for their drinks. Unbelievably awful service!!!! When we paid for our dinners, we tried to explain the terrible service that we received, the cashier turned her back on us. Awful, awful, awful!!!! read more
